Glendora police seek stolen classic cars

GLENDORA >> Police are asking the public to keep an eye open for two classic cars — a 1968 Pontiac GTO Convertible and a a 1931 Chevrolet 5-Window Coupe and — stolen in Glendora in separate incident over recent months.
0709_NWS-SGT-L-CLASSICS1The Pontiac GTO, valued at about $30,000, disappeared from the parking lot of L.A. Fitness, 820 S. Grand Avenue, between 7:10 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on June 29, Glendora police Detective Zach Houser said. The car was gray with chrome trim and has a California license plate of 7EDM237.
The Chevrolet Coupe, which was valued at about $20,000, vanished from a locked residential garage in the 200 block of South Sunflower Avenue between the evening of May 26 and May 27, the 0709_NWS-SGT-L-CLASSICS2detective said. An unknown thief or thieves pried a pedestrian entry door to get into the garage before fleeing with the antique automobile. The coupe was primer black with a California license plate of 7GQX857.
No solid link had been established between the two thefts.
“We don’t have any evidence that they’re other than they’re not your typical stolen car,”’ Houser said.
