  • Surprise!

I have shocking news for you: the economy is really, really bad, and it so happens that it costs a WHOLE LOT LESS to attend Charter Oak than is does to attend Amat or St. Paul.

The really wealthy people will still be able to spring for Servite and Mater Dei, but these lesser private schools like Amat and St. Paul are going to see smaller and smaller enrollments as our national decline proceeds.

Here’s the funny thing ,and it happens all the freakin time on this blog. I come on here and make a point and get knee jerk reactions and you’re so stupid comments and then real coaches come on, or people who actually know football, and it’s right in line with what I said.

Rio Ruiz is not a HOF player based on actual performances in football, like I said. He’s a great athlete, however he’s an instinctive player. He doesn’t do well with progressions and needs to fly by the seat of his pants. Rix makes the same points.

I said Hagerty might not have used him as he should have been used, fast and loose..Rix agreed. He should have used those talented DBs and Sanchez in space, like I said to maximize his talents. Rio odes well when he throws a lot, and forces teams to respect the run but more importantly respect Moore in space. Glad you believed Rix so easily.

Here’s my opinion about Amat from way back in teh Verti days…and I’ll catch hell for it…but here goes…they never play the best players both ways. Simple as that. Too often the best players are on the sidelines going one way. Sheldon Price was a great example.

As far as the Guru’s comment about Rio setting up players with defensive calls, wrong! If you don’t have the progression “tools” on offense you don’t have those on defense either, sorry…doesn’t work that way. Guru you should know that! Football IQ is what Vick lacks and makes up with with pure instincts…Rogers,Brady and Montana have Football IQ to spare.

When I said the question should be asked if Hagerty used Rio’s talents well..every one had a cow while apparently Rix, and others, had similar doubts and concerns over in “Amat Nation”.

Aram & Fred …tell me the truth…isn’t Gano a perfect fit at Damien? If Chino Hills doesn’t beat us with a Hail Mary pass, one ironically they got beat with last week at RC….Damien get and beats RC and is still in the playoffs at 9-2 along with CO representing the SGV.

One thing Aram, Fred, Miguel, Steve and Guru forgot to mention…Damien, a private school with great academics always had the biggest linemen in the Valley during Morrison’s years and Glendora had big boys as well…tehbetter question is who’s running camps for linemen? NO BODY !!!

  • What’s the Bad News?

Nothing to dig for. Nothing Sinister. Probably nothing more than economics my friend. In the case of the sophomore QB, if this move is indeed atheletically motivated, he may have assessed his situation in real time and realized that it probably wasn’t going to happen for him at Amat. Probably a wise decision on his part. KH is going to be a solid returner and even he will be challenged by the freshman kid. Any DB, TE or football player from this years football team that leaves because of this past season is a fool. This was a very good football team this year and they were in every game they played. For any other reason, there is academic help available for student athletes that are struggling and there are financial scholarships available for those who qualify and are in need. There may be other reasons for a family to decide to leave AMAT, among them, economics, grades, discipline or they just don’t feel it’s for them. But this past football season is definately not a good excuse to leave the school. Whatever the reason or issue that may see these student-athletes turn in their Lances, I wish you “Good luck” in your future endevours. Bishop Amat is not for everyone, either you get it or you don’t. BUT if you do, you get it for life.

  • Coach

San Marino Tribune this morning had a article with headline stating “Former Head Coach Mike Mooney to Plead guilty to Grand Theft”….. Will you guys write a article about it or do you still think Mike is your GOLDEN BOY?

  • Gordon Gekko

    Amen to SURPRISE!’s words

The economy is going to get worst people! WARNING, WARNING

St. Paul and Amat are going to hurt financially. One will probably close. Both schools do not have enough large donors. Public schools will be the alternative for the next 5+ years for many. US is dying economically which is something this so-called McLaughlin Grp knows nothing about.

The non recognized Depression will get so bad that you guys better look out for your own jobs because a ton of former players are jumping into the sports entertainment industry. Look out and big wave is coming. Compete.

I have given support to long-time league rival Amat this past season. I have to say Amat may have entered into a serious decline and it will not recover any time soon. Lancers are no longer the #1 destination in ESGV. Looks like the rumors are true. Amat administration needs to get into the mix. Damien on the rise.

Rix com’on Santiago. duuude really? Yes Amat needs to look at its personnel better and change scheme. Assistants have great resumes but not all that great at evaluating talent. Hagerty will be the fall guy. As for Charter Oak the tradition continues. Recruit, do whatever it takes. Wow, you’re a genius with the X’s and O’s. Jesus saves. Why did Rix leave Amat?

    Please trolls offer Santiago.

FRED ROBELDO two words, “Sam Gilbert, Uncle Sam.” Remember BALCO, fucla john smith. Check it out. Trolls know about cheating. “Oh, we are about academics.” Sure, Randall Carroll, former troll morrell presley, shall i continue?

“I am hot, hot, hot.” Aram chill. Cursing on the show??? Bad course of action. TC weak. Nough said.

Go Stangs! You have a successful alumni both on and off the field. These guys blow. Don’t listen to them. Ask them where they went to high school and played ball or in the band. It wasn’t a prep school. You can make it out of Muir.

  • Bonita fan

Glad that the CO vs Upland game will be televised this week. Will allow me to go to the San Dimas game and support them tomorrow. Go Saint! Bonita supports our school district’s other team still in the playoffs.

  • Bad News

Rose tint my world baby!!! Amat will always be fine. Just like those around us will be fine taking our cast off’s (whoever they are?). Chris Rix???Who’s that? Oh that’s the wanna be Clarkson guy right? Aram? Yeah, his assessment and love affair has been proven (by Upland) to be exactly what it was…a fantasy! Gee, with all those proven pundits you quoted I guess AMAT will be lucky to field a team next year, huh? OK, I will still take my chances with The Lancers!
