Sure is quiet in Glendora …

Incredible, the things you think of while in Glendora.

During a stop at The Donut Man in Glendora on Friday, I got to thinking it sure has been quiet at Glendora this summer.

I haven’t heard one take from ANYONE on a Tartans passing game. I saw the two players they sent to Tribune media day and they were VERY, VERY big. But I’m wondering about the skill guys.

I hate to say this, but it just feels like Glendora is stuck in the mud until the powers that be wise up and move them back into a proper league … and maybe even division.

If anybody out there in Glendora, Mike the Clone, Plaid Lad, ANYBODY want to give us an update, we’re all ears.

    As for the Tartans, it HAS been quiet. I am hoping they can turn it around (except when they play CO) this season. Lots of players showing up from what I hear. No doubt we’ll see some information being posted here soon.

    They are not the only team not posting anymore. The reason is bloggers and coaches are wising up. As soon as you offer an opinion you get shouted down by serial posters and even the trib will shoot you down. Who needs to be insulted by dodos no less. I say smart move Tartans. Let Amat, Monrovia etc. keep posting, they deserve each other.

    Well we are quite because there really is nothing to say.

    Our receivers are young and our QB situation is just not good at this point.

    That makes us a running team. BUT we have no RB. There is no one on our roster that is close to Victoria and Holmes and they were barely good enough to keep this team a float.

    Soooooo that’s really all that needs to be said at this point.

    Jefe — I totally agree. Made a conscious decision to drop 15 pounds before the season starts… after week 2 — feeling great. Trying to keep the calorie count under 2000.

    If I can do it Aram, so can you!!!

    With that said

    I am hearing many things about G-High and most arent too good. Im hearing the kids are dishearten because of the league they are in. The parents of the kids that I know that are there are really ticked at CIF. I know some of you guys are going to say So frecking what. Well so frecking what, when kids bail on the program you have problems. The baseline league is a like a juicer, the pulp always ends up on the bottom. Just relating to you what Im hearing.

    The kids have been receptive to the new staff and the kids are familiar with who they are. They are for sure going to be a run team because the QB situation is in flux. The senior is good enough to get by and the junior kid has the tools but just isnt into it.

    Thats all Im hearing from the parents Im involved in. So take it for what its worth and to a few of you I know that isnt much. Sorry Chriss!!!!

    P.S. Stick with the donut big boythe juicing crap just doesnt cut it when your craving that huge Donut Man Maple Bar. Screw that juicing crap.

    New coaching staff is a HUGE improvement. Still a lot of athletes here that are finally getting coached up. We will see.

    We should have gone after Bill Zernickow. He is the only proven coach than can possibly win here. Every year he has no players at SD and they end up winning. I went back and checked. They have like 50 wins in the last five years. We should get our school board to create a football only position and keep the union out of it. Come on if you think about it Jerry is a good guy but he really is an assistant coach not a head coach.

    Just an opinion, but I think they are grooming Jacob Crook to eventually be the head coach at GHS.He’s on staff right now, He is teaching in the district,he had a good run at GHS as a quarterback and was recruited out of there and went to UNLV but left there and I hear he was the scout team quaterback at UCLA under Dorrel for two years. So he has some big time Pac 10 collegiate D1 experience at UCLA maybe not playing time but how a big program works I.e Practices,training, weight room, game day preparation and film work. He was down at La Puente with Rohrer as the QB and offensive coordinator. So he is getting the hands on experience as it stands now. He’s another two years away from doing that I say.
    Now the only way that doesn’t happen in the next few years is that Roher gets Glendora teaching job and leaves La Puente to come north. But why would Rohrer do that and lose his tenure down there.

    Rohrer could easily leave LP if a teaching job became available at GHS, it helps if Stepdad is the principal.

    I personally think the junior quarterback has a better arm and is more athletic than the senior. I believe the junior is the cousin of the offensive coordinator Jacob Crook. The recievers are making it tough for both quarterbacks. Should be interesting to see who gets the starting job. Go Tartans!
