Aram’s take: OK, I have some questions. Where are the Muir kids? La Salle? South Pasadena? St. Francis? There are FIVE guys from Roosevelt on the West. And don’t even ask about the East. I’m still waiting on those rosters.

You’re doing a good job so far AT.

Keep working it. You have some good questions there.

Now what I want to know is with four Roughriders on the West squad, where is my boy Alatriste?

  • Congratulaiton to Mr. Escoe – go bulldogs!

However, I know of at least “2” Muir student/athlete that should have been included. I’ll wait for the reprint; this has to be an editorial mistake.

Four Monrovia guys is great. I give Maddox a lot of credit for that.

As for no Muir players: It is disturbing considering that Brownfield founded this game, but there has been a trend over the past few years of Muir’s players going to the Fiesta game.

It was probaly base on positions. skilled compared to linemen available? what positions are the muir players? or probaly did not show up to sign up? ask the muir players…

This is freaken hillarious!!! 5 kids from Roosevelt??? When did this become the East L.A. Classic? Doesnt the Whittier area have their own all-star game? (605 all-star game). As far as the talent on the West, this is embarrasing. Kids from Keppel, Gabby, etc. Since when did players who played for under 500 teams make all-star games. Sad to say but this is a very down year for the West side, no big name players at all

Where the heck are the Muir and PHS Kids? I played in this game back in the 80’s and made some great friends from those schools. From the looks of this line up they should just move the Arcadia Kids to the East squad..Brownsfield was a huge part of this game, I remember him shaking my hand and telling me watching me play reminded him of the time he coached my father at El Monte.. I’ve gotta agree with Truth said: this talent pool is WEAK they’re gonna get rocked.

    Eagle Rock?
    Mark Keppel?

    are we missing something here?

Why are these schools in the Hall of Fame game. I know some old Eagle rock Coaches are coaching at SG under Jude and now that keith jones has nothing to lose. But this has got to stop. DO NOT sell your soul. Keep the SGV in the SGV. Where are the Pasadena Kids? The Muir? The Rosemead? The LaSalle? South El Monte El Monte Kids? only 1 from Monrovia? Aram when is the last time not one player from Rosemead, St. Francis Pasadena or Muir? I give up West Coaches are a joke.

  • Rosemead is represented by Javier Sanchez, but I understand your point.

The reason there is no Muir kids is that there coach failed to send in any kids to be recommended by the committee. It is a shame that a game that is going to be honoring a legend Jim Brownfield former Muir High Coach that there coach drops the ball and doesn’t recomend not one player, so please don’t put the blame on the coaches they can’t pick a player that is not recommended be a school’s coach.

  • Coach DAWWGER

COngrats to Kiss and Josh from Monrovia. It was an honor to coach you guys at MHS in 2006..10-0 Freshmen team.

This Looks More Like a Soccer Allstar Game, than a Football Allstar Game. Except for Josh Lowden, Kizz Prussia, Grant Haggard and Matthew O’Malley

  • Goldenarm

I don’t know about the soccer game theory, but that is 4 respectable kids representing the RHL.

Both Haggard (Monrovia) and O’Malley (Temple City)had brothers before them who were All CIF/ All Stars, etc.

Mike, Kyle and Matt O”Malley were all studs at TC, where once upon a time, linemen were held in high esteem. Matt may be the last of a dying breed of Ram, the semi-psycho, hell bent to the quarterback, run over the blocker, kind of kid. Agility, power, instinct and attitude are what made these players stand out early on. They were good on day one, but became true impact players when directed by good, solid coaching.

Whenever Monrovia needed a big stop, Lowden found a way last year. Where is he going to school next year?

Even so, the East squad looks to do damage against the West. Too much skill and size.
