Frosh-to-be phenom QB Khalil Ali headed to South Hills … what about the latest Vaughns brother?

New South Hills football coach Matt Bechtel knows he’s already getting freak freshman talent in QB Khalil Ali, who is expected to compete for the starting varsity job as an incoming frosh this fall. But what about the latest in the lineage of Vaughns Family ballers? If Bechtel lands frosh-to-be super talent John Vaughns, then WATCH OUT!

As of now, it’s not certain where Vaughns is going. Some say St. John Bosco. Some say South Hills where his older brother Geoff played. No one is saying Charter Oak or Bishop Amat, though, where his other brothers played.

Bechtel is known as an offensive savant and has a penchant for developing good QBs. Getting Ali for all four years, if that’s how it goes down, could be scary. The Huskies frosh team went 9-1 last year (lone loss to Bonita (10-0)). Word is South Hills has lots of lower level talent coming up and coming in.

Have not heard anything about this kid . Bryce young and Dj the 6’4″ 230 pound kid are the ones everyone is talking about . There is footage of Dj playing for the Saint John Bosco 8th grade team along with Jon Jon vaughns .

Why are you hating on this kid lol he is a 13 year old and will became the Best qb in the class of 2020. And are you really bringing size into this, by the the time Ali is in his sophomore year he will be at least 6’3-6’5 you guys keep sleeping on this kid just remember the name when you see Ali as the NUMBER 1 qb in the nation. No disrespect to Dj or Bryce but don’t sleep on this kid I’m telling u. The boy is 13 let him live

      • Valley Athletics

Not sleeping on him . The other 2 have been getting a lot of pub last couple month . Have not heard anything about this kid until now .looks great on video . But from what I have seen from Bryce and Dj they are better right now . If he is 13 he has more upside . Bryce and Dj from what I hear are 14

        • Remy Stuart

What you are claiming makes no sense if you have not seen the kid play except for on film. So how would. Be able to determine if there are better or not. My point is that these three young men will be great qbs when they get older but being prejudice on how good this kid is if you have not seen him play is just not right but anyways ur opinion and that is mine have a blessed
          night sir

          • AramT

Wait a sec, all three are QBs and all three are going to South Hills?

          • Valley Athletics

Bryce young is from Pasadena and is going to cathedral . Dj is going to Bosco .

          • SGV411

Aram, Bryce is headed to Cathedral. He is very talented and will take the helm once Tovar is gone. Keep an ear out on him, he is a stud. This is the first time I’ve seen highlights on Khalil, and to label him a phenom this early is a bit crazy. He looks pretty good and had some nice WR targets he was throwing to. Rumor out of SH is that they have some nice talent on the varsity and have added a few pieces here and there, nothing of major news. They were extremely young last year and have a great Junior to be and sophomore to be class. Also, the incoming freshman class will be loaded, and that’s without knowing if Vaughns will be added to that class.

#1 qb in the nation? based on what? South Hills ……do they have 1 receiver?
He looks pretty good for a lil kid but to say that he will be the number 1 qb in the nation is a joke!
He has alot of mechanical issues and he looks like his team had good coaching in comparison to the other 12 yr old kids he was playing against.
How in the world are you projecting how tall he will be in a year or 2 ???????????????? Why these guys would even post this news is a joke.

        • Remy Stuart

Please don’t tell me your supporting Ayala Bulldogs. Did you guys even make the playoffs…. Thought so a Little kid well little kids don’t compete for staring jobs at high schools when there still in the 8th grade. Once again why are you hating on this 13 year old kid. He played with your youth feeder didn’t he. You mad because you won’t have s good season for the next 4 years just like the usual Ayala. You guys play south hills so it should be interesting when south hills wins and you will not be going to the playoffs once again . You guys stick to shoving water bottles in players and hazzing south hills will stay with championships and wins

          • Bulldog Boy

Actually NO. wrong again . You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
You sound like youre the hater.
I happen to have coached some of the boys in this conversation not to mention SH boys and from around the whole valley.
I also coach QBs…..so I have a small clue. No one is hating on anybody. I love all the kids ive coached and I love this game. I was just trying to let you know how SILLY you sound. Championships? 8th grader fighting for a starting job ? When did that happen? Maybe you are a prophet. or a wannabe

Number 1 QB in the nation? 6’3″ – 6’5″? Where are you coming from with that crazy talk? How the heck would you even know what other fantastic QB’s across the nation will even be coming into high school next year let alone incoming Freshmen that haven’t even attempted to play the game of football as of yet? If your crystal ball is that accurate, maybe you could “help a brother out” with some lotto numbers for the drawing tonight.

Last Aram phenoms in the area were Noodles and Snoop Jr. They were supposed to make Diamond Bar unbeatable. You want to ruin a kid. Call him a phenom at 12 and 13 years old.. Would much rather know who the top returning seniors are.

    • SGV411

Don’t forget the young lady football phenom from Monrovia a couple years ago. You know the one we’ve been reading about every weekend in the paper, lol. “Phenom” should not be thrown around so lightly Aram. I will try and get you some names of the players to look out for at SH.

He has great mechanics and vision. Superb reactions. His skills will grow with him. Nice touch on those passes. Seems like a natural athlete who won’t need much “coaching”. I really like that Center, too. He’s going to be a force, as well.
