Pomona: June 2008 Archives
The FBI Tuesday released the preliminary results of its Uniform Crime Report. There's some interesting stuff buried in the stats from area cities with populations over 100,000.
For example:
Pasadena had 74 percent increase in rapes and West Covina had a 62 percent increase in rapes.
Violent crime in El Monte was up 9.2 percent; the national average saw a 1.4 decrease.
Norwalk saw a 7 percent increase in violent crime. Most of the increases in both cities can be attributed to assaults.
