M-Town’s Mason Bryant has a stellar junior season highlight reel … minus the soundtrack …

Aram’s take: If Mason Bryant isn’t the best all-purpose player in the Valley, then somebody better start talking. Just another major reason why M-Town has got the juice right now. About the soundtrack, The Fat Man is still waiting for the day when one of these football players puts his reel to “Think About It” by Special Ed.

  • Game Change

    Looks like The Kid is doing great things all over the field. The epitome of a playmaker in a word impressive, I saw the guy against Covina last year in the semi-finals at CDF and that one play at the start of the 3rd quarter on the fake put changed the momentum in that game and killed the Covina spirit. Looks like Mason Bryant has been living in the shadows of Nick Bueno and Ellis McCarthy over the past 2 season, maybe this will be his break season. I had heard he was an outstanding kicker but had no idea he could make plays like that. What scares me is what else does M-town have in its tool shed.
    The Kid does is all Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Well doesnt every good player deserve a nickname?

    Let’s see here, so many subjects, there is Special Teams, defense, offense,…. The list goes on and on………

    Mason you are the epitome of “MonroVia football” the way you approach each play is a pleasure to witness every week during the season. If you were to look up the phrase Clutch player, your picture would be right next to the definition. I mean fake punts, “cat like” reflexes when jumping in the air to snatch the ball for the interception, blocking on offense, down field so that your teammate can gain that extra yardage, recovering a botched punt and turning it into six during the TC game so many examples. And not to mention you are the kicker who makes about 70-80% of your p.a.t. attempts. Keep it up young man, the entire MonroVia community is rooting for you and the rest of the squad every step of the way. Congratulations on all your success so far and I will enjoy watching you next season and every Saturday fir the next four years after.

    Aram hit the nail on the head. This kid is an impact player and drives the school bus.

    Bryant clearly plays with a lot of drive. How many kicks did he block? The fake punt against Covina was huge. His breakout game against Paramount was a turning point in Monrovia’s season. His catch and run against Arcadia showed that he was physical enough to grab it and fast enough to pull away for the long touch down. I also like the way he cuts back into the field for more yards, rather than run out of bounds most of the time. This is the type of receiver and old offensive lineman can appreciate.

    I’m a bit biased, but I hope he goes to the “ancient eight”, Ivy League. We appreciate Renaissance men like Mason Bryant. Does he speak Latin too?

    Mase is one of the Most important players on the wild cat team. I am sure he will have at least 4 D1 offers, and at least 4 Ivy league schools interested. With a player with his skill set, you can do a lot of things.

    On a side note, Bishop Amat!!! Don’t make me laugh. Monrovia does not send their players there . I am sure they would love to have Bryant, Craft, Frazier, Ainsworth and Walsh, Our D1 “Skillz” prospects for 2013.
