Three robbery suspects barricaded themselves inside a Whittier home Saturday, authorities said, leading deputies to a small marijuana grow and additional arrests.
The three suspected robbers were arrested, along with five other adults who were at the home, Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Aura Sierra said in a written statement.
A 6-year-old boy was inside the home during the incident, Sierra said.
"The child was removed from the home unharmed and placed in protective custody with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services," according to the written statement.
Phillip Patron, 22, of Whittier, Raymond Sanchez, 27, of Whittier and Angela Delgado, 25, of Pasadena were booked on suspicion of robbery, sheriff's Lt. Margarito Robles said.
Five others at the home -- two men and three women -- were arrested on suspicion of various charges, however sheriff's officials refused Saturday to release their names or say what those charges were.
The incident began about 12:45 a.m. when a man was robbed of his wallet at gunpoint by two men near Amistad and Harold streets in Pico Rivera, sheriff's Sgt. Joe Van Damme said.
Patron and Sanchez are believed to have carried out the robbery, officials said, while Delgado is accused of acting as a getaway driver.
The arrests were made at a home in the 12500 block of Pasadena Street in Whittier as the result of some good information from a witness, Sierra said.
"Witnesses of the armed robbery provided deputies with a license plate number of the suspect vehicle," Sierra said in the statement. "Pico Rivera station deputies responded to the registered owner's address in the City of Whittier."
Several adults obeyed the orders of deputies to come out of the house, Van Damme said, and one of them told authorities her sleeping 6-year-old child was still inside.
Deputies sent in a police dog, which found the remaining suspects and bit one of them, Van Damme said.
The suspect who was bitten was hospitalized for treatment of his injury, he added.
The remaining suspects and the child were then removed from the house, Van Damme said. The child's mother was among those arrested at the home.
While inside the house, deputies discovered a small marijuana growing operation of about three plants, he said.
According to court records, the three robbery suspects are due for arraignment in Whittier Superior Court Tuesday.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE -- For the fourth time in just over a week, a foothill city bank has been robbed by gunman, authorities said.
A robbery was reported about 9:45 a.m. Thursday at a La Cañada Flintridge Chase bank branch, 749 Foothill Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Larry Landreth said.
Two robbers wearing masks helped themselves to an undisclosed amount of cash from two tellers at the bank, the lieutenant said, but abandoned some of the money and one of the guns, which turned out to be a fake, a short distance away when an anti-theft dye-pack exploded.
"Some of the money was recovered with the die pack," Landreth said.
The robbers were both described as black men in their 20s wearing masks, he said. One of the robbers wore a grey hooded sweat shirt, grey overalls and a gorilla mask, Landreth said. A further description of the other robber was not available.
Witnesses at the bank reported seeing a silver car, possibly a Toyota, fleeing the area, officials said.
Deputies from the Altadena Station spotted a silver Honda Prelude with two black men driving extremely aggressively and fast down the eastbound 210 Freeway shortly after the robbery, Landreth added, but they were not found.
Another bank robbery occurred Monday at a Citibank branch in La Crescenta, 2621 Foothill Boulevard, authorities said.
In that case, the robber was described as a black man in his 20s, about 6 feet 4 inches tall, about 185 pounds, with a goatee and mustache, sheriff's officials said. He wore a green heavy winter coat with a hood.
Two bank robberies were reported Oct. 15 in San Dimas and Altadena.
In Altadena, a black man who appeared to be in his 40s used a demand note to rob a Chase bank at 2333 N. Lake Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. John Stanley said.
He stood 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds, the sergeant said. He was bearded and wore all black clothing, including a black beanie.
In San Dimas, three men armed with a handguns carried out a robbery at the Chase bank at 1198 Via Verde, sheriff's officials said. A white car was used as a getaway car.
Though the suspect descriptions in each case bare similarities, Landreth said, there are also differences.
It was not clear Thursday if the robberies were connected, Landreth said.

ALHAMBRA -- A team of violent robbers has apparently been at work in Alhambra over the past month, authorities said.
Four robberies have been reported so far at four different spots within the city since Sept. 3, Alhambra police Detective Tai Seki<NO1>cq<NO> said.
The robbers carry weapons, though Seki declined to say Friday what type, and several of the victims have been attacked and hospitalized during the crimes.
The robberies all occurred during nighttime hours, between 9:30 p.m. and 3 a.m., and there didn't appear to be any pattern connecting the victims, Seki said.
"It almost appears to be as if the suspects are selecting the victims at random," he said.
The robberies are connected by similar circumstances and a white or light-colored, older-model SUV that's been seen in connection with each robbery, Alhambra police Lt. Edith Lopez<NO1>cq<NO> said in a written statement.
Police believe the robbers to be two to four Latino men in their 20s, Lopez added, and police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspects or the SUV.
The robberies occurred Sept. 3 in the 400 block of South Stoneman Avenue, Sept. 7 in the 00 block of First Street, Sept. 28 in the 700 block of South Atlantic Boulevard and Sept. 30 in the 00 block of Shorb Street, Seki said.
In each case, the robbers stole personal property including wallets and cell phones, he added.
Seki advised Alhambra residents to, "Be aware of their surroundings when out at night, and report any suspicious activity."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Alhambra Police Department Robbery Information Line at (626) 570-5136. Reports can be made confidentially, and information will be kept confidential.
