What does everyone think of AJ Gass taking over at Servite?

AJ Gass, who was already dean of students, was named varsity football head coach on Thursday. He replaces Troy Thomas, who left Servite to become head coach at Crespi (again).

Aram’s take: Pretty great video. We should start doing that over at the good ole SGVN. Just have a coach flow. As for the hire, I have no clue what to make of it. SO if you’ve got a take, feel free to fire away.

  • This is an outstanding choice. He comes very highly recommended from Coach Thomas and he is a Servite guy. He went there, played there and coached there under coach Thomas. Can’t think of a better person to lead Servite into the future in the Pac-5….

  • Not So Fast My Friend

Surprised by the hire (my source was leaning toward someone else) but it’s definitely a good one! Gass has an edge to him that’ll keep the Friars aggressive, well coached and giving MD fits.
