Mid-Valley Division championship between Monrovia and Whittier Christian will be played on Saturday at ARCADIA HS …

Just got word from CIF that Saturday night’s Mid-Valley Division championship will be played at Arcadia High School.

Monrovia originally wanted the game on its home field, but Whittier Christian balked at the idea. Representatives from CIF and the two schools surveyed Monrovia’s field today and decided to move the game to Arcadia HS.

Aram’s take: Playing this game at Monrovia HS was the worst idea I’ve heard since the KFC double down.

Shame on Monrovia folks for trying to play dirty and insisting on making the game miserable for everyone.

Yes they do play dirty, number #53 and number 18,and by the way, there is no #53 on monrovia’s roster… why is that? just so happens he played dirty.. Whittier, practice up on cheating skills….you will need it….

    Listen up ‘Cats!

You’re gonna play Whittier Christian. First, they aren’t from Whittier, they’re from La Habra. Second, they don’t wanna play at your home field, even though Monrovia won the home field advantage.

Lying isn’t Christian, nor is denying others their rights. Watch out for sneaky, trick plays and the other guys whining to the officials. Protect yourselves at all times.

    GO ‘CATS!!!

I don’t blame Monrovia for wanting to play a home game the same I don’t blame Whittier Christian for trying to move it, your responsibility is to your school and your players. I covered Rio Hondo Prep in 2004 when they played Hamilton on their home turf in Anza, where it was 30 degrees. Monrovia won the coin flip, it’s their right to try and host a home game. They would be doing their team a disservice if they didn’t try to put them in the best position to win, which is at home.

  • Yeh yeh yeh

Glad we got that out of the way…it’s kind of hard to enjoy a game worrying if your car is going to still be where you parked it (1/2 mile away) when the game is over. Now lets get ready for some football. Did you know that both of Monrovia’s loses this season were on the road? Not only that but Whittier Christain has won all 3 of their play-off games “on the road.” Could this be the start of that Monrovia “JINX” thing everyone talks about?

The Red Storm is coming to Arcadia! Since when is a CIF Championship game played on a team’s home field? It’s really bizarre. I just assumed that it would be at a bigger location like the other divisions that play at Anaheim Stadium. I wasn’t thinking a venue that large, but maybe Citrus college, APU, or PCC since they are relatively close to Monrovia High. Should be a fun game to watch. May God keep both teams safe and may the refs call a good and fair game. Amen

  • Yeh yeh yeh

…in all fairness, the parking situation at Arcadia HS isn’t all that great neither.

Why is is a bad idea? They won the coin flip – they get home field. Of course Jackson is going to fight for it. Who wouldnt’? The parking at Arcadia is even worse! ha ha !

  • ha ha ha

    why cheat and shame:

Are you two idiots really gonna use cheating as your excuse for losing the game? That’s pretty lame. Move on!!!

big cat. you make no sense.

Look, Monrovia is playing at arcadia, and the visiting stands arent really the greatest, but alot of visiting stands arent, so I dont see why Whittier is really crying about it, but whatever, we’re playing at arcadia, the parking situation is as bad, if not worst, but if you want for sure parking, park at the library across the street. and get some exercise and walk! Monrovia has won at arcadia’s field 3times I believe??? So in a sense, the wildcats own that field, so in a way…its a home away from home hahahahaha

It doesn’t matter where this game is being played.

Whittier Christian is going to win their third CIF championship on Saturday night.

  • Hefe

Excuse me, make that their 5th CIF title.

HeavyHitter re: 7 out of 13 games are played at home teams field.
Google Earth those teams playing at home. Their visitor seating puts Monrovia’s to shame. I truly believe the tax paying citizens of Monrovia should check into the money spent on that stadium. I think that Robert Rizzo from the City of Bell might have been in charge of funds dispersal.
