Young girl robs elderly woman in Pasadena


PASADENA >> Police are seeking a 12- to 13-year-old girl who robbed a 73-year-old woman of purse in Pasadena on Wednesday afternoon.
The crime took place about 3:30 p.m. at El Molino Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard, Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said.
A blue, four-door sedan pulled up next to the woman.
“The suspect exited the front, passenger side of the vehicle, approached the victim and started to forcefully pull the victim’s purse from her shoulder,” Goodman said. The purse strap broke, and the robber managed to return to the getaway car with it. The car was last seen heading north on El Molina Avenue.
The elderly victim suffered no injuries, according to the lieutenant.
Police described the robber as a black girl between 12 and 13 years old, about 5 feet tall, 80 to 100 pounds, with black hair. No description of the driver was available.
