San Marino woman robbed in Pasadena


PASADENA >> Police in Pasadena are seeking a man who robbed a woman of her purse as she sat in her car on Thursday afternoon.
The crime took place about 1:35 p.m. in the 300 block of North Arroyo Boulevard, near the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, Pasadena police officials said.
“The victim was sitting in her car with the windows down,” Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado. The victim was a San Marino resident in her mid-50s.
“The suspect reached into the passenger side and began to take her purse,” he said. The woman tried to hold onto her bag, leading to a brief “tug-of-war” before the robber managed to pull the purse away from her. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot. The woman was unhurt.
He was described as a Latino man in his early-20s, 5 feet 11 inches tall, of thin build, wearing a blue T-shirt and blue shorts. He had tattoos on his arms and his neck.
