Santiago vs. Rivera: The difficult question I’m being asked these days and the difficult answer …

VS.

The question I keep being asked these days is Rivera vs. Santiago, who’s better? My answer is quite simply this:

RIVERA IS TO THE MID-VALLEY DIVISION WHAT SANTIAGO IS TO THE INLAND DIVISION. AND, ARROYO IS TO THE MID-VALLEY DIVISION WHAT CHARTER OAK IS TO THE INLAND DIVISION.

If you’re going to tell me for one second that Santiago would be putting up better numbers than Rivera if he were playing at Arroyo and surrounded by Arroyo’s skill talent and line, then you’re just lost. And if you’re going to tell me that Rivera is not capable of putting up Santiago-like numbers were he to be playing at CO and surrounded by CO’s skill guys, then you’re lost.

Bottom line: These are the best two QBs in the area. And their teams are going to need help draw-wise to last a round or two in their respective playoff divisions.

One Snoop Dogg son “in”, one Snoop Dogg son in limbo at Diamond Bar

Cordell Broadus, the freshman wide receiver son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has been given a valid residential change by the CIF-Southern Section and is cleared to play at Diamond Bar High School after transferring earlier this month from Long Beach Poly.

But no paperwork has been submitted to CIF for Corde Broadus, Cordell’s older brother, who was on the varsity roster at Long Beach Poly this season and played special teams for the Jackrabbits.

Diamond Bar would not elaborate on why no paperwork has been submitted to get Corde eligible with CIF. Meanwhile, Cordell has been practicing with the varsity team and may end up being on the roster when the Brahmas’ season resumes this week against Walnut.

Cordell would not need CIF clearance to play if he were to be on Diamond Bar’s freshman team.
