Term limits on the way

Rosemead voters should expect another election, only this time on whether to approve term limits. Council members on Tuesday agreed that they want to take term limits to the voters. The term limits will be a total of three terms, or 12 years. The council members must sit out for two years and then they can run again.

How will you vote?

I have to assume the term limits referendum would be consolidated with another election--If not March 2009 then June or November 2008.

Again, costing the folks of Rosemead more tax money that should be going back to direct services and something more important!

So be it. It will cost money and the city would lose experienced councilmembers. Then again, you could also dump councilmembers like the three amigos who lie cheat and fleece the city.

What good is experience if they don't do anything for the city?

You can't possibly do anything for the city if your agenda items are not approved. It takes three votes for anything to pass or be denied. All you have to do is count to 3. Da

They've had over 30 years to do something. I keep asking Pravda to list their accomplishments when they had the majority, but she still hasn't responded. Duh.

sounds good, Mayor Tran would be the first out. We'd only have to put up with him for 12 years.

See? Still no response. All they can do is criticize.

I have been a little busy with real work to answer Communist Anonymous, but I do not have to justify what has and has not been done in the past 30 years, although Wal Mart is a great story. Bringing in the tax $'s and the streets look so much better than the empty waste of a lot it was before. Now the three amigos want to take the tax $'s and develop, why not leave it alone since you oppose it? Because you are greedy and will fleece the city any way possible! So tell me this, since the three amigos have been in office, tell me what they have done? What were their campaign promises?

Well, I wrote a nice long response to the Pravda post, but it hasn't appeared for three days. Maybe it was too long? So I'll keep it shorter.

I think it's laughably funny that Pravda writes, "I do not have to justify what has and has not been done in the past thirty years." She's the one who wants to return the old folks back into the majority. Why? If they didn't do anything useful during their first thirty years in power, what possible reason would there be to put them back in power?

Failure number one of the old majority: Not enough done to combat graffiti in Rosemead.

Accomplishment number one for the new majority: Quicker response time on graffiti calls. Now, when I call to report graffiti, it gets fixed within 24-72 hours. It used to take all week when the old guys had a majority.

Failure no. 2: Primative technology to "record" city council procedings. Currently, it's on an old analog cassette tape recorder. On the agenda for tomorrow is a proposal to replace that with a digital recording process. Rather than buying audio tapes that are often unintelligible, residents will be able to buy digital recordings (probably not until the meetings go back to the renovated city hall, however).

Well Consequence can you tell us all how they, the three amigos can cut the city attorneys expenses in half? Since they hired him. That's what they have brought to the city. It is not all positive. So please spare us with your one sided comments. Get Real!

Pravda, why do you keep changing your name? I guess so you can criticize everything that happens, good or bad? Thank you for proving my point.
