MIDNIGHT MADNESS: Los Altos to hold first fall practice at MIDNIGHT on Sunday night/Monday morning …

Los Altos coach Dale Ziola will hold his team’s first practice of the season at MIDNIGHT Sunday evening/Monday morning.

Like most area teams, Los Altos is scheduled to begin fall practice on Aug. 15. However, most area teams are going to wait until early morning to hold their first session. Not Los Altos. The Conquerors will get the jump on everyone by starting right at midnight with a 90-minute workout under the lights in their stadium.

“We were 0-10 last year, so I want to do something to get them fired up,” said Ziola, who is in his first year as head coach of the Conquerors.

  • wow!

    That would make me transfer!

Sounds like fun! Gotta try something new to get the kids motivated.

Wow, something tells me you never played High School Football, lol!

This seems pretty interesting, ive never heard of a midnight practice but it seems like a good idea to get the players pumped up for the season. LA looks way more improved and the coaches have done a great job with these kids. If they stay healthy and motivated they just might make some noise in the Hacienda

  • foootbaalll time!!!!!

    El Rancho- Win
    Bellflower- Win
    Wilson- Win
    Ayala- Lose
    Walnut- Win
    Rowland- Win
    Diamond Ranch- Lose
    Bonita- Lose
    West Co-Lose
    Diamond Bar- ??

My prediction for the conquerors is a much more improved record, strong defensive line, good quarterback, improved skilled players, but still lack the depth and size. I see them starting strong in their preseason games and i think there last game against diamond bar can be desisive in making the playoffs. Each game will be a challenge and i think they have something to play for after a disaster year last year

  • Dan

I agree, something new and it will be fun, good idea coach, good luck this year. I saw the Los Altos linemen at the Arroyo tournament and they look like they’ve been hitting the weightroom, lots of big armed pigeon chested kids over there.

Never heard of a midnight football practice, but I like the enthusiasm!

Coach is making a point that LA intends to avoid last years debacle…or at the very least ‘go down swinging’.

    Go Conqs !!!!

  • really foootballllllllllllllllll time

If the 4 players from Wilson that tore up Los Altos at your house last year are all coming back – JR Nelson, Hawk. Czarnick, and QB Morales 33-10 (and your only TD was due to #15′s endzone 15 yd penalty antics, why do you think you will have a win this year playing at their house.

Remember, the players have not forgotten about what happened at the LA-Wilson game 2 years ago when the LA mob of 200 hudlums and gang bangers ran on the field while the game was in progress, the 4′ by 6′ poster of that mob will be in the lockerroom for this years sophs and frosh who were not there to see

dont bet the house on a LA win

  • Realty sucks

  • Prediction

You need to understand where these LA Fans are coming from, according to Ziola they are on a three year plan,

    2011 .500 record
    2012 League Championship
    2013 CIF Championship

    My Prediction
    2011 0-10
    2012 0-11
    2013 FIRED

  • LAC

How did the practice go last night, sound an inspirational idea

  • sgvhsfan

Great idea, Go LA , lots of people rooting for you

  • wildcats 98

a waste of time if you ask me…0-10 AGAIN!!! GO WILSON

  • hey wildcat 98

actually it wasnt a waste of time, they started somewhat slow and started practicing at 12:05 but at 1:20 in the morning someone brought up the idea of turning the lights on, once they did that the practice went more smoothly

  • Ha Ha

So what you are saying is that they planned this midnight practice and no one brought the key to the lights and you are stupid enough to come on this blog and tell the world.

  • LOL

No, your stupid enough to listen to the wilson bloggers. If LA is so wasting their time, why come on here and waste yours.

  • What happened to the field at LA? Improvements?

What’s going on with the field at LA? Same old crab grass they’ve had for the last couple of seasons. Bassett and LP have turf but we’re playing on a JV field with lights.

Varsity room is now a pool house? What’s going on at LA? Has the administration given up on football? Are we a water polo school now?

  • saladays

    Yes.

  • Go see for yourself

The field at LA is thick, green and brand new! Go see it for your self! By the way…they are also re-doing all the back fields along with upgrading some of the facilities.

  • Not Impressed

Maybe it’s because we see beautiful turf fields all over the Valley but the LA field looks exactly like it does every year at this time. Thick, lumpy, and will be a mess by the beginning of November.

Has the Varsity Room been taken over by the aquatics programs? What’s going on with that? It was always one of the great traditions that the school had.

  • No Help In The Future (David Rivera Jr.)

Asian’s have taken over the community and the school district. Football is no longer a priorty in the HLPUSD. Swimming, badmintion, tennis and the band are the priorties.

If Los Altos was serious about their football program would they have hired a head coach with one year of varsity experience, no less a running back coach.

Be honest with yourself this program maybe able to win one or two games a year and it isn’t going to get any better than that until league relief comes along in another four years. Even then .500, no better.
