Azusa talked the talk but couldn’t walk the walk….That’s what happens when your mouth gets in the way of the game. 10-0 and washed out in the first round….what a joke.

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvfootball/2010/11/video-aram-and-fred-wrap-up-round-1-of-the-playoffs.html just an old coach

Aram & Fred: “Go easy on Azusa”…… Seriously!?! IF you had spent all the time claiming the upset as you did claiming Azusa was the real deal you would not be saying “Go easy on Azusa”. How about next time you do a week wrap up you spend some more time eating crow and apologizing for the horrendous hype and predication you gave Azusa. To be honest, you caused much of the anti-Azusa rhetoric you will be reading for the next week.
Do we really need to go over all that was said about Azusa over the past few days that was just plain wrong…….

  • Dan

    Aram, Fred,
Don’t give us the Tribune jinx! Please, no hype on West Covina, Do not put us at number 1 in your top twenty five, and would you mind picking against us for the rest of the post season. let us fly under the radar. I would advise the both of you to jump on the Bonita bandwagon they have been on a roll, or better yet jump on the Muir bandwagon, they are getting pretty scary these last few weeks with impressive wins over Burroughs and last night La Mirada. Just having fun with you guy’s, this Southeast division is getting real exciting real fast, Bonita and Muir should be a barn burner of a game, two offensive juggernauts[spelling?] going toe to toe. Read somwhere that Muir ran a lot of Wildcat last night against La Mirada, QB Kevon Seymore had a bunch of touchdowns with it. I saw them in passing league and they have speeed speeed and more speed.
La Serna got a small dose of SGV reality with Walnut last night, nice job by the Mustangs this year and great season for Walnut. A couple of La Serna posters on here were already clearing a space at the school trophy case for that CIF trophy. Wonder if their still as confident in their Lancers knowing Walnut was the 4th place team from the Hacienda that took their team into overtime, and that an even scarrier Bonita or Muir team are right around the corner if they get by Norwalk.
As a fan I’m not taking Santa Fe lightly, I saw them come just an eight yard blocked field goal away from beating Bonita this year. They also have a revenge factor from the 04 season on their minds. They just beat a good Burbank team pretty easily. Their team is well coached and has plenty of talent and size. A physical defense that swarms to the ball with a monster of a linebacker in the middle, from what I remember he was like 6’4″ and around 230/240 lbs. He was a beast in the middle. Also read somewhere that they made a few changes these past weeks that seem to be working well for them. Bulldogs need to be ready to battle each and every play till the whistle blows, keep their focus, play smart, no penaltys and tuck that ball in high and tight.
To all the teams and fans [Both upper and lower divisions] that didn’t win last night, congratulations on a good season and in making the playoffs, good luck next year and get on out and support the remaining teams in the SGV, it helps pass the time over these next few weeks as the bummer of a seasons end sinks in.

  • Just Wondering

La Puente lost by only thirteen to Maranatha. La Puente got a whole lot better as the season wore on. I can only imagine what a La Puente Azusa game would have looked like later on in the season instead of game one.
The Warriors have nothing to be ashamed about last night. Great game to watch going back and forth.

  • Colt74

How did Covina do last night?

  • jcaz

    Fred,

I for one am glad you took the time to mention to the blogers tat they should be cool with Aztecs. They had a fine season, but as you can see, on your blog they have been nothing but merciless azz holes.

  • AZTEC PRIDE

Thanks Jcaz. Come on lets be real here, other then myself,AZTEC PRIDE, who else from AZUSA was running their mouths??? Come on name some one else…. well that’s what I thought, and when a team does go 10-0, how can you over look us! By the way Fred and Aram, were also stating COVINA sould have been the Number 1 seed! Aram and Fred pull that story out of the archives. Fred also stated he also voted for Covina in the polls.

But guess what the CIF people voted AZUSA the #1 seed and couldn’t care less what was said on these BLOGS! To tell you truth I believe (I) was the only one making a fuss about it and laughing, because I couldn’t believe they, CIF HAD DONE THAT!

OOOOOOHHHH YES, THEH CAME ALL THE BOOO HOOO’S FROM THE COVINA BLOGGERS! WE WANT TO BE NUMBER 1, WELL HELL, NOW I wish you would have, so AZUSA could have played La Canada, and not Village Christian!

LOOK PEOPLE, AZUSA DIDN’T GET BLOWN OUT LAST NIGHT OKAY, YES I WAS THERE, HELL AZUSA SHOULD HAVE WON, BUT SOMETIMES YOU DON’T GET THE BREAKS.

AZUSA IS WINNING IN THE FOURTH QTR. 24-16, WITH FOUR MINUTES LEFT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. AZUSAS stops VC with third down, and like seven yards for the first down for VC. What happens, A player from AZUSA hits the running back real hard and he fumbles the ball, and guess what happens? THE BALL MOVES 6 YARDS FORWARD FOR THE FIRST DOWN! COME ON, HOW LUCKY IS THAT! IF!!!!! AZUSA GET THE BALL WE WIN BOTTOM FREAKIN LINE! WELL VC RECOVERS SCORES A TOUCHDOWN,SCORES THE TWO POINT CONVERSION AND TIES UP THE GAME! WELL AZUSAS, offense DOES NOT MOVE THE BALL, AND VC IS PUMP UP, AND THE REST IS HISTORY!

GREAT MEMORY GAME FOR VC, VERY BAD FOR AZUSA!

AZUSA HOLD YOUR HEAD UP! THE GAME WAS IN YOUR GRASP.

SORRY HEARING ALL THIS CRAP, IS KIND OF GETTING TO ME NOW! PLEASE IF YOU WERE (NOT)AT THE GAME! HOLD YOUR TONGUE! HELL THE VERY FIRST DRIVE, AZUSA MARCHES DOWN AND SCORES. THE FIRST HALF ENDS AND AZUSA GOES IN WINNING 17-16. AND YES I KNOW ALL THAT MATTERS IS SCORE BOARD!

FRED AND ARAM, YOUR FIRST RATE SPORT WRITERS, BECAUSE IF YOU WERE’NT, I WOULD BE ON THE RAMS BLOG.LOL

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND I’M SURE AZUSA APPRECIATED IT!

    AZTEC PRIDE!

P.S. LA PUENTE FAN,WOW YOU GUYS NEVER SEEM TO AMAZE ME! YOU STILL WANT TO PLAY AZUSA. LOL…

  • Colt74

Covina should have played Village Christian and Azusa La Canada. I wonder if they did not schedule it that way because Covina could have played 2 teams from one league back to back?

  • PONY EXPRESS

AZTEC PRIDE YOU STILL HAVE THE PASSING LEAGUE TROPHY!!!
I TOLD YOU ONE AND DONE!!!

  • wee willie

Hey AZZTEC- now why dont you go out and find a real job now? You have been spouting all year and now your team has LOST.

Go away!!!! and take that whackjob from Amat with you!! See you next year when you have something to be wrong about

  • Lancer Dad

Yes we got a little dose of SGV but now were really. we have tape on both your teams and we see nothing great about the sgv team but who know. whoever win the boys and team deserve it. Good luck to all school and kept it clean. We will get by norwalk we just have to look forward for the sgv school.

  • Hukt on Fonix

Wow! “Lancer Dad” is La Serna’s answer to Bonita’s KH. Go back to those remedial english classes and come back next week

  • Hefe

LOL Freddy & Aram look like they’re ready to jump off a bridge.

I love that Amat lost. A LOT (not ALL) of Amat homers needed this playoff loss to be brought back down to earth. A little too much Lancer ego this season, IMO.

  • Anonymous

Someone in here said take it easy on azusa. Are you kidding me. Thjs Aztec Pride dude has been on here spouting off all week. No one told him to hold off. Listen once again you had better be glad they didn’t let the 4th seed in the Olympic in. If that team plays Rosemead, Temple City, they win. And the definately give a better showing than the team Monrovia played. Oh yea by the way Monrovia, get past your next opponent befor you start worrying about Maranatha. Thats the very thing that causes disappointment. Focus on your next agenda and everything will fall where they will. For all these people in here talking about San Demas vs. Monrovia in the quarter finals. Dont be so quick. As Azusa proved anyone can be beaten on any given friday night. These teams are evenly matched. Once again IF Maranatha can stop the big play the game is over befor it starts. But they haven’t stopped it all year. So they are not gonna stop it now. I know they have to have someone on that sideline that can stop the gushing in that defense.. MHS listen to me. No one in the league can beat you if you stop the big play. Your offense is the highest scoring offense in the league. No matter how hard defenses try they cant stop you from putting up numbers. Unfortunately your defense cant stop anyone else from putting up numbers either. Good luck vs. San Demas. Tone up that defense, and congratulations on you CIF SS DIV 11 Championship. If not, you will be just another good team.

  • no justice, even in a win!!!!

Hey Anon, obviously you dont really know the game of football. Do you really think that teams will not give up points whether they are from big plays or drives? You have no idea the makeup of our team at all. We are playing so many first year seniors and underclassmen and to top it off we have been doing it since week 7 without our best defensive player Chris Cornel. Everyone is a coach on here, everyone has all the answers, bottom line pal is as long as the defense allows one less point than the Offense scores dont we win the game? But hey thanks for the advice, Im sure the coaching staff will really take all your wisdom into consideration when they are putting together their game plan to stop a very potent, explosive, well oiled machine in San Dimas.

  • COLT 76

Why no mention of Covina in your conversation.Any team that makes it to the CIF playoffs is a deserving opponent.La Canada played their heart out, they just didnt have it this year.As we move in the playoffs the games are going to get tougher. You will be talking about Covina in the next few weeks. This is their year!!!

  • http://azusa football fan

    stinks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Stuff

AZTEC PRIDE YOU STILL HAVE THE PASSING LEAGUE TROPHY!!!

    Priceless!

  • Goldenarm

    AZTEC PRIDE

You played who was in front of you and went 10-0. Where is there any shame in that?

I don’t think anyone from Aztec Central has come out and claimed a dynasty was in the making or that Azusa is a powerhouse football program. However, the program is a growing and improving program being directed by very sound leadership. I think Scherf and crew know better than anyone here what they need to do to get stronger and compete in CIF bracket play.

Karma lives large in football – and to those guys kicking an already bruised scotum – don’t be shocked when the bottom falls out on your favorite team. Only time separates you from that truth.

  • SaintsR4real

Would be nice to see CIF place Azusa in the Vale Vista league. Would help Azusa’s strength and the leagues.

  • Colt74

Seriously….and we could give them Wilson. But that wouldn’t work…Because then we would have the entire Hacienda league pissed off at us……

    Nevermind………

  • Colt74

    Dis I say Hacienda?…meant Montview

    Must be bed time….
