Glendora QB Chad Jeffries to miss three weeks with shoulder injury …

Glendora QB Chad Jeffries just texted me to say he has a separated ac ligament in his shoulder and will miss the next three weeks.

With just three games left and the Tartans battling for their playoff lives, that means Jeffries’ senior season could be over.

Aram’s take: Would be very sad if we’ve seen Jeffries play his last game in a Glendora uniform.

That’s a shame. I enjoyed watching Jeffries play. He singles handedly beat us last year. I wish him a speedy recovery and the best of luck in the future.

  • Anyone Know?

There’s another Crook who is the quarterback on the freshman team whose looks real good and is 6’2.Is that Jacob and Garret Crooks brother?

  • Sparta

Hate to hear the bad news, what a great hardworking kid. Remember last year Damien just pounding him play after play with no help from his O line and he just hung in there all night.
Look towards your future at SDSU and we wish you all the best.

  • GHS

crook is real good. I have watched him play a game at etiwanda and a home game against West Covina i think. The kid is taller than pucci. But I dont think he is 6’2

  • videoman

The guy that should get more time in the Tartan backfield is Demetrius Hicks. Every time this kid get’s a chance to play he bust’s his butt! He runs hard all the time and has had some very nice runs from scrimage and some long kickoff returns as well.

  • I go away and this thing blows up.

I deleted just about anything Pucci.

To be honest, I don’t consider it bashing to say a dad shopped his kid (whether he did or didn’t) or that a kid isn’t ready to be a varsity QB, or the reason he is, is because of daddy. You’re not ready for the high school sports culture if that kind of stuff bothers you.

Follow the pattern: Star QB gets hurt, fans want to discuss what’s next. Disagreement over who gets the nod. Angry fan (family member?) asserts coach’s choice is politics. Then come assertions the coach’s are idiots. It’s textbook, really. But nobody does it better than Glendora. Part of what makes you guys such a great community for families/kids/sports is also what sometimes makes you look bad.

There were a couple of other things that were uncalled for (obviously deleted now).

Also, it’s too bad because about 90 percent of the stuff I deleted was Pucci family positive. But the good goes with the bad.

As for now, unless you want to come on here and wish Pucci or Crook good luck, or have something constructive to say about the QB situation, then please don’t bother.

Also, how about wishing Bad Chad Jeffries a speedy recovery? Remember, this thread was about his injury and we’ve got arguably the best QB around faced with the prospect of missing the rest of his senior year. Sucks!

  • An Observation

I have seen the two quarterbacks that are true freshman and the taller one that is the freshman QB is a lot more advanced in the offense it seemed than the one playing on the JV team, granted I have only seen them the last three weeks. At the least the freshman QB is 6’2.

  • SD

look size is very overrated who cares really about size?? its about feet! Shawn Kennedy not tall at all about 5’10 but has pretty good feet and knows where his guys are at! Billy Livingston pretty tall probably 6’1 he has great feet and gets it done! if you think size has something to do it really doesn’t! actually one more Look at MIKE MCD what was he 5’8 and look what he did!

  • knoww

the jv qb is better no questions asked height or no height. And his father has nothing to do with his success. The kid works hard and his father has done almost nothing u guys have said about him. You should know the facts before u say them, and i hope u all realize that having the name crook does not give the kid automatic success and neither does height. I know both the kids and there abilities are not comparable

  • ghs guy

whoever was the person that said the more athletic kid was crook obviously does not know the two kids these kids are both great kids and from what i know they know each other and are friends but the better athlete is clear…Pucci but ghs needs to stick tgether

  • They all fall down

This blog was hard to read. It is sad to see how 1 bad season causes all of the GHS fans to crumble. If I was coach P, I’d get out quick. Seems like GHS has a bunch of demented parents who think their kids doo doo doesn’t stink. Then the parents come on here and start verbally attacking one another WOW is all I can say. Losing is a part of life…get used to it!

My kid has had the privledge of playing with both Crook and Pucci over the years and would be considered friends with both of them. I know both the Crook family and the Pucci family personally and I know what amazing families they are and how much they have contributed to the Glendora community. It is upsetting that some feel that either family is playing up one or the other on this blog. I don’t think either family is that low. It is safe to agree that both boys work hard and are extremely talented at such a young age. I wish Pucci and Crook the best in the future. ghs guy is right. Glendora has got to stick together. That is the only way we will succeed.

  • QB Coach

I have been doing this a long time and have posted my evaluations about many of the QBs in the valley on this blog. Pure evaluation: Crook does not have the footwork or the accuraccy to be call a good QB YET. At this point Pucci has both (recall his 7 on 7 performances). Both have what I will call acceptable arm strenght. Size will be factor in years to come but it is NOT a seperator today. Both have had their highs and lows this year but have represented themslves well.
All that being said if I needed a QB today on my team it would be Pucci, overall he has been better prepared and he is the more athletic.
    Good Luck to both KIDS.

  • Jokes On The Adults

Knowing both kids I’m pretty sure they are texting each other going did you see what that QB Coach and GHS guy said about us and having a good laugh at stupid JAA adults who know nothing about nothing.

  • This is a perfect example

2 bloggers post an opinion not in favor of one QB. Both were none attacking or anything a child should be protected from. Then a family member feels the needs to blog a statement trying discredit someone else opinion just to make you kid feel better. Until this type of behavior changes in our community where people are more concerned about egos and images our team will never get better.

  • Ding…Ding..Ding…We have a winner

Perfect example hit the nail on the head. In today’s society we make ourselves feel better by putting someone else down instead of working harder to beat them. This is the example parents are setting for their kids….what a shame!

  • Take it from Aram

    Ding ding, Perfect example,
What the real shame is Aram posted this kind thread to maybe wish the GHS qb a speedy recovery and from that leads to community chaos. Glendora stop embarrasing yourself with ridiculous comments.

  • tdro

Very interested to see Glendora’s approach this week without Chad. Shouldn’t have much trouble with Alta Loma.. Will they just run all over the AL defense or air it out a little and prepare their young QB(s) for the final two games against Upland and Rancho?

Best of luck to Chad; he should do great at the next level!

  • Food for thought

All the banter may be for nothing. CIF has pretty strict rules when it comes to a freshman playing Varsity Football on any football team. The reason is the absolute risk that is football. This is not for or against. These are just the facts.

Quartback in general is one of the toughest positions on the field. You have to give credit to all the young men (including Pucci or Crook of course) for going out there and giving it their best. Its one thing to get the training and a whole other getting the plays down, making the throw, not getting hit, checking off, etc.

    You’re a joke, you Hack!

Freedom of speech. What exactly was in my post that made you take it down? Other than the truth, J–ka-s.

Pull your balls out of Robledo’s purse and quit covering up for these lackluster coaches. You are soooo afraid to report the news for fear that you won’t get that Pulitzer interview with the coaches after yet another loss. Have you not witnessed the interviews he gives, man groundbreaking stuff!

Your computer should be given to charity. Journalist my A–!

Why did you get into Journalism in the first place.

Because you had an open forum to voice your “opinion”!

It seems now, you are redefining the Constitution all by yourself.

Chad just texted me”, shut the F up! You should go back under the rock you recently climbed out from under.

Yo KIMBO SLICE,(OF STUPITY), and are you the same KIMBO SLICE, who fought for the UFC? Wow you both run your mouths, and look hard, but CRY when you take one on the CHIN.

    Your out of Control…

  • Kimbo Slice (of Reality)

    Just Sayin-

What did I take on the chin, exactly?

You sound like someone who has experience from having something on your chin. Think Tea Bag!

In my post I was referring to Aram pulling down posts. In my original post I didn’t say one bad thing about any kid.

Sounds like mommy didn’t show you enough love growing up or coddle you in the typical fashion you need to feel better about yourself.

If you feel I am running my mouth, come find out for yourself. Citrus College 7pm Friday. It’s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. Please enlighten me as to how or what I am running my mouth about genius.

The best Qb around? Against who Aram? What is G-town record against the best comp? You guys over in SGV land contiune to crack me up.

I was at the CO game, and nothing impressed me about Glendora or Pasqy tarty boys.

    Now what?
