  • Dustin ohara

I wish grown would play st Francis

    • observantcat

Trust me, that would be Gtown’s worst nightmare. Let them play RC first and see what their outcome is and them talk about St. Francis.

      • Dustin ohara

That’s why they play the game so yes Friday we will see and I think rancho is better than st Francis

  • GP AKA Green Machine

    It looks great except for….Haha

    6. La Serna- Proven with win over westlake-

    7. Monrovia Only lost to your #1

    8. Dranch- Hasn’t beat any team about South East level…except Chino..But hey I won’t throw the baby out with the bath water…. Dranch looks great…

    • Lock-N-Load

LA Serna-What he forgot to mention is they took an azz kicken from Norco .

  • Titan Football Fan

San Marino defense will be the key going forward. Most of the sites focus on points scored when giving any credit to SMHS. Points allowed average is 17. Without Crescenta Valley game, points allowed average is 9, with some of those allowed in garbage time.

    • FootballGuy

Other than CV, San Marino has played a real weak schedule. South Pasadena is not real strong and gave them a game. Granted they will beat La Canada and come in second in the RHL. Might win first round and then go home.

      • Titan Football Fan

“Weak league”, “Weak Division”, Weak Schedule”. As Eminem put it: “Blah be do blah blah do be blu blah.I aint hear a word you say Hibbidy who blah”. Same weak argument, week in and week out. Last year’s team lost by a combined 8 points to Monrovia (regular season) and San Dimas (playoffs) — both games in their houses. Oh right, I know, “weak schedule”, “weak league”, “weak division”. We’ll just have to prove it against Monrovia and in the playoffs. If we don’t…”weak schedule”, “weak league”, “weak division”. If we are fotrurtnate enough to win…you guessed it…”weak schedule”, “weak league”, “weak division”. Whatever, bro. I’m just trying to say that the team is prepared to play. Coach Hobbie is outstanding. The players work hard. The fans cheer. It’s classic high school football. It’s awesome. When the ball’s snapped, nobody’s asking what the CalPreps rating is for the lineman that’s he has to block. Nobody on the field cares where Aram or Fred (who insulted the entire divsion today in his post) has ranked the team. Play Ball!

        • Not So Fast My Friend

I don’t know what I’m impressed with more, you breaking down the “weak” schedule, league, etc. or running thru an Emenim verse capturing all the “blah, Hibbidy do!” lmao

          • Titan Football Fan

We’re well-rounded in San Marino. We can talk run and gun, rap and the Renaissance. Got fired up by Fred’s post on Mid-Valley. Nobody’s ever going to mistake San Marino High School’s football team for Long Beach Poly’s. But the coaches, players and parents are having a blast. The players are learning lessons and making memories they’ll remember forever. The parents are cheering for thier sons and for their friend’s sons. The coaches are “kicking *** and taking names. It’s football. It’s fun. Can we play twice a week?

  • AramT

We’re getting to a point in the season where justifiable cases can be made for several teams for No. 1 … if you wanted to make Amat, Glendora, Chino Hills or St. Francis No. 1, I would certainly see your point. And on down to 14ish, 15ish, there’s cases that the teams could flip.

  • 12th man

I’m glad you didn’t get caught up in the Glendora hype..they’re doing something special this season but by all means not the #1 billing like Fred has..Mr.Robledo jumped the gun he should have waited until after they played RC..1-3 sounds about right in any order..

    • AramT

I’ve actually seen all the teams in the top four play in person. Glendora is a very good and if they beat Rancho they’re the unquestioned No. 1. The Upland was great for the program, but Upland looked to be down quite a bit from the past two years.

      • Not So Fast My Friend

Athlete for athlete, I don’t know if Glendora has the horses in comparison to Rancho. I think the Glendora love train ends at Rancho.

    • Not So Fast My Friend

Totally agree! Fred is on the Ojay’s Love Train with Glendora. I can see St Francis a little bit. But I would’ve waited for their game against Rancho first.

  • Not Since 1995

Bishop NoMAS is the worst 4 – 2 team in the Pac 5 and in the SGV.

    C’mon Aram…Step up your game…! You’re much better than that…!

You and I know these guys should be 3 – 3 right now. Except for the fact that my Huskies choked and gagged on a huge wad of Lanceritos, Do you actually think that these La Puente chumps are going to win against the mighty Warriors of Alemany High School…! Even Mrs. DoubtFire 73, JoeAmNOT, and Lancerito ComeLately know that this is going to get ugly very early and very often. I predict a 42 – 13…HUMILIATION on the Lanceritos! By this time next week, the hapless lanceritos will be 4 – 3 and on their way to another A$$ Handing over to the mighty Celts of Crespi.

This FAR FAR Superior team is done in 2013…! Best start preparing the THANKSGIVING meal! Its another Black Friday for the Parochial of South La Puente…!

    Not In 2013 Either…

    • AMAT 73

      Quasimodo,
If you’re going to knock us get it right . We are 5-2 stupid and by this time next week we will still be 5-2 as we have a bye this week . You truely deserve your title of The Village Idiot . Or is that wad you choked on after the LANCERS beat your puppies still stuck in your throat , tapado . Well maybe the wad CO puts down your throat this Friday will clear it out for you .
      Not 2012 or 2013 either !!!
      hahahahahahaha .

      • patriot_dmo@yahoo.com

        Hilarious

  • Rene77

I respect this top 25. It will take a lot of work for the lancers to over come the warriors. This bye week should get the lancers healthy and ready for a war next Friday at home. As always lancers will earn their spot back at number 1. One question aram is st Francis #1 cuz you think the level of play is the same as bishop??

    • observantcat

Rene77, not taking away anything from the Lancers but if they were to play St. Francis right now they would get dominated at every position, Line play is big in parochial schools and ST. Francis is the epitome of Big line play, They have the most balanced offense that I have seen in some time and their defense is very stable, that’s a recipe for plenty of upsets. So if I may tune in I would say that they would have beaten SM by at least 21-28 pts.. if that gives you a gage on how good this team really is. After they play Chaminade and Serra I’m sure you will get the gist of what I’m saying.

      • AMAT 73

        Ocat,
We would still beat them , without a doubt . Just because they dominated your team at every position doesn’t mean it would happen against us . Maybe they just showed just how weak MTown is when they play a legit team . SH and Ayala are far from being legit D-2 teams and you don’t beat them with any consistancey , try playing CO who you guys continually bag on or CH and let’s see if it doesn’t wind up like the SF game . Just another one of weak azz jabs you come after AMAT with . SM would beat them also no doubt . But take solice in fantasy Cal Prep projection league , you know the one that has you beating Crespi .

        • observantcat

Thats the same Cal Preps that had you guys losing to Rancho as well as Losing to SM, but things do happen in a season and the cream always rises to the top at the end. And since your so sure that you guys would beat them, how do you feel your chances are with the team right around the corner from them? Yes, Alemany, they will be coming to play you guys with the same zest that St. Francis would come with. By the way since you seem to know so much about your teams strengths over St. Francis, tell me where you think you have an edge?.. is it just because you have a Logo from the PAC5 next to your name or is it just the arrogance of thinking you usually have when it comes to BA?… dial me back and let me know.

          • AramT

I think I’m one of the rare ones in this Valley who have actually seen Amat, St. Francis, Chino Hills and Glendora play. I would favor Amat (still) over all of them. It’s just hard to keep a team up there in the rankings when they lose and the rest are winning. Amat would be a little too fast for St. Francis.

          • observantcat

I will agree with all the others except for St. Francis, sometimes speed doesn’t always work in your favor. I think Amat would have definite match up problems.

          • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

you can’t have it both ways…”Amat would be a little too fast for St. Francis” just say you haven’t got the stones to put the team you think is best at #1 ..because they lost to a school out of your coverage area…or is this more of the any given day,in their own fishbowl nonsense…what’s next Rio Hondo Prep atop the fantasy list ?

      • SGV_FOOTBALL

WOW! That is a bold statement, your putting all your marbles in with this SF team. Lets hope your right because you just said that BA would get dominated at every position on the field. I’m sure the AMAT faithful will chime in on this one.

I personally don’t think St. Francis can hang with Serra or Chaminade but before we get there they better blow out Cathedral and Harvard Westlake. Also who has St. Francis beat that would be considered a notable win?

I see they have only played monrovia with 32.5 rating. while Serra and Chaminade are around 72 & 62 respectively. Do you think their schedule will do them justice in league?

        • observantcat

I understand your though process when it comes to my statements about how good this team might be, but I seriously believe that they have been WAY underrated from the beginning in terms of their team effort and the unlisted talent on that team. Yes they beat my team but I feel after seeing how they won that game that I can comment on how underrated they have been throughout this season. I just don’t see teams like Amat coming up with answers to stop their passing machine and I think that it will give other teams in their league fits as well. Sure there will be several BA and East Valley Fans Including the head writer and Editor “The Great Fred (BA) Robledo” who has a blue and gold soul that would tend to disagree with some of the statements that I have made, but come season’s end I believe my points will be well taken.

      • Not So Fast My Friend

Bigger than St. John Bosco? Those kids are massive.

        • observantcat

That would be a great line matchup no doubt. Those kid calves look like Pine tree stumps.

          • Not So Fast My Friend

            LMAO!

      • Gorilla_Wench

        Ocrap,

Dude. Stop already! If you try to pump up SF because they beat your weak azz greenies, no one is going to buy your bullshiat. SF is a good team but they are not Pac5 caliber. They are not going to come close to Serra or Chaminade. Your team got their azzez handed to them. End of story. They are no where in the conversation anymore. Go beat up the worst division in CIF and pound your chest. Like NonSense 1985 says, you’re just one step above flag football! LMFAO.

        • observantcat

Ok, Gorilla Dung, I hear you, but wait until the end of the season to talk your crap and then you might enjoy the dung that goes along with it right after thanksgiving. Sorry your feelings are hurt over a taste of reality but all I can say is wait and see.

          • Gorilla_Wench

If you want to talk about reality, how about SF 48- Paper Tigers 14. That’s reality and the one who can’t handle it is you. Trying to pump up other teams who wooped your azzz is not reality. It’s more a reflection of your program and its short comings. Look in the mirror and fix some things and stop trying to make excuses why you lost. Lookout MidVally, the best paper tiger team in the world is coming your way! LMFAO

Chino Hills lost a squeaker to BA and has a great resume. BA lost to RC and ND. As Michael Jordan would say, “Two beats One”. CH gets the nod in my book for taking care of business better.

    • Not So Fast My Friend

That’s the best rationale I’ve read.

    • Inland_FB_Fan

I agree. Chino Hills has also beat 5-1 Tesoro (ranked #44 in CA) and Great Oak (The Inland Divisions #7 Team ranked #60 in CA). How Fred has Glendora ranked #1 is beyond me. They have only played 1 team with a winning record and 1 ranked team (D.7 Bonita) Plus they eeeeked out wins against South Hills and Ayala. Is that what #1 teams do???
I personally don’t know much about St. Francis so I have no comment on them being ranked #1

      • OuttaYourMindTrib

Saw film of the Glendora/Ayala game, that was not an “eeeeeeeeeek” they had help from the officials.

        • Inland_FB_Fan

ok, even if they beat them by 10….still not impressive enough to be #1

          • OuttaYourMindTrib

I would not rank them #1 if they were the only undefeated team in SoCal. I have no trouble putting them in the Top 10. Just not the top spot. Amat, and CH for starters would drive them like a rental car.

          • Not So Fast My Friend

            Like a cheap rental car!

      • Not So Fast My Friend

I looked at St. Francis’ schedule this morning and looking at their competition I don’t see it. Even saying that, squeeeeezing by in your wins doesn’t elevate you to the number one spot, it causes people to think twice about if you’re that good. With squeakers it’s a thin line between winning and losing.

      • patriot_dmo@yahoo.com

It’s going to really get weird when CO humbles CH, and Glendora loses by 21. Then what?

        • Not So Fast My Friend

Bishop Amat (if they win) goes back to No 1, CO, with four losses, jumps to No 2, and Glendora falls to 3rd. CH probably falls to 4th or 5th. Of course I’m just guessing here, but considering how crazy this ranking stuff has been, it can’t get much crazier.

          • AMAT 73

            NSFMF,
We have a bye this week . Don’t know if you get points for being idle but you never know .

          • Not So Fast My Friend

  • SEMflockofEAGLES

Mission Valley League looks to be headed for a showdown between Arroyo and Rosemead to decide the crown… Nothing new about that. Lions are young and rebuilding Mt view looks a lot better. SEM looks like they’ve quit! We’re a proud group albeit small but very proud… Sad to see what I’m seeing every Friday night. Alumni getting very disgruntled, but no time to turn you’re back on the program.
