Charter Oak vs. Monrovia Class of 2018 (this year’s frosh teams) in passing game … Little Lou Farrar playing QB for CO and the Valley’s next freak girls athlete Jasmine Flores (2:03 mark in video) playing corner for M-Town …

WATCH JASMINE FLORES at 2:03 mark of video.

Aram’s Take: I remember Little Lou, son of CO offensive coordinator Dom Farrar, bawling after a CO playoff loss when he was the ball boy. Now he’s in HS!!! How old am I? Good gawd. Little Lou has got some good height. And then there’s Jasmine Flores, who is supposed to be the next coming to girls sports in the SGV. She’s playing corner. GOOD FOR YOU, MIJA!!! They used to say that if Nikki Wheatley played football at Bonita, she would have been a standout. Can’t wait to see what Jasmine does.

  • GP AKA Green Machine

Lol, come one Aram. After August 14th and 10 minutes worth of Hitting drills, She won’t be playing anymore. This was a great political statement for passing league.

    • AramT

Come on man, Deion Sanders played corner and never made a hit in his life. Jasmine Flores can do the same!

      • New York

I think it is pretty cool. My only disappointment was you told us where to find Jasmine on the video. I was expecting to see a big play. Instead, the video just showed her lining up on defense. That is a pretty low bar for excitement. We need you to set a higher bar. You did not mention all the other players on the field by the time that they appear in the video.

        • AramT

Uh, that’s because Jasmine is kinda the point here … you know, a girl playing corner.

          • New York

I like encouraging higher standards of excellence. Otherwise, you are selling Jasmine short.

          • AramT

You saying she won’t be all-league in two years?

          • New York

Not my point at all. I have no idea what Jasmine’s football upside is. My point is that I would mention her the way you did only if she were an all area selection, not simply for suiting up. I run an adult coed softball team. I set the bar high for all my players. That’s why I often have more than just the minimum number of women on the field. In turn, every player knows they don’t get pat on the back just for making routine plays. The women on my team would be insulted by my acting surprised or excited by them simply carrying their own weight

          • GP AKA Green Machine

She won’t play after 9th grade. I am starting to think you are joking. She will go on to do great things at Monrovia. Especially in girls sports. We are lucky to have her. It’s a nice story. There are so many freshman to be not participating in 7 on 7. Come fall, and hitting time, we should do a followup with video. If you are serious about girls playing football, that would be a nice. Will ya?

          • AramT

You’re telling me she wouldn’t start at Blair?

I’m very disappointed in you Monrovia heads. I thought you’d embrace Jasmine for what she’s trying to pull off. Instead, you’re telling me she’ll be gone by September or gone by her soph year.

I think she’s great and can’t wait to meet her and hear what’s going on in her mind. I don’t want her to get hurt, but if she wants to be on the team and doesn’t mind not playing much, then more power to her.

I want to know what girls sports she’s planning on playing.

          • New York

You’d better not include me in that comment about “Monrovia heads.” I embrace all these players. I am just not embracing your putting her participation up on a pedestal just because she is a girl. I can’t stand setting low bars for measuring success. Too much of our country has been weakened by such metrics. I respect your enthusiasm and intention of always promoting good works on the part of local athletes and coaches. I just respectfully disagree with your approach on this.

          • MonroVian

Aram Jasmine will be participating in the girls softball team after football. She has already played in a few summer league games with the lady cats. Jasmine is also a very talented and gifted cheerleader, she is part of the award winning RockStar/Unity cheere team out of Baldwin Park. She will probably only play freshman football but hey that is for her and only her to decide, not anyone on here! Jasmine we have your back. Aram please reach out to this girl and write a story, she is truly an inspiration, she is the perfect mix of athleticism and Stunning good looks. She is Beautiful in and out and everyone shoud know about it. MonroVians are here with you every step of the wayJasmine. God Bless.

          • New York

Now we’re talking. Softball! Send her my way in 10 years, after she is finished playing football and fastpitch.

          • The truth and nothing but…

Come on MonroVian, you are her uncle, stop begging for attention! You are doing her a dis-service by forcing her to be part of daddy ball.

          • MonroVian

Yes I am her uncle and you my friend a have no backbone! What are you getting out of taunting me and her. Man if you know who I am come talk to me like a man. Oh yeah you are a power walker you walked right by me. Coward!

          • GP AKA Green Machine

We want her to ball out in girls sports. She would risk her future in all other sports, if she plays football. I am not a big fan of girls taking shots to the mid section. Pads or not.

          • New York

Come on man. Be supportive of all those kids who show up for summer workouts. No one knows what the future holds. Maybe Jasmine have a good career. My beef is when people start putting players onto a pedestal for arbitrary reasons. It creates a distraction and is unfair to that particular player as well as the rest of the team.

      • GP AKA Green Machine

Sorry, I am not comparing deon to a 8th grade girl.

    • New York

Could you imagine playing against a double wing with all those pulling linemen and fullbacks leading the way?

    • The truth and nothing but…

First time I ever agree with you. Now do us all a favor and tell that to her uncle MonroVian.

      • MonroVian

How about you tell me my two cents. You know where to find me.

  • Lupe

That girl ain’t no Nikki, Nikki had arms ,traps & shoulders most dudes were jealous of in 8th grade.

  • SGV_FOOTBALL

The future looks bright with Little Lou!

Also that WR for Monrovia has hands (wearing grey leggings), future also looks bright with him and Monrovia.

At the 4:10 mark she had two back to back good plays!

    • New York

You are correct about the 4:10 mark. Thank you for pointing that out.

  • SGV 4 30 Years

How can you compare this to Dion Sanders. Dion was one of the greatest athletes of the last 50 years. This young lady while I applaud her for being out there, I don’t think she ever steps on the field at corner in a real game. She isn’t in the same class as Nikki. You knew Nikki was something special from day one. Football is a different beast. Not many girls (or boys for that matter) want to take on 250 pound pulling guards, or tackle big fullbacks.

  • SGV411

    ARAM,

I am not one to criticize any youth at all, but when you use the captions you posted, it really makes someone scrutinize the individual you focused on. You posted that Jasmine is a “Freak Athlete” so I expected to see her run one on one with other players, lock them up, break up plays, have great technique. I can really appreciate the fact the she is going out for football and applaud her for that. I hope she continues to play all 4 years for M-Town. But come on man, she did not know how to line up, had no back pedal or technique, and just merely looked like a kid who has never played football before. I really do wish her the best, and this is not a knock on her, but you have put that label on her that she is a “Freak athlete” so obviously I expected to see big things.

    • The truth and nothing but…

I cannot agree with you more. Her uncle, the team’s photographer with the blog name MonroVian, was touting her as the next great corner on another site. He challenged me to say “hello” to him at the SGV shootout. When I went there and saw what he looked like I just turned around and prefer not to waste my time.

      • MonroVian

Dude you still talking My two cents? I already told you to reveal yourself to me. What’s the hold up! Again Just keep walking.

      • MonroVian

Look, again I have no I idea what your vendetta is towards Jasmine or myself. Just leave it alone already please. Fact of the matter is you say you know who I am right? Ok I have no idea who you are nor will you EVER reveal yourself to me or anyone else because some of the things you say on here are Very negative. I am an adult and suppose you are too. With that said lets shovel this aside and agree to disagree please. Jasmine is a awesome young lady with or without the recognitions and will play football this season weather she is good at it or not. The point is she went out and in my eyes that is pretty Awesome. Aram thought so too. So please lets agree like gentleman and put this aside.
        thanks.
        MonroVian

    • AramT

Yes, freak athlete as far as girls sports are concerned. Maybe she won’t do much in football. But remember, she’s just a froshy and learning the position.
