Chino Hills man accused of breaking into Pasadena pharmacy

PASADENA >> A Chino Hills man is accused of breaking into a Pasadena pharmacy and fleeing with prescription drugs earlier this week.
Police responded to a report of a “burglary in progress” about 6 a.m. Thursday at Michael’s Pharmacy, in the 900 block of East Green Street, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.
“When we arrived, officers saw the suspect run from the location,” the lieutenant said. “They went into a short foot pursuit and caught the suspect.”
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Joey Baldovinos of Chino Hills, was found to be in possession of prescription medication believed to have been stolen from the pharmacy, Mercado said. The type and amount of recovered drugs was not available.
Baldovinos was booked on suspicion of burglary.
According to Los Angeles County Superior Court and booking records, Baldovinos was convicted of previous burglaries in August of 2016, and again in September of 2016. He served eight months of a 16-month sentence and was released from custody with three years of formal probation supervision in March, records show.
Baldovinos was released from custody hours after Wednesday’s arrest pending his initial court appearance after posting $20,000 bail, records show.
