Term limit talk on the agenda
The Rosemead City Council is going to discuss term limits at its meeting on Tuesday. The discussion is at the request of Councilwoman Polly Low. Apparently, the background information that the council members will be provided for the meeting isn't too lengthy. It will just discuss what the procedures are for introducing term limits (take it to the voters), what other cities have term limits, (i.e. Arcadia and Alhambra), and what the options are in having term limits (lenghts of terms, etc.)
I don't know exactly what prompted this, but I'm going to assume it has something to do with the length of time that Rosemead Council members Margaret Clark and Gary Taylor have spent on the council (a combined 51 years).

Comments
The thought of even bringing up term limits by Polly Low is not news to me. As a resident of Rosemead it does not surprize me one bit. We are all aware of how Low, Tran and Nunez feel about Clark and Taylor. They don't like them. They bad mouth them, and want them out. It is as political as politiacl can be. AT ITS WORST! The FACT that it was Clark or Taylors turn to be the cities next in line rotated mayor says it all. The three amigos know exactly what they are doing. Who do they think they are fooling? Do they honestly think that we are uneducated and ill informed voters of the city. Well they have another thing coming. Just who in the neck do they think they are? I am sick and tired of hearing about the nonsense that goes on in city hall meeting after meeting, month after month. What do they think that we who use to attend can just as easy stay at home and watch "As the World Turns" when we can simply go to a council meeting and watch "As The Stomach Turns" at City Hall! Staring the three amigos in the title role and the two other ones. Did you forget your campaign promises to be for the people, by the people and NOT for yourselves? Just who are you serving up there in your seats? Not us. If we are not satisfied with what you are doing we will and can vote you out. You do each other in by belittling, embarassing, and talking down to one another. It makes you look bad. WE notice it and can hear it in your tone of voice and body language. Your faces say it all. Can't you all just get along and do your job. An important position and job that we intrusted you all with? Are we asking too much as voters and taxpayers. Did we make a huge mistake in electing you in office to be there for us not you? Get it together. You three are the talk of the town.I don't like to admitt that I live in Rosemead because of this mess you knowingly created. I wonder what other cities think of US here, who have to deal with you for four long years. I hope to be out of this city where I can trust the council I voted for and sleep at night. I will miss my city that I grew up in with my parents and friends. But enough is enough.

Pravda keeps changing her name, but the song is still the same.
Tell me, Dear Pravda: When it was John Tran's turn to be rotated into the mayorship the first time, how did that turn out?
Guess what? Turnabout is fairplay. You reap what you sow. You play with fire, you're going to get burned. It takes two to tango. Etc., etc.
The insults, belittling, and slights started over five years ago, before Tran, Nunez, or Low were even elected to office. If you guys could have shown even an ounce of grace when you had the majority, there wouldn't even be a new majority on the city council.
Instead, you bullied, belittled, and ignored the crys of your citizens. And you refused to allow a referendum on Wal-Mart and you tried to cancel the recall election. Those don't strike me as the actions of people who care what the majority wants.
That's what term limits is supposed to prevent--politicians who think they know all the answers, and who will do anything to stay in office (lie, cheat, have false and misleading postcards sent to everyone in the city--remind you of anyone?).
Enough IS enough. No more professional politicians in Rosemead.

What a joke. It is people like you that seem to think you know it all and have an answer for everything. Well you don't!Sorry to burst your bubble. Your comments are anything but factual. The joke's on you.
What do you mean by, "Not Again"? I have not previously responded to anyone claiming to be "Nugeyn Family." The only way this could be "Again" is if you were thinking of my previous responses to your Pravda posts.
And so, my dear Pravda, your attempted deception is unraveled.
"Happy trails, to you. Until we meet again!"
