Talk your smack or cry me a river: Muir, D-Ranch, Azusa, Charter Oak are league champs! Amat in a world of hurt and most importantly LA MIRADA COVERS THE SPREAD VS. NORWALK!!!!

Congrats go out to Charter Oak, Diamond Ranch, Muir and Azusa for locking up league titles on Friday.

Congrats also go out to La Mirada for not losing by 30 to Norwalk. If the Mats can play the No. 1 seed to within seven points, does that make them dangerous in the playoffs (if they make the playoffs)?

And finally, Amat continued its swoon. The Lancers aren’t gonna be dancing this postseason. I don’t get it. Not one bit. Thought this team would improve as the season wore on … instead all we have is September memories. No bueno.

  • Boycott lacerito

It was a pathetic game… It’s time!!! Out with the old and in with the new. The upperclassmen had there shot. Now what do u have to lose??? Put in them super sophs against Loyola I bet they will do better than them seniors

  • The truth and nothing but…

Norwalk was on their way to cover the spread, it was 28-7 at the half. What happened?

  • Not Since 1995

You East Diamond Bar fans need to worry less about what Amat does or doesn’t do and more about playing some some D when you see C O next week.

47 points to Claremont? That’s their biggest production all year.

  • Not Since 1995

Congratulations to the Charter Oak HS Chargers on a well deserved League Championship…!

Hard for me to say it but you earned it again…!

If I were an outstanding Junior All-American

C-No… They suck!!!!! They are 1 and done in playoffs. They only managed 14 against Ayala??? Oh! Excuse me, Louise had them score a classless and unnecessary TD with 1:30 to go when they could have just taken a knee and been done with it. Ok Louise, you need the syle points because your playoff draw is going to suck.

I smelled upset this week so I caught a cab to the game. It was almost worth it. Man, Ayala’s O just stalled out. Atrocious play calling. WTF Ayala Offense Coaching staff? It’s pretty easy, if it’s working KEEP DOING UNTIL THEY STOP IT!!!! Seems like half the crowd was saying it. That litte thing up the middle you do… Here’s a tip coach; get a spreadsheet out, list all your plays, create a column for each game and look for what nets you the most yards. Coaching 101! I’m out!

It’s time for house cleaning at Amat. We all know that Haggerty is tight with administration and he’s an alum but it’s the same story every year. Team regresses as the season progresses. He should be relieved of duties, but if he can’t be fired then he needs to cut ties with Verti.
Amat used to be known for hard nosed physical football. Both of these guys want finesse football, especially Verti. He calls too many passes, especially at the wrong times all year. He favors “playmakers” instead of guys who play football. Yesterday is perfect example, he plays 19 and 37 at running back all game. Third and short situations call for tough players, guys willing to hit someone and gain tough yardage, not guys who want to dance and make people miss. When he is forced to play Camargo because of an injury to 19,he of course breaks tackles on the way to a tying TD. One has to scratch their head and wonder why. These coaches are too smart for their good and hurt the team with their attempts to prove their intellect.
I feel bad for the players. there are many great and hard working kids who have been let down by the coaches. Coaches who play lip service to values they talk about, values like hard work, loyalty, toughness and selfless team work.

    • Valley Athletics

camargo has been used many times before in short 3rd downs and also got stopped .

    • Here’s JOHNNY, or Little Johnn

It comes down to the will to win. Many of these upper class men only worried about how pretty they looked in the uniform. This is a big problem. A bunch of individuals instead of a team. If you saw Crespi you would have seen a team, not individuals because coach Thomas does not allow it. I am also sure they don’t host girly sock day practices as well.

  • understand

Amat people blasting Amat people….Let the finger-pointing begin. A house divided cannot….Nobody cares if a team consist of sophomores or seniors. Remember Tesoro a few years back when their Supersophs beat someone in the playoffs. What ever happened to them? The fact is you are going to need the class above you and below you.The coaches are going to say they just didn’t have the athletes but nothing about clock management and play calling. I have heard all this time and time again. All of you need to go back to the drawing board and figure it out. The ‘We are Pac-5 D-1 eye test method hasn’t panned out for you. Every team that beat you was smaller except Crespi’s line. The supersophs should talk less and drink the rest of their kool aid. Just like Jonestown, everyone ended in the same place.

    • AZTEC PRIDE

Understand? REALLY… How does what happened in Jones town, have to do anything with Football? I’m sorry but that’s out there and you couldn’t come up with a better analogy! Yes, we all know about the Kool aid in Jones town.

      • understand

I apologize for the bad analogy. i forget to be politically correct sometimes. How about we substitute horchata for kool aid and jonestown with LaPuente! Is everybody O.K.?

        • AZTEC PRIDE

If this was a tweet on twitter, I would favorite it!LOL…Apology accepted! I was pulling for AMAT, it’s to bad they loss, but that’s football! Have a great weekend!

          • understand

I think there are some fundamental flaws in the Amat approach to football. Being the only big dog in the neighborhood everyone wants to see them succeed but they come across so arrogant. The biggest mistake is they take the simple game of football and apply a collegent/nfl approach and out think themselves. That is an example of people that have been doing the same job for a long time entertaining themselves and trying to keep themselves challenged at the expense of a program. It is good if not necessary to be viewed by outward appearance as a college type program so you can match up with the academic approach and attract the type of parent looking for that experience. On the football field it is really simple….Crespi ran the ball down your throat. These are high school kids that will be in college soon enough. They are not paid/scholarship athletes so you can’t use the same approach. If you approach them right they will jump off the end of the earth for you. Kids are pretty good at figuring out where they stand with coaches and that is reflected in their play. Just from seeing the last few classes of seniors and their regression in development i would say there is a problem with the staffs approach …not the kids. The sophomores are a very talented and driven group but they haven’t been coached by the varsity staff yet. The Juniors are going to make or break the sophomores because if they are jaded and predisposed coming into next season the whole enchilada falls apart. How many times can you give Camargo, one of the best athletes in the valley, a vote of no confidence before you break his spirit. That kid just wants the ball but you say he is no QB. Ok but you can”t say he is not a runner. The play calling tells us you have no confidence in your running backs. The arrogant coaches spend all their time telling kids what they cannot do (by their actions) as opposed to a public school where you play with what you got! Then as a group the coaches all walk around like penguins believing “We CANNOT RUN THE BALL. WE CANNOT RUN THE BALL. A self fulfilling prophecy perpetuated by the coaches themselves! The coaching staff has to change their approach if the sophomores are going to be successful.

          • AZTEC PRIDE

Man i’m sure glad you got that off your chest! LOL…Nice analogy! I mean post! Your 100% right and the team must have a run game and teams can’t all be like Oregon! Aaah the game of Football, if we could always have the PERFECT STORM, Oh I meant GAME!

  • Valley Athletics

Tough loss for Amat . Everyone on here who don’t know anything about football are going to have so much to say . But the fact is no one knows anything . The loss of 8 players to next level and replacing them with inexperience showed .the combination of penalties , mistakes on coverage , missed field goals , missed Pats , bad interceptions and time management all led to the losses . It is a team effort from coaches to players so there can’t be fingerpointing on who’s fault it was . On a good note every game was a battle and the players never gave up . The future looks bright with the talent level in the last 3 classes . With hard offseason work I see many kids with D1 potential that Amat hasn’t had in a while . Parents need to shut up about who should be playing and let there kids be developed properly . If they are working hard and not just going through the motions good things will happen .

    • Here’s JOHNNY, or Little Johnn

Very true. The players that want to win and have the heart to win will put in the work this off season.

  • Valley Athletics

The hacienda is going to come down to coin flips . Diamond bars forfeit can cost them a playoff birth . Bonita and west co are back in race .

    • TruTH

With Bonita’s win over Los Altos last night it shakes the Hacienda considerably. Los Altos vs West Covina is basically for 2nd place in the Hacienda. Bonita vs Diamond Ranch is also important because if Los Altos ends up losing to WC and Bonita beats DR then they get the final spot in the playoffs. But if LA loses and Bonita loses as well then Bonita, DB, and LA go into a coin flip for the final playoff spot. If LA beats WC and Bonita loses then Los Altos comes in second and DB gets the third spot. There are many scenarios left but each game will be a tough battle.

      • Not accurate

        @ Valley Athletics and Truth
The Hacienda uses Head to Head to break ties, if that doesn’t break the tie (i.e. Three way tie with each team having beaten the other) then a point system is used to break the tie. Coins are only flipped if the point system is unable to break the tie. The point system works by awarding more points for victories vs. higher finishing teams.

        • Valley Athletics

          Great explanation of process .

          • Aaron

I remember a head to head win against DR in 2006 brought a coin flip where we stayed home, so that’s bullcrap up there.

          • Not accurate

The Hacienda didn’t exist in 2006. Last year the 4 way 1st place tie was broken with a well documented and reported upon “point system” if memory servers me right, WC was the Hacienda #1 due to points, then BoHi was #2 due to points then Rowland #3 due to Head to Head over DR who was then the #4 and got into the playoffs in the Wildcard spot.

    • PatrickHT

Not true..DB would still have tie break over WC and BO

  • Not So Fast My Friend

The irony of some Amat people never ceases to amaze me. With the exception of the more rational of the lot (Amat 73, Joe Amat, etc) several others come on the blog chest thumping with their rose colored glasses on, overlooking fault lines and cracks in the shield. Then, after a loss, the same group is pounding their keyboards over firing the coach, pointing fingers, etc. Please stop. The same way you’re over the top in the wins, you need to practice humility when you lose. Are there improvements needed? Yes, most definitely, but this “fire the coach” dogma each time you lose is overkill.

  • AZTEC PRIDE

Good to see AZUSA make the headlines on ARAM’S HUTTLE front page and has to be the first time this season! Good job AZUSA! Way to go Coach Scherf and to the AZTECS!

  • Waldo Truth

Hey but La Mirada has great videos and they can dance. Actual football playing, not so much!

  • Not accurate

    Hacienda Playoff Picture –
    1. BoHi beats DR and LA beats WC = #1 DR, #2 BoHi, #3 LA with DB as possible wildcard
    2. DR beats BoHi and LA beats WC = #1 DR, #2 LA, #3 DB with WC as possible wildcard
    3. BoHi beats DR and WC beats LA = #1 DR, #2 WC, #3 BoHi with LA as possible wildcard
    4. DR beats Bohi and WC beats LA = #1 DR, #2 WC, #3 LA with DB as possible wildcard

All scenarios assume that DB beats Walnut. I don’t see any scenario where the point system or coin flip would be needed to break a tie.

    • Chew on this

The good news is that the “At large” birth will probably come out of the Hacienda. The bad news is that team will most likely get stuck with Norwalk in the 1st round. Another thing to keep in mind would be for Diamond Ranch, should they lose to Bonita they could possibly be matched up against a 3rd place and very dangerous La Mirada team in the 1st round as opposed to a cupcake 3rd place team from the Del Rio or Pacific leagues. Winning your final game of the regular season has a big bearing on where you are seeded in the playoffs and for Diamond Ranch could mean the difference between a 1st round exit or a Simi Final or possible Championship appearance.

    • TruTH

The 4th scenario would require it. LA would be 3-3, Bonita 3-3. and DB 3-3. LA lost to Bonita but beat DB. Bonita lost to DB but beat LA. DB lost to LA but beat Bonita

      • Not accurate

Your correct, scenario #4 would require the points system. DB would beat out both BoHi and LA under the point system with BoHi then getting the nod over LA in Head to Head for the inside track to the wildcard.

  • RealTalk

Anyone consider Walnut beating DBar??? They have been off the field for what 2 weeks? Rested or Rusty???

    • Valley Athletics

3 weeks to prepare for a weak Walnut . I saw walnut against bonita and for the first half they where more physical than bonita and stopped jake Payton . Jake Payton took a hit in the third and never returned . Second half was a different story . Walnut has a weak Qb that would probably not start on most Jv teams . Walnut linebackers are good and a couple on the D line . Walnut will manage to score maybe 2 tds at most while DB puts up about 35 points . Coverage on kick returns was bad against bonita and from what I hear it’s been a problem for Walnut all year . DB has some great kick returners .

      • RealTalk

I thought if you’re suspended you could not practice til after the suspened game?

        Correct me if I’m wrong.

        • Not accurate

CIF suspensions dont preclude you from practicing.
School suspensions on the other hand will preclude you from participating in practice or being on campus. (at least for all school districts that I’m familiar with)

    • PatrickHT

As hungry as DB will be!! Trust me , they are not looking past Walnut…My prediction..Peterson and Broadus will be ON next friday!

      • Valley Athletics

Is broadus playing ? Rumor is that the team suspended him for this game also .

      • SGV 4 30 Years

Fridays DBar/Walnut game should be very interesting. Talk about contrast in every way. Skill guys I have to give the nod to DB. Brown has been the key to DB last to victories over Walnut. Coaching, the nod has to go to Walnut. They have always come up with something creative. Walnut can’t afford to give up the big plays to stay in the game. DB can’t allow their lack of discipline to cost them when the game is on the line.
I don’t think that Broadus is playing. I hear he will be out for at least 3 games, and it could carry over to next season. I’m sure there will be more to come from that situation once the season is over. I can’t imagine there will be any incidents in this game with all the district bigwigs stand on the sidelines. It will be a great atmosphere, the stands will be packed. This game will make the winners season.

Oh it’s coming… Get on that train AMAT joe,AMAT73. Next years team is going to be bad A$$… The more polished players had there chance… So when the super sophs don’t disappoint next year I don’t want you guys to be on their jock. Aram, they where super sophs this year what will u call them next year as juniors.. Oh one last thing this Thursday at AMAT the super sophs will be 20-0… Class of 2016 on the move.

    • AZTEC PRIDE

Boycott lancerito, JOE AMAT and AMAT 73 have been the conductors of the AMAT TRAIN, for years supporting AMAT in a positive way! Never hear them talk about a secret weapon called the SUPER SOPHS? LOL… Things change up at the VARSITY LEVEL and it all comes together as a TEAM!

      • Boycott lacerito

Just like Aram said.. Cry me a river

      • Here’s JOHNNY, or Little Johnn

We keep hearing this… And that is true. Things do change at the varsity level. Kids get bigger and stronger and so will this already big JV team. Amat will have a good problem next few years. Trying to find spots for all the talent. I am also sure that this JV team would beat many varsity teams out there.

    • Who is this guy?

Even the Amat faithful must find you annoying.

    • AramT

OK, let me say this. I called them Super Sophs and the two who actually got a chance to show what they can do — Tre and Tyler — lived up to the billing. Maybe the rest just weren’t ready or had older guys ahead of them. Fact is, they’re an extremely talented class and nobody is gonna be stopping Tre and Tyler when they fully mature into upperclassmen. I think the thing that Hagerty and his staff HAVE TO DO NOW is make sure the class stays in tact after this disappointing close to the season. If they can do that, Amat will be just fine.

      • Boycott lacerito

Agree with you 100% in due time we will see what they are about. My take on you calling them super sophs is cuz there talent across the board as a class. Defiantly those 2 are on another level.

      • Valley Athletics

This years freshman class was great also. Only lost to Alemany . Of course some will transfer out . But the better ones will stay . Go to the touchdown club website and you can see pictures of all games and teams . Some big kids on both freshman and jV teams . Future looks good .

      • GP AKA Green Machine

        Aram,
food for thought, the other Schools in the Serra have young talent like Tre and Tyler as well. What makes you think that no one in the Serra/pac 5 can stop these two? Are you saying that BA has the most Talented soph class in the Serra? The question is who is going to get them the ball? If Haynes was a JR they might have had action. But even he turn the ball over way too much. If next years QB is average, they won’t stand a chance. Amat Also needs some big time talent on the defensive interior. They give up way too many points and you can count on them giving up at least 28 pts, which puts in you in a bad position against everyone good. There are just so many things that need to address, and it goes further than just a talented class. You have not talked about the coaching issues. Is Hagerty the worse coach in the Serra? I dk

        • Valley Athletics

Undefeated in 2 yrs would make that the best sophmore class . Notre dame also has a very good sophmore class . That game last year at end of season between was only a 1 point game . Both teams where undefeated . Notre dame freshman even beat Serra last year . Quarter back will not be a problem . Camargo and garcia where both great freshman season . Garcia played the first series if St. Paul game when Koa got hurt first play of game . He drove them down field and they scored a td . 3 sophmore D lineman where in varsity this year with a few others that will develop into good ones . Running backs on sophmore team are very good . Both torrie sweet and transfer trey carter are develooing well . With another year in weight room they will be good . Even Greg biggins from scout site said that Amat has one of the best sophmore classes in SoCal . My nephew and his team mates where retweeting that tweet from biggins for motivation . This is a down year and everyone knows it . Not one senior on the team has offers . Sidney has offers from oregon , USC and ucla . Vaughn’s has offers from Alabama , usc , ucla and Washington .last years seniors had many players get scholarships . Freshman class is very good also . Only loss was to alemany .

          • Tom Foolery

Trying to gage a Varsity Team based on how they did their Freshmen year is always a difficult proposition but even more so in the PAC-5. PAC-5 teams seem to accumulate many top transfers post Freshmen year which changes the talent levels. Amat is going into a new league next year where they will be playing some different teams that they didn’t see their Freshmen year. Also, Amat’s Freshmen Team didn’t see Mission Viejo or Mater Dei’s undefeated Freshmen Teams nor did they play Bosco, Poly or any other top PAC-5 Freshmen Teams. Another thing that is seldom taken into consideration is that some programs don’t play their top Freshmen on the Freshmen Team because they move those top kids up to either Varsity or JV during their Freshmen seasons. The bottom line in the PAC-5 is that you really don’t know what you have or where you stand until you get those kids up to the Varsity and they compete against other top Varsity Teams.

          • Valley Athletics

Agree . Transfers change everything . Like St. John bosco . Serra in baseball last season .

          • Tom Foolery

Bosco would be the perfect example. Think about this. As loaded as Bosco was early in the season, they currently have 5 new starters that were on the CIF 30 day sit out period to start the season. You have to think that other private schools having seen what Bosco is getting away with and seeing the success that they are experiencing now, will almost certainly start doing the same thing. Why worry about bring kids in as Freshmen when you can wait and see what kids develop and then bring those top kids in as Jr’s. and Sr’s?

          • Valley Athletics

Mission viejo and bosco are examples of teams with the most transfers . A good example of a team with players they get as freshman is Serra .

          • AramT

To answer the question about where I rate Amat’s soph class vs. other Serra League soph classes, I have no idea because I don’t know those teams as well or at all.

I do know that this senior class, Koa not withstanding, wasn’t overly successful.

The current junior ans soph class playing together should do really well. QB will likely be Damien Garcia, who is part of the Super Sophs.

Although I thought the sky was the limit for this year’s team after it beat Santa Margarita in the opener, I turned out to be wrong. I thought they’d get better and better, but they didn’t. Lack of a true running back really hurt. Hopefully that’s all taken care of next year.

          • Valley Athletics

I expected more also but now
At the end if the season when you compare last years team who had many players receive scholarships and this years seniors with no offers I can see why. I agree that Anat did not have a true running back . Just 2 great athletes who can play running back but could of been better as receivers . benson is a true running back and will be better with a complete season . Torrie sweet and trey carter will be ready . Both are true running backs who just needed to develop . Freshmen team had 3 good backs also . Another sweet brother .

          • AMAT 73

            TF,
A lot of truth in your post ,but just try and tell the parents of the fantastic freshmen or the super sophmores on any team that let alone a PAC-5 team . If your kid is truely blessed with talent he will be on the field by his sophomore year . Maybe not full time as those are rare players but will see part time duty .

        • AMAT 73

          GP,
Damien Garcia will do nicely and there’s always Camargo if he doesn’t work out . The same was said when Rio was graduating and Koa has done a damn good job . RB is also looking to be shored up for next year , so yes the players are there , we just need to address some coaching issues ( OC and DC ) in my opinion , but the rest , even Hags are fine . On the field we are fine and have a lot of talent on campus . Look at our loses and you will find talent wasn’t the problem , play calling and defensive sets were the issue . I am sure even Aram was scratching his head on some calls .

      • AMAT 73

        Aram ,
Check the moderators hold , I think it’s at it again. Holding posts .

    • AMAT 73

      BL,
No you’re the one who should get on the train . If we keep the same OC we will derail again , it wasn’t the upper classmen that took the train off the track as you like to think . Of course the lower level LANCERS will be more seasoned than they were this year but we will have some solid upper classmen to show them the way. I get the feeling your son is one of those sophs ( upper classmen next season ) or might even be a freshman and that’s fine as his time will come. I am looking forward to next seasons team but we still have one to go and I plan on enjoying that game . Maybe some of those super sophs as they are called get their chance Friday . If so I do hope they shine and help to get the W. Enjoy the game and when that train rolls by , that’s JOE AMAT at the throttle and LOLA LANCER riding conductor and the vibes I get from your posts you probably have no idea who they are . As for me, I’ll be in the club car enjoying a cocktail or two . All Aboard !!!!!!!!

No one seen it coming! Even “Aram” said in the beginning of the season: “This is the best Amat team he has seen in quite some time” Turns out…This might be the worse season for Hagerty since he took over at Amat..they’re actually in jeopardy of losing every league game & going 0-4 in the Serra..What happened? As an outsider looking in my only conclusion could be the players aren’t sold on the coaching..sure they had no running game all season..but other teams in the Serra are lacking fire power as well…Alemany has no run game..Loyola has no pass game..I for one after doing lots of homework thought for sure this would be the best chance for the lancers to beat Alemany..& after watching the game i’m convinced i was right..Does Amat go into a different direction? Do they get relief? Will the upcoming class be dominant? Who will play QB next year? It seems Amat can never have the perfect team that it takes to get to the next level..It’s either they have no defense or they have no QB or in the case this year they have no run game..When will the complete package come? Or at what point do you say? Let’s go with someone else at the helms of the team? More will be revealed in due time…Does Amat have an incentive to go out & beat Loyola next week? A loss in my opinion would mean the players aren’t motivated..because they definitely have the talent to have gone 9-1 this year~…No pun intended just my opinion~ It is what it is…No response needed!

That is true and some college too , but is the sting of your teams loss to AMAT any less now . It just shows how relevant we are to you because you feel the need to continue to post on AMAT .

        • AMAT 73

Geez now you’ve changed to a saint parent . Just beat MTown if you are lucky enough to get that far in the playoffs and then visit back with your crap about irrelevancey . Now I can see why you were hiding behind the cover2 name .

  • SGV 4 30 Years

Now that Amat’s play-off hopes seem to be on life support, the rest of us will spend the rest of the year talking some of their people off the ledge. Some people have even started pointing fingers already and asked for sweeping changes. How about this, Amat is doing a great job of developing young men. Some the life lessons that we all learned growing up playing football is that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. There is no shame I losing if you give your best effort. If these young men are as talented as everyone thinks they are, they will use these experiences as motivation during their off season.

    SGV430 OUUTTT!!!!

    • Jefe

Life support?? Amat’s not going to the playoffs.

      • Tom Foolery

Your correct Jefe. The 1st wildcard will most likely go to the Trinity #4 (probably Olu or Servite) Unfortunately for Amat losing to Crespi and Alemany has put both of those teams in front of Amat for that 2nd wildcard. I would think the loser of the Alemany vs Crespi game next week would probably get the 2nd wildcard while the winner will share a piece of the league title with ND. I don’t see any situation where Amat could receive the 2nd wildcard.

        • AramT

Just remember, no fourth-place team can go ahead of a third-place team.

          • SGV 4 30 Years

I know I can’t see a scenario where Amat gets in either. I just didn’t want to see like a quitter.

          • Valley Athletics

Just a question .can a 4th place team go ahead of a third place team if they beat them head to head . That is worth 4 points .

          • Tom Foolery

Something close to that happened last year in the PAC-5/Southcoast League when Tesoro and San Clemente tied for 3rd place in league, but San Clemente beat Tesoro Head to Head. By CIF standards that would make Tesoro the Southcoast #4 and San Clemente the Southcoast #3 yet Tesoro received the Wildcard over San Clemente?

  • Boycott lacerito

I take that as a complement. Thank you chef ramsy and Your right AMAT is all that matters mr D12.

    • understand

You are officially irrelevant because of your logic. It is like someone bragging about getting knocked the f*** out by all the fighters in their weight class and getting up still babbling nonsense about being the greatest….”You just wait…next year!” You have not won any league games but you beat up on culver city, st.paul, and C.O. Charter oak barely got by Ayala who got spanked by 40-50 by how many d-12 schools. Just because you take good beatings by mediocre pac-5 teams doesn’t make you better than Rio Hondo Prep or any other league champions. You are a good sparring partner. You help people get ready for league but you will never be a contender. The only difference between Amat football and workman/la puente football is that you pay for your kid to be coached up by some good coaches. Ask your coaches to honestly tell you what they think the outcome would be if they had the kids from Pasadena/Monrovia/ or Duarte. Not just a couple but a whole team?

      • OuttaYourMindTrib

Sorry to burst your bubble SFB, the largest point spread by ANY team against my beloved Bulldogs was 24 by the classless tools across town.

If you’gonna talk Shiite at least do it intelligently.

FYI SFB, the spread was 14 or 15 against the D12 errrrrrrrrrrr D11 Monrovia.

        • understand

I will be more precise next time, That game just appeared worse because Monrovia was playing their J.V team by the 4th qt. But you got my point….See you next year!!!!

          • OuttaYourMindTrib

Won’t see me… I’m moving to Arizona. Tired of the People’s Republik of Kaliforniastan taxing the $#!+ out of me so they can send illegal aliens to college for free. I’m done. Plus my rather large gun collection is under siege by the kooks in Sacto.

Two more weeks and we’re gone!!!

The chef is a supporter of the lancers of La Serna D-7 to be exact . If you’re going to talk smack to him at least know who you’re talking to and who he reps .

  • SGV_FOOTBALL

    @The Real Amat Fans.

I think its time to dissect this years schedule. After reviewing the schedule I like the teams they played with the exception of a few teams.

St. Paul. Yes I know there is a long standing tradition between the two schools. There is also an absence of football championships at both schools.

Next team is Culver City, there has to be a better team, speed wise than CC out there. Look at some of the better City Section teams next year.

Next team is Charter Oak, It doesn’t do BA any good playing CO besides bragging rights. We have not put a decent run together in the inland four 4 years. I love watching CO play BA, but replace us with Vista Murietta, Oceanside teams like that. Not the top 5 in CA but if BA is top 25 in CA you want to test yourself in preseason.

Last but not least Chino Hills. CH always seems to match up well with BA but they have not been able to pull out the W. Again look outside the box and maybe San Diego Section teams or some Central Section teams.

Santa Margarita – Great for Amat but still in the same division.
Chino Hills – No Good for Amat
    Rancho Cucamonga
Charter Oak – No Good for Amat
St. Paul – No Good for Amat
Culver City – No Good for Amat
    Notre Dame – League team
    Alemany – League team
    Crespi – League team
    Loyola – League team

    What do you guys think???

    • Valley Athletics

Agree . But sometimes you don’t know what team you are getting . When Amat added culver city they had just made the finals to the western division and lost to Lompoc . That yeAr they upset Serra and where returning most if key players . St. Paul had just hired Asante and had many impact players added to a decent team . At the time everyone thought they would be better than what they turned out to be . Making schedules can be difficult because most teams might have only a couple available games to fill and they might line up with your available games . All the choices you gave are great . amat will have 4 games to fill . They might be able to fill schedule with a couple better teams and a couple games with someone who has an opening .

      • Tom Foolery

I believe Amat will be adding an addition league game next year with the new 6 team league and therefore one less preseason game will be played.

    • Tom Foolery

You don’t have to worry about Amat playing St Paul next year in the preseason because they will be playing in league next year.

      • Valley Athletics

Is St. Paul in the new league? I know Damien is for sure .

        • Tom Foolery

I believe the new league consists of:
          Sera
          Amat
          ND
          Loyola
          Damien
          St Paul

I think St. Francis would have been a better fit then St. Paul.

          • AMAT 73

            TF,
The slime is defintely not in the new league . Not even sure on Damien as I think they are suing to stay put in the public schools league . I think the 6th team is either Oaks or St Bonnies , not too sure , only that the slime is not . That game was a preseason match up trying to rebuild the rivalry which we can see now is gone for now .

          • Tom Foolery

My mistake. You are correct in that St. Paul is not in the new league. I went back into the achieves and pulled this from Freds Blog in May.

Serra football proposal that passed and will begin in 2014.
League 1: Alemany, St. Bonaventure, Chaminade, Crespi, Oaks Christian.
League 2: Bishop Amat, Damien, Loyola, Notre Dame, Serra.
League 3: Cathedral, Harvard-Westlake, St. Francis, St. Paul
League 4: Bishop Montgomery, Cantwell-Sacred Heart, La Salle, Salesian, St. Bernard, Verbum Dei.
League 5: Bell-Jeff, Bosco Tech, Mary Star, St. Anthony, St. Genevieve, St. Monica.

Leagues 1 and 2 will be in the PAC-5. I think it was a big mistake not making both of these league 6 team leagues. With only 5 teams per league each league will only receive 2 automatic qualifiers.

    • AMAT 73

      SGV,
Before you knock the total schedule you haver to look at when it was made . Granted the slime was a mistake but it was done when the great Asante had the program and we all know what happened there. CC was a top city team at the time . CO well the SGV wants the game and you are a D2 team as is CH and RC .Maybe we put Cenntenial and MV in place of CO , CH but you can’t bang heads with top 10s for the whole preseason without risking injury , especially those nagging ones that last weeks . We have 4 slots to fill for next preseason and I expect a tougher schedule . I will say this we need some changes in the coaching department . Not neccessarly Hags but defintely to OC and you could throw in the DC for good measure . There were a lot of young player mistakes made but not enought o cost us games . That lies on the coaching staff period .

      • SGV_FOOTBALL

Not knocking the schedule at all. I was implying that the schedule can get much better next year. A team of BA’s caliber should be playing a stronger preseason. I think a few wins by BA against the likes of Oceanside, Vista Murrieta or even a team outside if CA would really instill some confidence and you never know that might even attract the student athletes in the future that you need to make deep runs in the playoffs.

For example Crespi took off to Nevada, Arizona, and Fresno in the preseason.

SJB took off to Fresno and Arizona.

Mission Viejo took off to Hawaii and NJ.

LBP – Took off to Bakersfield.

Santa Margarita- Took of to NV.

Those are just a few examples of teams looking outside of the box

Like you said, you do not want to kill yourself during preseason but you want to get some confidence built before league and playoffs.

        • AMAT 73

          SGV,
That sounds a little better . I thought you were just trying to get out of the AMAT vs CO game in the future , hahahaha . We do need to step it up a little as far as going into the IE . We should leave the SGV teams off other than CH , CO , but then you know the AMAT’s dodging us posts will begin , hahahaha. No all kidding aside those games you mentioned could help ( I’m all for a Bishop Gorman game ) but then again they could hurt. It’s a hard balance trying to find games that are more of a help then a hinderence to the upcoming season .

    • no-step

I think Amat is the “trailer trash” of the SGV.

      • SGV_FOOTBALL

        Yawn!

  • Not Since 1995

Clearly the Charter Oak Chargers are again the #1 team in the SGV…!

Yo opino…Anything else and you would be wrong…

    Not in 2013…Lancechokers

  • Here’s JOHNNY, or Little Johnn

Yes you got it correct. Without Amat these blogs will suck.

  • SGV SCOUTING

They Serra League will split to two five team divisions. In the north it will be Chaminade, Oaks Christian, St. Bonaventure, Alemany and Crespi. The south will be Bishop Amat, Notre Dame, Serra, Loyola and Damien. There is pending litigation that has not been rules yet, so it can change…
