Bishop Amat had a strong opening day at the Bonita Air Assault, going 5-0. Other good showings came from Charter Oak (4-1), South Hills (4-1) and Chino Hills (4-1).

Arroyo went 3-2 and posted wins over Monrovia, Ayala and Kaiser before suffering close losses to Bonita (2-3) and Glendora. The Knights took second in their pool.

Damien struggled badly, going 0-5 in pool play.

Saturday will be the knockout phase and every team is still alive for the championship … but teams with bad records will have low seeds. Should be interesting …
