Top Freshmen in the area: HELP ME OUT!!!

Answer Aram’s questions. He needs your help when it comes to the fab frosh of the SGV.

This is what I have so far …

Antonio “Noodles” Hull, QB, West Covina: We all know about the hype and the youtube videos and so on. Noodles is up on varsity now and will hopefully develop into somewhat of a Darron Thomas (Oregon QB) for the Bulldogs.

Elijah Jones, RB, Damien: I hear, emphasis on hear, that Jones is the best frosh RB in the Valley. Anybody care to confirm this? He’s the gem of Damien’s freshman class, which is supposed to be very good.

Cordell Broadus, WR, Diamond Bar:
He’s already 6-foot-1 and up on varsity. The D-Bar coaches think they have a special one here and he’s supposedly got the hands and speed to go along with the height.

… NOW I NEED YOUR HELP TO TELL ME WHO I’M MISSING SO THAT I CAN PUT THEM ON THE RADAR.

West Covina pulls Antonio “Noodles” Hull up to varsity, will give him reps at quarterback …

West Covina freshman sensation Antonio “Noodles” Hull has been pulled up to the varsity team and is expected to get reps at quarterback when the Bulldogs’ season resumes on Friday against Los Altos.

Hull, who made a name for himself as member of the Compton Vikings with his dazzling play in rapper Snoop Dogg’s youth football league, played quarterback for West Covina’s frosh team and passed for 442 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 384 yards and six scores.

West Covina had to wait until Hull turned 14 before it could bring him up to varsity, per CIF rules.

Aram’s take:
Let the fun begin.

All-Encompassing SGV(N) Top 25 after Week 7 …

Covina on all cylinders would be a scary sight for just about ANYBODY in the area.

1. Charter Oak (6-1) — Chargers lead Sierra in ppg. (41.8) and ppg allowed (20.7).
2. Bishop Amat (6-2) — Picked a fine time to get highest-quality win of season.
3. West Covina (6-1) — It’s hard trying to find legit Southeast threats to the Bulldogs.
4. Damien (6-1) — Next two weeks will determine Sparty’s season.
5. Covina (7-1) — Offense just has too much balance for any Mid-Valley foe.
6. St. Francis (6-1) — Serra/Chaminade in back-to-back week is very tall order.
7. St. Paul (6-1) — Swordsmen better be at full strength for tough tasks head.
8. La Habra (4-3) — No traffic in the Freeway for the Highlanders (yes, that was weak).
9. Chino Hills (4-3) — Lack of gamebreakers may not hurt as bad vs. Damien as it will CO.
10. San Dimas (5-2) — Still think the Saints are No. 2 in the Mid-Valley.
11. La Serna (6-1) — Showdown set for Friday against resurgent Santa Fe.
12. Arcadia (5-2) — On best night, Apaches are probably biggest threat to WestCo.
13. Whittier Christian (5-3) — Quantum leap in polls after knocking off Maranatha.
14. La Puente (7-0) — Is anyone in the Mid-Valley fearing LP yet?
15. Arroyo (6-1) — Knights face more roadblocks in MVL this year than usual.
16. Alhambra (6-1) — Defense has been stellar, allowing just 10 ppg this season.
17. Maranatha (6-1) — Wake up call last week, now Minutemen are in a must-win.
18. Monrovia (4-3) — The team nobody wants on their side of the bracket in Mid-Valley.
19. Los Altos (6-2) — Bonita loss has Conqs in under serious pressure vs. WestCo.
20. Diamond Ranch (4-4) — 3-1 in league is all you should care about.
21. Pomona (5-3) — SD loss keeps Devils very much alive for VVL’s other playoff bid.
22. Pasadena (4-3) — Averaging 40 ppg in Pacific, but bigger tests await.
23. El Monte (5-2) — Shaping up as a dream season for Lions.
24. Azusa (4-3) — Quiet route into playoffs could be the easier route. Wink wink.
25. Muir (4-3) — Maybe the storm as passed and the ‘Stangs are getting good again.
