While we’re talking Rosemead, here’s the ’10 sked …

Panthers ’10 schedule:

Game 1: Montebello
Game 2: @Rowland
Game 3: @San Marino
Game 4: San Gabriel
Game 5: @Temple City
Game 6: Gabrielino
Game 7: @Arroyo
Game 8: @Mountain View
Game 9: South El Monte
Game 10: El Monte

Aram’s take: There really isn’t one breather in that nonleague schedule. I mean, maybe Montebello, but that is a season opener so it’s not like Rosemead will be overlooking it. After that, the Panthers head to Rowland where they’ll see just what type of defense they’re working with against Mikey Ball and Da Raidizz. The league schedule is obvious. Sucks that the Arroyo game is the second game of league. I’d like to see the two MVL powerhouses square off in Week 10 every year. I’ll be honest, the worst-case scenario that I see is Rosemead being 8-2 going into playoffs. That’s with losses to Rowland and Arroyo. But the Panthers could certainly win those games, however. See where I’m going with this? You’re looking at one of the area’s better sleeper teams for ’10.

Great schedule for a Mid Valley team. I just dont see a Hart type of a team on the schedule. Mead we are waiting to nip that panther Azz Lower Azusa belongs to Arroyo.

  • Nuts&Boltz

Hands down the toughest schedules in the Mid Valley are:

    1. Monrovia
    2. San Dimas
    3. Arroyo

all other teams play No one.

Do an article on Mid Valley Toughest schedules, if anyone cares.

If they can’t get through Montebello they certainly won’t be getting by Rowland, SG, or perhaps any RHL team. Just because Arroyo schedules a team that is waaaay out of their league doesn’t mean they will be any good. Great schedule really looking forward to the outcome of ALL games.

Arroyo knight, I remember when SG scheduled a tough team “serra” and SG got whooped 0-53, the only thing learned out of that was embarrassment….same will be with Arroyo vs hart. Don’t forget that Rosemead almost had South hills a couple years ago…who has Arroyo almost beat that was any good compared to SH??

You play a tough preseason to get ready for league games, CIF games or just to challenge the players and see how they react. You don’t get better beating up on Keppel, Bassett, Workman, Blair and Mtn. View. And if the team falls apart after getting beat by a quality program then you know you don’t have the kind of team that can battle through adversity. Every game is important, but in my opinion it is the game after a tough match-up that is the most important. No one is saying the MVL can compete week in and week out with the SE. But where is the harm in lining up against quality teams and seeing how your team reacts? Why do you think SH plays La Habra and Tesoro?

  • Azusa Pride

    Azusa Sked…

    Kepple
    Mtn View
    La Verne Lutheran
    Center Middle School

    Then a tough league schedule….lol

Hey, they’ll probably be #1 in the division when the playoffs start!! What a joke.

    whats arcadias sked???

I admit that the Rosemead schedule is a bit of a downgrade, but where were you clowns when Rosemead was playing: Harvard Westlake, South Hills, Piedmont Hills, or Los Altos over the last three years. Rosemead has always scheduled tough opponents! Maybe the panthers are playing San Gabriel because they battle for the same kids; maybe there are playing San Marino because Koffler and Mooney have a USC connection! I’m not here to throw Monrovia or San Dimas under the bus for their scheduling because i don’t know who they have played over the last five years or so, but i am curious!

  • Goldenarm

monrovia really upped the ante for next year.

As far as tough scheduling – hard to surpass what Muir chews on pre-league, especially weeks 1-3.

  • OK

ok rowland is gonna destroy rosemead..rowland is going to be really good this year

  • Rowland ?

Rowland has two major issues they need to work on.

    the runniing back spot.

    depth at every position.

Then they got to get through Wesco and DRanch.
