Nogales has narrowed the search for its next football coach to two candidates and an announcement appears imminent, sources close to the situation say.

The final two candidates DO NOT have local ties. Nogales had about 30 applicants, including several former area head coaches. The school interviewed eight candidates. The school is awaiting principal Dr. Nancy Padilla’s decision.

Nogales will join the Valle Vista League next season, which has many people believing the Nobles will be more competitive. Nogales was 3-17 the past two seasons under Vito Saracino.
