The honorable McMayor

Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen. Who do you think will be Rosemead's next mayor?

Will it be the next in rotation, Councilman John Nunez, who was sued -- along with the city -- for allegedly sexually harassing a former employee? The lawsuit was settled.

Will it be Councilwoman Polly Low, who is just concluding her first year on the City Council?

Will it be Councilman Gary Taylor, who has been recommended to the Grand Jury for alleged Brown Act violations?

Will it be Margaret Clark, who has sent out a round of fliers picking apart proposed city ordinances?

Will it be Mayor John Tran - I don't even know if that is possible for a mayor to serve two terms consecutively - because the council won't be able to agree on anyone?

Or will it be me, Jennifer McLain, who is now the most infamous and annoying city reporter in Rosemead's history?*

My vote is me, honorary mayor. You can just starting to refer to me as McMayor.**

The City Council will talk about it at its next council meeting on March 25 at 7 p.m.

Jennifer, since you've started this discussion of "McMayor," let me nominate someone with a slightly different name for the honor:

Mayor McCheese! He's a career politican, and I'm sure there's a McDonalds somewhere in Rosemead that he could claim as a residence, and thus register to vote.

Nunez wasn't cleared. The city's insurance lawyers settled. Neither side won or lost. (Except for the taypayers, I guess)

I vote for McMayor. She obviously has more common sense than anyone sitting on that dais.

Gary Taylor for Mayor, Maggie Clark for Mayor Pro Tem are the right choices. Too bad the residents are not allowed to vote.

We all know the outcome with the three amigos running the Gong Show. It's rigged!

Sadly the problems in Rosemead will only get worse as long as the three amigos are in office.

Hey, Pravda: The people in Rosemead DID get to vote. Polly Low both got more votes that Gary Taylor. And John Tran got more votes than Maggie Clark. And that's despite Wal-Mart spending over $500,000 over the last three years trying to promote your peculiar brand of "grassroots" democracy.

Hey Communist Anonymous - I take it you did not get the memo that the city council elects the mayor, the topic at hand. But I get your "spin" point.

Sadly you are correct, John Tran and Polly Low did receive more votes through influence peddling and outside influences. Do lawyers from outside Rosemead give donations to Tran and Low? It was funny to watch how hard Tran and Low work to buy a vote. Taylor and Clark speak the truth. Tran and Low duped the residents of Rosemead as you can see now; they have no idea how to be intelligent, truthful and respectable council members. They made their bed and now look at the mess. You can’t blame Taylor or Clark; they are doing the right things. The citizens are revolting because of the actions of the three amigos.

Funny thing bringing up Wal Mart, which now has very little to do with today’s issues in Rosemead. Wal Mart is OK, not that I support everything they do, but I see a nice shopping center where that empty field once was. Wal Mart did not give $500K to Taylor or Clark so make sure you tell the truth. Check it out and dig into the facts, not political rhetoric. Taylor and Clark did very little to convince people they are good for Rosemead, the residents know where they stand and now know how bad the three amigos are.

That is the truth. Keep trying to hide it, laugh at your petty communist reference. You have no backbone and much less honor and respect.

Now that that discussion is over....about the new Mayor of Rosemead...I told you so! Good luck residents of Rosemead. The three amigos will continue to make poor decisions.

Pravda, Pravda, Pravda: Deny it all you want, but you and I both know how much money Wal-Mart has spent over the past three years to keep the Taylor, Clark, and their friends in power.

But that's fine. I would expect nothing less from a source called "Pravda."

Who will benefit from Wal Mart tax revenue???

And where was Wal Mart prior to three years ago? It is and always be the voters.....accusations are lies
