Your late-in-the-game recruiting update …

Arroyo’s Steven Rivera is deciding between Whittier College and Cal-Lutheran.

West Covina’s Justen Meaders has an offer from D-2 Western New Mexico, some interest from APU and Menlo.

West Covina’s Jimmy Frazier and Dorrin Turner appear to be going the JC route.

That’s all I gots for now …

Dillon Corona to Citrus. . .

Good choice and CITRUS should have another good season. They have a lot of returning players and should have another shot at the conference championship. Good luck to him and train hard.

  • QB?

Where do you get your material from.

Rivera going to Cal-Lutheran, thats old news.

We all know he wants to play QB.

Cal-Lutheran by far the better program.

My question to you, with Rivera going to Cal-Lutheran what does that say about the other local QB that decided on Cal-Lutheran. Think about it, Rivera decided on Cal-Lutheran after Livingston had decided on Cal-Lutheran.

The last news on Rivera was that he was thinking of Cal Lutheran or Whittier with Whittier seeming to have the nod. Did he decide he wants to go to Calu? If so, he can compete with Livingston for the starting position along with the two seniors that were QBs last season.

A talent like Rivera having to settle between these two makes me sad.

At least he’ll get a good education.

Jefe – thats probably the right level for him. He’s a SCIAC player and Whittier or Cal Lu probably fit best academically. Both have rolling admissioins so kids can get in lale without meeting those early application deadlines the better academic schools in the SCIAC have. Remember, Felipe Aguilar went to Pomona Pitzer after being the SGV player of the year.

Rivera will never play QB at Cal Lu. That’s a top notch program that attracts D1 transfers to play that position. In fact, I heard that there might already be one from Ohio State coming.

They carry six QBs and suit up three. Right now there are exactly two. Deposits have to be made by May 1.

  • JMO

Felipe couldn’t even hang at Pitzer which is the worst program for years in the SCIAC. Only one QB in the valley had a great career in the SCIAC and led the University of Redlands to two playoffs, any guesses on his name and your eeeerrrrrrr high school he attended? There might be another but none better in the past 25 years.
