Green ! Green! Green! Kelly Green that is….

There is a very good mix of schools here…

Charter Oak- Is always strong, but lost a lot of skill guys and speed. With Brown at QB returning that is always a great start for any offense. This is the year to show if they truly belong in the inland. The average years are where you judge where a program belongs. CO has been loaded the past few seasons….

South Hills- they are always a mystery, however they play hard and are still a extremely challenging team for lower level schools. However their line is their best asset, big and strong…Passing league does not show their true teams ability

Muir- Will always be fast and athletic, however they lost a great QB last year…How will they get those horses the ball? We will get our first glimpse right here.

Glendora- They really need to find a stud QB. The last time they were good, they had one. They run well, but they need a more balanced offense in the Oh so tough Baseline. Now is the time to find your guy…and he better be good.

Upland- I am sure everyone thinks Upland is the favorites. Here, but I am not so sure…they will have top tier athletes, but they will be breaking in a brand new QB. That levels the playing field. They might find themselves getting up set…unless there Defense shuts everything down.

La Serna-Frankie Baby!!! Expect them to do well at this tourney. They have the best and most proven QB in this tourney. His WR will have to make plays, but the ball will be on target.

Dranch- Will have to work hard this summer. With Dbar loading up and West Co and Bonita still strong, they could be looking at the last playoff spot in the Hacienda….Get to work Panthers.

Rosemead- try to come away with some positives…this is going to be day of learning.

El Rancho-is a running team…all they should be looking for here is the will to compete. This is not their type of thing.

Arroyo-No Rivera on this squad….this too will be a great day to get experience and a great team building day.

La Habra- they are a great school and program. I expect them to be in the mix Here…Can they win this event…it really depends on what La Habra shows up…the program from2-3 years ago or Last years La Habra. I am sure they want to get back to their winning ways.

Monrovia-This a great chance for the wildcats to continue the quest to get out of the midvalley. Monrovia will be breaking in a new QB, but I expect them to be in the mix, and should make the Semis at least. It’s time to win events like this and win the all of the upper division games on the schedule 14-0 and State title at the D3 level should finish things up at the level we are on. Anything less than that is well a disappointment in my book.

That’s my preview of this tourney…

Hey that was pretty good! I saw Uplands QB a few weeks ago at the IMG tournament. He’s got a good arm, good accuracy, footwork and overall balance. I don’t know about having a big arm, but from what I’ve seen, it’s good enough.

  • Not So Fast My Friend

What’s interesting is who isn’t at the tournament.

    • GP AKA Green Machine

are you talking about Bishop Amat or Diamond Bar? Westco would have been if Noodles didn’t bounce…

      • Not So Fast My Friend

I would have liked to see BA there, as well as Chino Hills and even Damien.

        • GP AKA Green Machine

CH is breaking in new Qb and lost great WR. BA’s skill players graduated. I am not sure if they wanted to enter this tourney.

          • Not So Fast My Friend

See I would think that’s a great place to get a look at my QBs and see who performs. For what I know, CH lost one really good WR. But they have another one that I hear has been tearing up the 7 on 7 circuit. But then again, you may be right and the new staff has their sights set elsewhere.

I just think this is a good opportunity to see some of the best talent in the area. Upland has a very good DB that’s getting highly recruited. Then there is the talent at Charter Oak and Monrovia as well.

          • GP AKA Green Machine

Yeah, I am not sure why they did not enter. CH has talent. BA is going to be really young this year…I don’t see them making the playoffs as of now. BA always coaches up their players so come league they could be ready. Right now, It’s just passing league. However, morale is important. If they are not ready, there is no need to go out and have a bad showing. BA just lost a great DB coach too. You don’t want to head into a passing league tourney without your staff intact. There is no embarrassment in that. Get ready, prepare and go out and have competitive showing. I look for both of these schools to come out in the summer and compete.

          • Not So Fast My Friend

Yup. I’ve already calendared CH vs BA this season. But I totally agree. It’s passing league. lol

          • http://twitter.com/aramtolegian Aram Tolegian

Actually, Chino Hills WAS in but Bechtel said he wasn’t aware of it and made other plans. Total communications screw up … and Bishop Amat said it WANTS IN but there’s no opening.

          • Not So Fast My Friend

Thanks for clearing that up! Again, that’s too bad. I would have loved to see both schools out there competing.

          • GP AKA Green Machine

thanks…I was wondering…CHills and BA would have been much better instead of Rosemead and El Rancho.

          • AMAT 73

            GP,
Wasn’t your new found friend yapping something about Monrovia vs Rosemead a while back ???

          • GP AKA Green Machine

I don’t know…Rosemead is not on my radar. Rosemead or Bishop Amat? I rather see Amat out there…or DBar and La Mirada which would be anyone’s favorites with their wr core..

          • Not So Fast My Friend

GP I agree. I’m not familiar with Rosemead or El Rancho, but I’ve never heard anyone on here talking about them, so that probably indicates why I haven’t.

I wonder if Aram & Co are going to post other upcoming passing tournaments or a local passing tournament schedule?
