IT’S OFFICIAL: Kurt Scoby now enrolled at St. Paul …

Kurt Scoby, who transferred from Charter Oak to Duarte last month, has left Duarte and is enrolled at St. Paul, according to new Swordsmen football coach Elijah Asante.

“After careful consideration of the needs of Kurt Scoby, his guardian has decided to enroll him in a faith-based institution that is St. Paul High School,” Asante said in an official statement.

“Scoby needed a family environment with a spiritual emphasis.”

Scoby, a junior-to-be, rushed for 1,572 yards and 21 touchdowns last season at Charter Oak. Rumors of his departure from Charter Oak started before the 2011 season and picked up again following it.

Scoby eventually ended up at Duarte briefly, but things never went smoothly for him at his new school and he eventually sought another transfer.

“I wish the kid nothing but the best and our team chemistry is so strong that this won’t affect us,” Duarte coach Jason Martin said. “We’re looking forward to a very successful year and competing for a league championship.”

Asante is in his first season at St. Paul after a successful run at Carson. Asante replaced legendary Swordsmen coach Marijon Ancich, who retired last season. The Swordsmen have reportedly already gotten an infusion of talent and Scoby only adds to it.

“Our objective is to develop scholar athletes and win every time we take the field,” Asante said. “We are happy to get the kid (Scoby) in here. The first thing we need to focus on here is academics and make sure he does well in the classroom.

“I’m definitely pleased and look forward to working with him and developing his talent both in the classroom and on the football field.”

Aram’s take: So there you have it. Score one for the Swordsmen, who have been doing a lot of scoring this offseason since Asante arrived. I’ve been reading some literature via emails from St. Paul people about the program and what Asante is doing and it’s pretty awesome stuff. As for Scoby, the Duarte thing just never worked out. There was talk he was heading to Monrovia, before and after he arrived at Duarte, and that he even met with coaches there, but that didn’t pan out either. In the end, I truly believe that a parochial is the best place for Scoby. Some kids get into that kind of environment and they thrive. Hopefully, Scoby does that and continues to shine on the football field. It’s a good thing he’s looking so yolked, because he’s gonna need all that strength against St. Paul’s epic schedule.

  • Here ya go

I know I know you going to think this is hating but it NOT. Scoby was over hyped and his stats where a result of the system he was in. Things weren’t going good at Duarte and wont go good at St. Paul because he is not the players advertised. Of course he has some skill and body of a greek god but he just doesn’t have the elite tools set.
Scooby’s yardage came from draws against teams looking to stop Santiago first. In addtion much of his yardage came late in games when teams were all ready beat into submission.
Anyone who has followed HS football knows how this story ends and that with UNDER PERFORMANCE.
CO wont miss him and St. Paul is going regreat having him because when the going gets though he shuts down. A good example is why would you leave a solid program like CO who took very good care of him? He leaving because he knows it would be a lot though this year.

  • What?

This kid is all over the place! Of course everyone will say poor Scoby leave him alone he was not treated well at CO, we was not treated well at Duarte. Did anyone stop to think the problem is not CO, Duarte, Amat, or Monrovia. He might be the problem! If it walks like a duck. The new St Paul coach seems like he will not be taking any bull from anyone. Maybe he transfers to another school where they will treat him well?

  • STOP

    Aram,

How about just leaving the kid alone. The kid has some real personal issues that he needs to work through. The last thing he needs is all the hype.
Aram, there is about 100 another H.S. Football stories in the valley you can write about! Stories about great kids, coaches and programs that people would like to know. How about some real reporting, of FACTS not speculation? Steve Hunt Help! you were a great Prep Reporter please insist that Aram is as well.

  • St Paul Dad

I have to make this comment because I pay tuition at St Paul to have my two sons go to school there. I always press education first, and I feel that my boys are getting a very good Catholic education, and getting prepared for college. St Paul runs a good solid academic program. I know football is a big deal nowadays, and my younger boy plays on the JV team. I am very concerned that this new coach is making a mess of what St Paul is all about. Are we really going to allow a kid that was flunking out of CO to just waltz into our school and get a pass on his grades because he can play football. This is a shame on the administration, and this is a sad chapter for St Paul.

  • duarte fan

Kurt is staying at Duarte seen him yesterday on the football feild working out with coaches and other running backs. Spoke a lil with him and says he’s ready for the season and will sit out the 30 day sitout but come ready for league?

  • Nate

What a joke this has become!

  • JMO

    Aram,

I wish you would do a little more digging before your next article on this young man. There is no chance in hell that he will be eligible next season, he missed more than six weeks of class at CO after the season before his transfer. Grades? I commend the new Duarte head coach for holding him accountable when it came to his studies, does anyone else see a trend starting her?

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvfootball Aram

Scoby’s eligibility no matter where he is in the fall is a bridge we’ll cross when we get to it.

  • Scoop Jackson

Is this another scoop? By fluid situation do you mean gossip and rumor? Does “not messing around” mean recuiting and influencing a young vunerable kid? Just leave this alone, its a non-story and putting it out there only harms the kid.

Scooby Is a good player despite all this. No matter where he goes, he will make a positive contribution on the field. This is why it’s best to start out at your local schools from the beginning. You don’t have to run across town with dreams of becoming a better player. If you are in a community that has nurtured you and treated you well, Stay. If you go some where and they don’t have a life long love for you, things may turn out different then what they told you to get you there. When you leave your local community, it is very hard to come back, especially if they have players and are good. Monrovia would have been the best place for Scooby to go, However Ainsworth is there now, and made the decision to come back early instead of a week before spring ball. We wish Scooby the best. Let this be a lesson, if you are in a successful feeder program, it’s best for the players to stay together in high school. That chemistry and talent will go a long way. Private school is not for everyone. Asante, May be digging his own grave by recruited the wrong kids that don’t fit the private school mold.

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvfootball Aram

I view private schools as a BUSINESS. They aren’t GUARANTEED any students. The flip side is that they can get what they get from anywhere. There’s no geographic limitations.

Anyway, it’s no secret that business is dwindling at a lot of private schools In my opinion, a GREAT way to increase business is via a successful and thriving football program.

I truly believe that’s a major reason why St. Paul got Asante and why Damien got Gano.

I pretty much guarantee that BUSINESS would be better with a CHAMPIONSHIP football program.

Guys like Asante and Gano are under big pressure to get things done. So I’m not about to trip out on Asante for trying to hit the ground running. I just hope he stays within the rules and there’s no concrete reason to say that he’s not.

  • Accountable

I have no problem with the reporting of this. What it does it make schools accountable for their actions. Places like Duarte and St. Paul know if they’re going to be sneaky and lure kids to their schools, they will be accountable by having it out there for all to read, including CIF. You can’t let stuff like this go unreported. What’s been reported in regards to Scoby has been accurate so far. He left Charter Oak (check). He enrolled at Duarte (check). Now he’s allegedly leaving for St. Paul and based on previous reports, this is probably spot on too. Why should Aram care about reporting what’s in the best interest of Scoby? He’s not Scoby’s P.R. service. Let him continue to report on a high school stud on the move and the schools that may or may not be taking advantage of his situation.. It’s a compelling read.

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvfootball Aram

    Accountable,

Scoop Jackson, aka Coach Slayer, aka Art Bell, is either one of two things — MS/Pomona or a Mid-Valley Snooze goof. Eh, actually, outside chance he’s FC/Damien Dad.

Anyway, take what he says with a grain of salt. He’s just an Aram hater and looks for any opportunity to cry his boring eyes out.

There’s not a chance in hell that I won’t report it when there’s a change in this VERY FLUID STORY.

We are talking about the best RB in the Valley. If the kid is being hurt, it’s not because of me, it’s because of him. I’m not making ANY of this up. It’s actually happening. I’m just reporting it. If Scoop Goofnuts has a problem with it or anybody else then PLEASE KICK ROCKS. GO TO THE MID-VALLEY SNOOZE OR WHEREVER ELSE YOU WANT. FALL ASLEEP OVER THERE. I APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS, BUT I SURE DON’T NEED IT. GOT IT? GOOD!

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

    @St. Paul Dad,

You are right about St. Paul being a fine academic institution. However, I completely disagree with you coach Asante is making a mess of the school and the football program. Since coming in to replace Coach Ancich, who was a lengendary coach at St. Paul and in California high school football, here are some of the changes that has brought St. Paul football into the 21st century:

    1) Making sure all players use sixth period as a study hall instead of weight lifting.
    2) Implementing a 6am speed and strength program complemented by a nutritional breakfast to allow our players to get bigger, faster, and stronger and more time for academics.
    3) Marketing our players to college recruiters.
    4) Constantly staying in touch with high school media outlets to keep them inform of St. Paul football.
    5) Organizing linemen academies.
    6) Organizing quarterback academies.
    7) Going out to visit many of the youth football event and high school football event to market St. Paul High School.
    8) Installing a 21st century spread offense.
    9) A first rate schedule: La Mirada, Mater Dei, La Habra, Bishop Amat, Servite, Harvard Westlake, Chaminade, Cathedral, St. Francis, and Serra.
10)UCLA was at St. Paul recruiting just yesterday.

The truth is, I don’t know a single school that would not want Kurt Scoby if he is interested in their school.

The bottom line with coach Asante’s objective:

DEVELOP SCHOLAR ATHLETES AND WIN EVERYTIME WE TAKE THE FIELD.

  • http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvfootball Aram

    LOVE No. 4!

  • The shadow

Item #7 sounds very suspect. Attending high school football events to “market” St Paul? Does that mean he is walking onto other high school campuses to recruit kids? And it’s a CIF recruiting violation to go to youth football events and “market” your football program. The St Pual administration can “market” the school and the academics but the coach can not “market” the football program or anything else at a youth football event. It’s called recruiting violations.

  • Lancer

It doesn’t state “market SP Football” it says SP High School. I for one am glad that St. Paul is resurrecting it will be a better game. I do hope Amat wins… Amat will shine!!

  • The shadow

It doesn’t matter if he is marketing the football program or the high school. The football coach can’t approach or speak to the parents or the kids directly. The coach must tell parents or players that they need to go through the administration to get information about the school. That language is clearly printed in the Blue Book.

  • funny stuff

The Bottom line is everyone wants to know what’s going on who’s moving around. This is the 24th century. The internet, Facebook, twitter, have made it impossible for secrets to say stay secrets. Check this, if players, parents, and coaches moved in silence, no one would know. Obviously, people are talking, then complaining when the world finds out. Pick you school, keep it a secret, and check in once. Once multiple schools are involved, it’s going to become a gossip fest, and their is no one to blame but the parties involved. Coaches don’t care about what is said, or who is ruined after you decide not to transfer to their program. You can not expect them to be loyal, or keep your best interest in mind. The snow ball effect is in play here. Too much talking, too much movement. The reporters job is to find every greasy(fluid) story. That’s what they are hired for…if you are the preps football editor, you write about transfers, coaching changes, beat stories etc…duh

… it just shows EVERYONE what an ass you are. LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ANOTHER SCOOP. Especially now that the “rumor and gossip” turned out to be FACT. So tell me, Scorekeeper, what’s count now? 1,390-0? Geez. That’s too bad. I guess you and your boys have no idea how news stories matriculate. But I get that, because just the other night I heard you goofs mockingly say “Hey, didn’t we say Kurt Scoby is at Duarte?” And look how right they proved to be. Geniuses.

Listen, you, Pomona, FC, and the Mid-Valley Snooze need to quite simply know when to sit back and let the grown ups talk.

  • D-Mo

    The entire Mid-Valley just exhaled.

  • New York

Too much depth at Monrovia. St. Paul is easier to break into the line up…

  • SMH Stay one place, please???

SMH, This is ridiculous now. Just like Michael Graham moved all over and never materialized.

Kurt I wish you the best but please stop all the moving from school to school

  • Jefe

St. Paul’s a fine academic institution??

    When did this happen?

  • FBFan

    SP Dad,

Let’s not act as if St. Paul never did stuff like this during the Ancich era. Remember German Arias and all the guys that came with him from El Rancho which ended in a CIF hearing? Remember D’Andre Scott, a player who transfered from Alemany a week after losing to St. Paul and was miraculously eligible for St. Paul? Remember just a couple of years ago when Aubrey from Diamond Ranch transferred over to St. Paul for his senior season. I don’t condone what coach Asante is doing, but don’t act like Ancich and company did not do the same exact thing.

  • Scoops Jackson

Funny that “your boy” Steve Rameriz on his blog has decided not even to comment on this poor kids drama even though the main football school of his paper the Whittier Daily News is St Paul . He’s reporting on local sports not drama. Could it be he has a sense of class??

  • PAC-5

I don’t know who this kid is but how do you transfer (academics wise) so late in the school year? Asante is bringing in thugs from all over So. Ca. I heard his nephew tranferred last week and he’s on probation. SP is sellin their soul.

  • Let’s see how things pan out.

CO-will get over the sting, but don’t you act like #16 was not important to the team. Your # 2 guy is not Kurt Scooby.

BA-Smart for skipping on this one, bc they have enough drama as it is. Too Much Transfer talk over there.

Monrovia- is in a groove, really don’t need used goods. Check in and out of too many schools already.

Duarte- needed him badly. However, They need to develop what’s already there 1 guy won’t change much. Probably should have kept tip sanders as HC.

St Paul-Just might work if… they get him tutors(he is not a dumb kid, just needs help). Works on his attitude, and get’s him a fullback in front to lead the way. Scooby be aware that something could go wrong with credits and/or grades. CO won’t make it easy, and we know they are greasing for them down at CIF headquarters. Also College coaches want loyalty..if you transfer too much it’s a red flag. They want you for 4 years, and don’t like habitual transfer athletes.

As Far as steriods accusations go, high school does not test, so who knows how many kids are juicing. Can’t accuse anyone until they test positive…If he is fortunate enough to get a full ride, you will get the answers there, if he sucks in and/or test positive for Performance enhancing drugs.

Best of Luck and keep it together.

  • name calling

Pac 5 get your South Orange County @$$ out of here with the profiling comments.

Be careful throwing out the thug term. Rich kids at Mater dei have been in trouble too. Kids get in trouble sometimes, that does not mean they are thugs or if they are they can’t change…I think there was a little racial sentiment in your statement PAC-5. Maybe a private school structure is best for trouble kids. Kids go to a new atmosphere with new stimuli and end up being the best kids in the classroom and on the field. I don’t think Asante will last long there because he has no strong feeder base, but not because he recruiting thugs…he is looking for players….geesh.

  • Sgv baller

Hope everything works out for him.he is only a junior and if it doesn’t work out he can go back to duarte for his senior year.aram don’t be to quick on naming him the best back in the valley. He hadn’t did enough to be considered yet. It is easy to run win your offense has a guy like Travis spreading the ball all over the place. Let’s see how he does this year.

  • Amen

Scoby needed a family environment with a spiritual emphasis. Indeed he will receive this at St. Paul. Amen!

  • Amat Dad

I really don’t care if this kid is at ST Paul or Charter Oak, or Chino Hills, or where ever. We face all three schools this coming season and I really don’t think this kid is any better than the running backs we saw in Loyola, Notre Dame, Santa Margarita. On the contrary, I think Scoby lacks the overall polish we have faced in some of our opponents at these other schools. And as for coming to Amat, I much rather have Blue carrying the Rock. Blue knows the system, and has really developed these last three years into a very good football player. Just wait and see. Finally, I welcome all the tough teams we can play, as that just prepares us for a brutal league which we face each year. This new St Paul coach is O.K. in my eyes and he is gonna need as much talent to get through the schedule he has put in front of his team. I think St Paul will go 1-4 for the non league games, but I think they will be well prepared for their league games, and actualy make a run in the mission league and their division. Bring it on Baby, Amat is not afraid of any team.

  • The dominos will fall….

Now where will the St. Paul running backs who were supposed to start going to transfer? Or will they stay and wait to get stabbed in the back October 1.

And what will the rest of the St,Paul players do knowing that their head coach will recruit mercenaries to take their spots.

Now that Charter Oak is getting a transfer QB, where will their starter transfer to?

  • Pathetic

    This guy Aram is pathetic.

This blog is the electronic versus of the National Enquirer. I can only conclude that the Tribune believes this is best for their bottom line.

This is not what I expected from our local newspaper. Im amazed that the Tribune management allows Aram to continue with these personal attacks on the local kids and parents. Its all fun right now but what happens when he goes too far, and someone reacts? Cant wait to see the day when that happens and how quick the Tribune will be to show Aram the door.

  • Joe Kapp Fan

    Pathetic

Maybe it’s why Aram loves to out people or pick parent feuds, it get’s every one involved.

Like everything else about you know who nothing is original.

    Here’s a list of Aram’s original ideas.

Ambush, and that ended as fast as it started when Aram realized it was too much work to walk across a parking lot and carry a camera. Or maybe it was the sound of his heavy breathing after walking less than 100 yards.

Aram is taking a page out of Jim Rome’s playbook and waiting, no PRAYING, a parent b8tchslaps him and it’s national news. BTW how’d that work out for Jim Everett?

Exactly, one appearance on the Tonight Show and then oblivion. How’d it work out for Jim and his Clones? GLOSSARY !!!!

That’s what makes Aram so comical. He tries to get in my head but I’m from not from the FishBowl. If I see him, and I’m so inspired, I’ll do what comes naturally.

Just think what Joe Kapp did to that former football player who tried to hit him with a cane…BANG !!! Right cross KO !!! How long did Joe hold that grudge?

Aram’s day will come but it won’t be from me. I don’t hit girls.

Monrovian, calm down Captain Defender, I’m sure Aram can stand up for himself. I don’t have a horse in this race, but you gotta admit, Aram(and his buddy Fred), most often than not, comes across as very arrogant, borderline douche baggish. And the way he attacks the Mid Valley Sports, it’s somewhat unprofessional and kinda getting old. And did he really say he doesn’t need his readers’ business? Think about that for a second. A writer not needing his readers’ business. Does that make sense to anyone.

Now am I going to stop coming here cause Aram sometimes teeters on my last nerve? No… Cause I know what I’m getting when I come here or at the Mid Valley Sports for that. Lots of hearsay, rumors and biased opinions, with some actual facts sprinkled here and there. I don’t come here for the betterment of my life. I don’t “hang on every word”. This is like the TMZ of high school sports. Gossip and poor grammar included. It’s cheap entertainment. I take it for what exactly it is, a gossip blog.

  • Dan

    To here ya go,
Watch the video that Monrovian put up on Scoby, I can’t comment on his attitude or how he is as a team player, but as I have said before on Scoby, if he isn’t an “elite” back he is at least “elite” among current SGV runningbacks. Any school in the SGV or Whittier area including St. Paul or Amat or La Habra would benifit from him as a runningback. I am talking about running back skills only, as I don’t know what his attitude is like. This going by what I saw from the Glendora game and the TV game vs Upland, but the highlight video link that Monrovian put up in this thread just confirms what I’m saying, if not the best he is at least top 2 or 3 in the SGV/Whittier area.
By the way most of those big runs in the highlights weren’t from draw plays, but there were lots of zone blocking plays. I just looked up his running stats on Max preps, 188 carries, for 1572 yard, with an 8.36 yards per carry average and 21 TD’s, not bad for a sophomore in a tough division, can you imagine what he could do as a senior? I hope St. Paul can help this kid on his spiritual/scholistic path like the coach is claiming, cause for the kids sake it would be ashame to see him lose his eligibility.

  • Fan Of Football

To St. Paul Dad this has been going on at St. Paul for year’s. Remember the words rent a Player. Scoby’s grades are horrible how is he going to be eligible at st. paul. I wonder How?

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

PAC 12 schools have St. Paul in their sights. In addition to UCLA visiting this week, Arizona and Oregon State stopped by yesterday and is impressed by what they saw. Coach Asante’s objective: DEVELOP SCHOLAR ATHLETES AND WIN EVERY TIME WE TAKE THE FIELD!

  • Ignorant

    We are St.Paul

I heard that the sp players aren’t getting along w/ the new transfer, that theirs been 6 or 7 fights already.

  • Enough Already

Edgar Allen Poe once said, “Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.”
Now, if you’re asking for support to what you’ve “heard”, then you are bigger than most. However, if you’re putting the question out there just to stir the pot, you’re no better than the rest of the shitpot stirrers. So, to help answer your question, there has not been any fights between any of the new 6 (or 7) transfers that have gone in. Did everyone see that number? It’s not 16 or 17. I know; neither one of those statements is what all the haters want to hear. They want to hear fights are breaking out every day and the transfer rate is dramatically high, but that’s nowhere near the TRUTH.
They’re all kids; let them be kids.

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

    @Ignorant,

As Enough Already suggested, who ever is making up those rumors are just haters and is no where close to being inside the St. Paul program. The truth is these new kids are not only good football players but they’ve good families who should be applauded for the way they have raised these boys. They are humble and grateful for the opportunity to get a Catholic education and thankful for the chance to become a well rounded person. Our core players returning from last year’s 7-3 team are getting along great with their new teammates.

BTW, Oregon State offered Kurt Scoby this week. Coach Asante will host a coaches social on May 17 @ St. Paul High School where up to 80 college coaches will have an opportunity to make a good impression on our players. Now, this is a coach who understands the total concept of coaching in the year 2012.

DEVELOP SCHOLAR ATHLETES AND WIN EVERY TIME WE TAKE THE FIELD!

  • concussion-symptoms

    @ WE ARE ST. PAUL

    You might want to add:

    11) Had the old uniforms “stolen” after he was told that he could not buy new ones.

“@ WE ARE ST. PAUL! said:

    @St. Paul Dad,

DEVELOP SCHOLAR ATHLETES AND WIN EVERYTIME WE TAKE THE FIELD.”

  • Losers

The only person that could have stolen the Jersey’s are the ones who had access to the equipment room. That would be the principal, athletic director or equipment manager. It certainly wasnt Asante he was only here three days and he didnt have any keys. Its strange how the jerseys that were stolen mysteriously ended up in the former players possession. It seem as though some disgruntled coaches were sending a message to the administration.

  • concussion-symptoms-avina

concussion-symptoms/avina, get over it man! your act is tired.

  • concussion-symptoms/avina

concussion-symptoms/avina, get over it man! your act is tired.

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

    @concussion-symptoms,

If you really believe coach Asante stole the old uniforms after being on the job for only three days than the effects of your concussions over the years is getting worse not better. I recommend seeing a neurologist asap. As LOSERS stated, those uniforms ended up in the hands of some of the players. How do you suppose that happened? If you think coach Asante has anything to do with it, than call me because I happen to have the Golden Gate Bridge for sell. CHEAP!

  • Scholarship

I heard Asante called his friend who is the RB Coach for Oregon State, and just like that, Scoby got an offer. This coach knows how to use his contacts.

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

    @Scholarship

Yes sir, getting all of our boys into a college program is the main goal of coach Asante, I hope all our players and their parents know how lucky we’re to have him. I was talking to a BA dad over the weekend at a camp, his son is graduating this year and I was telling him some of the things coach Asante is doing at St. Paul. He couldn’t believe all the positives that are being done in such a short period and told me he wish they have someone like that at BA.

DEVELOP SCHOLAR ATHLETES AND WIN EVERY TIME WE TAKE THE FIELD!

  • concussion-symptoms

Dont be so sensitive… The dude can Coach and that is all you should be worried about. St. Paul should have a good season. I just hope the Scoby drama doesnt get in the way!

  • Hope the best for all,

Remember, these boys have to academically qualify to get in to the Colleges so you can have offers all day long, however if you do not have the grades nor the SAT or ACT scores, it is all in vain. Is the Coach gonna have to continue to make calls for Scoby to get offers or is he good enough to attract the coaches. I am anxious to see who offers him without the coaches help.

  • WE ARE ST. PAUL!

    @concussion-symptoms,

Don’t be so sensitive? You accused a man of being a thief without proof and you think that is okay? You committed malicious character assassination through defamation and that is a crime. If you didn’t know that before you know it now.

    @Hope the best for all,

The main reason why Scoby came to us at St. Paul, an opportunity to get a Catholic education and become a well rounded person.

  • offers

90% of the players need a coach or parent or camp admin to call. It’s called networking. Very few recruits have people drooling all over them…especially at the RB position. RB’s come a dime a dozen. Normally a 6’4 300 lbs kid who runs a 4.9 like McCarthy don’t need help. Some people are clueless.

  • concussion-symptoms

I am interested in purchasing a new bridge, but only if you throw in a few old St. Paul jerseys.

Calm down guy, it is HS sports blog, not the Supreme Court. I am sure that he has been cleared of all involvement in the “great st. paul jersey heist”. any way you cut it, they have new uni’s dont they?!?!

  • WHY OR WHO IN THE ??????

Why or who in the hell would want a st paul jersey ?????

  • WHY OR WHO IN THE ??????

Why or who in the hell would want a st paul jersey ?????

  • old trick

This kind of stuff has been going on forever. Nothing matches the old Bassett guys “accidentally” leaving on a water fountain in the gym to flood the place and get a new floor!

  • catholic education ???

OMG you are kidding me, Scoby is interested in a Catholic Education and becoming a well rounded citizen ? That is the biggest joke I have seen on this blog in years. Do you know the kid? funny crap that was.

  • concussion-symptoms

    Its called “SARCASM” …

  • Hope the best for all

    @offers-
I am not clueless. Sometimes you may need help a little especially if your name is not out there enough, but if you are an elite or exceptional athelete coaches will come. You don’t have to be ginormous like Ellis MCcarthy who got tossed around like a rag doll by a guy 1/2 his size at the Army Bowl.

    @WE ARE ST. PAUL!-
I am not knocking the whole”Catholic education and becoming a well rounded person” thing, you are paying $$ of course it is gonna be different. You don’t really know the background of Scoby or his Guarduian. I have known them for 10+ years and I hope what you are saying is true. Hope it works out.

  • Hypocrite

Hey Rich Avina aka concussion-symptoms, how is it that you teach at St. Paul, Coach at an opponent school La Mirada, accuse the SP Head Coach of stealing and constantly feed negativity to our boys about our program but want to continue to be on the St. Paul campus? Do the honorable thing and just leave.

  • Fire him now

The SP administration doesn’t have the ovaries to fire him…

  • I did it my way

    Fire him know said:
The administration dont have the overies to fire him……True statement ,the truth is Avina is a great person ,the facts are that like Rich they were taught under one system (coach A )and the facts are that St Paul would of put a team out on the field to compete. The problem is the racial question comes in to effect …..he and the rest of the old guard couldnt and will not satisfy the truth……and that is the diversity of St Paul to compete at the level that is needed …..BOttom Line!!!!!!!!

  • Bunch of little bi**h’s

This is all a bunch of BULLS**T, you guys want to come in here and start pointing fingers and name dropping, I call that a stright out BIT*H!!!!!! If you have a problem with Asante or Avina then have the balls to talk to them with your BS opinion period!!!!! And to say this idiot under “concussion-symptoms” is Avina is flat out BS!!!!! This is a transition that everybody needs to accept regardless if you are your son has a issue….. It’s time to STEP UP or STEP A SIDE!!!!!

  • CHANGE

Time brings about a change…as much as some people really loved the tradition of the old leather helments a time came when that tradition was no longer relevant to the new paradigm so the NFL broke that tradition and ushured in a new era of plastic helmets with face guards.

It seems as though many want to hang on to the past rather than embace an exciting new future. In nature those who do not adjust to environmental change become extinct.

St. Paul has chosen to adjust to the environmental
change and will thus survive and thrive rather than mildew, rot and die.

I am a part of the old guard but I too see a need for this change. My challenge to all my fellow Swordsmen is to drop our petty differences and jump on the bandwagon to support this Coach in his support of our great St. Paul Football Team.

The job this coach is doing to secure College Scholarships for all of our boys is phenominal. Anyone who doesnt see that is either ignorant, blind or worse yet just plain prejudice.

  • concussion-symptoms

Sorry to disappoint all you conspiracy theorists but I am NOT this Avina person you seem to think I am. Try again please.

Any word on my bridge or my jerseys?

  • Liar

concussion-symptoms/avina,I am NOT this Avina person you seem to think I am. Avina you have been exposed! I don’t want to have to get personal Rich but don’t push me. You know who I am and you know I will go there…so stop!

  • concussion-symptoms

Please, remove the foil hat and open the blinds on your windows. YOU ARE WRONG! But keep drinking your Avante cool-aid!

  • concussion-symptoms

    @ Bunch of little bi**h’s,

So you post about coming on here and “name calling” yet you call me an “idiot”. You must be a St. Paul fan! Can I get my bridge and jersey from you?

Please be careful how high you lift your new Messiah…

  • Avina

Concussion-Symptoms Avina, you have shown a teenage like immaturity in this process of change. You should be very thankful to the school administration for giving you a chance to get some interviewing experience.

The administration has a fiduciary duty to do whats in the best interest of St. Paul. The top three most quailfied candidates all had several years of head coaching experience and you had none. Your resume is very non impressive but over time it can get better if you continue to improve as a coach.

Throwing a rock and hiding your hand does not take away from the fact that it is you who keep throwing rocks. You have really gone out of your way to drive a wedge between our boys and the new staff. Who knows how long Asante will be here? Maybe you could have been the heir to the position. However, you have shown yourself to be mean spirited and childish. I suggest that you do some soul searching, prayer and growing. It’s not too late.

  • concussion-symptoms

Changing your name and repeating the same thing over and over will not make it true. I am not sure why you think I am this Avina person or what you have against him, but I can assure you, that I am not him. Trying to use this blog as a basis to get him fired because you “think” that I am him is just silly, funny yes, but silly.

    Back away from the Kool-Aid!

  • Doesn’t add up

    @ Liar
If this Avina guy is a teacher at St Paul, how would he be posting on this blog at the times that Concussion is posting? Wouldn’t he be in class teaching the kids at these specific times? He has posted today at 9:57 am, 10:40 am, 10:49 am and 1:27 am. I think you might have the wrong guy.

  • concussion-symptoms

I suppose I could post between classes or while the students were studying or taking exams or praying or whatever it is that high school kids do.

Oh wait………………….. I am not a teacher at St. Paulies. But I am still looking for my bridge and jerseys!

  • Astin Kutcher

The Trib boys must be laughing their asses off reading the St. Paul bloggers as they try to pull each others hair out, a real cat fight. This dirt is better than Jersey Shore. Name names. Who cares if its the truth or not. Whose next??

  • concussion-symtoms

    WHERE ARE MY JERSEYS?

  • concussion-symptoms

So ANOTHER transfer today for St. Paul!!! What is going to be the ratio of STARTERS to ACTUAL TUITION PAYING ATHLETES? And how many of these “transfers” are going to be ACADEMICALLY eligible? What a joke!!! But hey, they will have new uni’s!

Question: Why are the St. Paul faithful okay with what Asante is turning their program into? Thought they had a bit more pride than that, guess not…
