GLENDORA >> A repeat sex offender caught viewing pictures of seminude young girls at the Glendora Public Library has begun serving a 13-year prison following his sentencing Wednesday, authorities said.
A Pomona Superior Court Judge sentenced Kirk Brian Eggleston, 49, of Glendora to 13 years and 4 months in state prison after being convicted Oct. 20 of possession of child pornography and attempted child pornography with prior convictions, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani said in a written statement.
Eggleston was previously convicted of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 in 2003, child molestation in 2004 and indecent exposure in 2006, Ardalani said.
At his sentencing Wednesday, Judge Juan Carlos Dominguez also ordered Eggleston, who was already a registered sex offender, to continue registering for the rest of his life, officials said.
The most recent case stems from a Feb. 9, 2014 in incident at the Glendora Public Library, 140 S. Glendora Avenue.
“Library staff noticed the defendant looking at images of seminude young girls and called police,” Ardalani said. “Authorities arrived and also viewed Eggleston looking at the inappropriate pictures.”
Glendora police investigators testified during Eggleston’s trial that they found search terms used to find child pornography had been entered into the library computer while Eggleston was using, officials said. Inappropriate images were also found on the computer.
“Additionally, police inspected the defendant’s home computer and found child pornography search terms, but no pictures,” Ardalani said.

You might remember Schwyzer invited porn queen Jessica Drake to speak to his class earlier this year. He also visited with James Deen, who is a PCC alum.
This past summer Schwyzer admitted to me that he had slept with students in his office on campus. That’s allegedly a violation of school policy that Schwyzer helped write.

Porn industry considers its options

The porn industry spent much of the past few days considering its options now that Los Angeles County voters have approved Measure B. The ordinance requires that condoms should be used in porn movies shot in LA.

Not so fast. First of all it won’t apply in Long Beach, Vernon or Pasadena.

But it also won’t apply in other cities in the county, unless (and until) the various city councils decide to adopt Measure B’s provisions. At least that’s the opinion of adultbizlaw.com in a post titled “Ballot Measure B – So What Happens Now?”
porn actresses get together

In order for this law to take effect in cities such as Los Angeles, Glendale, Malibu or any of the 85 independent towns and cities in Los Angeles County – each one of those cities will have to independently debate, vote on and themselves pass/adopt Ballot Measure B as law in their town. How long will that take is anyone’s guess at this point. And it is not certain that all 85 independent towns and cities will even adopt Ballot Measure B. I can envision a situation in which some of the smaller towns that do not have any contact with the adult entertainment industry will simply ignore this law entirely.

Meanwhile the folks behind Measure B are looking for ways to take it statewide.

This from the Long Beach Press-Telegram:

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation said Thursday it is seeking a state lawmaker to carry a bill that would broaden the power of the state and local governments to enforce health codes requiring condom use on porn sets.

Stay tuned. it’s going to get interesting.

San Marino man accused of possession of child pornography

SAN MARINO — A San Marino man already convicted of using a hidden camera to take photos up the skirts of unsuspecting women was behind bars again Wednesday, accused of possessing images of child pornography.
Police arrested Justin Kerong Chen, 18, Tuesday while serving a search warrant at his home, San Marino police officials said in a written statement.
He remained jailed Wednesday at the Alhambra Police Department’s jail in lieu of $20,000 bail pending a scheduled arraignment Thursday in Alhambra Superior Court, according to county booking records.
San Marino police began investigating Chen in connection with child pornography after information was developed while investigating him for different crimes earlier this year, San Marino police Detective Susana Franco said.
He was arrested in March after police found him in possession of burglary tools, as well as a “covert camera” which he had been using to take surreptitious photographs up women’s skirts in public, the detective said.
“Follow-up investigation led detectives to Chen’s residence, where, with the assistance of the South Pasadena Police Department, a search warrant was executed without incident,” San Marino police officials said in a written statement.
Chen was convicted of possession of burglary tools and electronic peeping with a camera and sentenced to three years of summary probation in June, Franco said.
As detectives investigated Chen and built a case against him for the electronic peeping case, they discovered that he had images of child pornography on his computer, the detective said.
They obtained a search warrant from a judge and arrived at Chen’s home shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday in search of additional images, Franco said.
“Several” images were recovered from Chen’s computer and other electronic media involving “younger” children, she added. Investigators had no information to indicate Chen was involved in the creation of any of the images.
Chen was booked on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

Up-scale prostitution ring broken up in Pasadena

PASADENA – Authorities have broken up what they’re calling a “high-end,” multi-million dollar prostitution ring that used expensive apartments in Pasadena and Irvine and employed numerous female prostitutes, officials announced Wednesday.

Pasadena police’s Special Investigations Unit and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents worked for two years investigating the alleged ring, arresting six people and seizing cash, automobiles, jewelry and other property, officials said in a news release.

Police identified two of the main suspects as Li Chen, a 32-year-old female of Temple City, and Thanh Ly, a 35-year-old male from Temple City.

They were described as leaders of the ring. Both were booked on suspicion of pimping and pandering. Each was being held on $2 million bail.

An anonymous call left on a tip line led to the discovery of the ring.

“Prostitution is not a victimless crime, as some would argue,” Interim Chief of Police Christopher Vicino said in a news release. “It negatively impacts the quality of life and the very fabric of the community. The neighborhoods and apartments where these crimes were committed will ultimately be safer for the families that live in them.”

Alleged child molester enters plea

Gregory Scott Serrano, 33, of Monrovia, entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment Friday in his child molestation and child pornograhpy case, according to officials from the district attorney’s office:

PASADENA — A Monrovia man suspected of luring 10 teenage girls via the Internet to molest them and take pornographic pictures of them appeared in court last week, officials said.
Gregory Scott Serrano, 33, entered a not guilty plea Friday at the Pasadena Superior Court, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office officials said.
Serrano is charged with 20 counts of child molestation stemming from the alleged molestations, which are believed to date back to June of 2006, said United Stated Attorney Joey Blanch, who is prosecuting the case.
The alleged victims are between 13 and 17 years old, Blanch said.
Serrano allegedly used social networking Web site such as MySpace.com and Netlog.com to meet the underage girls, Blanch said.
He was arrested March 12 after a 15-year-old girl told her parents that Serrano had molested her, officials said.
In addition to the local charges, Serrano has also been indicted federally on suspicion of 23 crimes including using the Internet to entice minors, producing and possessing child pornography and destroying evidence.
If convicted on the federal charges, Serrano could face life in prison, Blanch said.
Serrano is due back in court June 30 for a pre-trial conference, officials said.
