He's sorry, so sorry
If you saw the paper today or visited our Web site before about 10 a.m. this morning, then I doubt you missed the story on Rosemead Councilman John Nunez' apology letter.
Jennifer McLain reports the letter, dated April 2008, was distributed to Rosemead employees with their May 8 paychecks.
It stems from a lawsuit -- settled earlier this year for $330,000 -- claiming Nunez sexually harassed a former employee.
Nunez has denied the allegations.
In the apology letter, he says he's "an affectionate person of the 'old-school.'"

I know exactly what he means. I am frequently misunderstood when I grab the rear ends of all my female friends, make kissy-kissy noises at them, and tell them what I would do to them if we were alone. Hey man, that's how I was brought up too! Am I the one who's wrong here????

Allegations from the tune of $330,000 settlement! What the heck. Does this guy really believe his own bs. Why isn't he being recalled. Do the people who elected him in still care for their elected official? Smell the coffee! Wake up! I wouldn't let my wife nor daughters near that guy. What is he doing to get help. Is this not sexual harrasment in the work place? What is wrong with this whole situation? As a resident I just don't get it!!!

It was not sexual harrassment in the workplace. It was a politically motivated accusation, fanned by politically motivated city council members who have managed to spend five decades in office without having made any significant contribution to the quality of life in their city. The only people who pretend not to get it are the ones who have always mindless supported the old majority. Right, Pravda?

Mr. Nunez is not new to elected office, and this is not the first allegation of sexual harassment against him. Even if he's from the "old school", as an experienced elected official in today's politically correct environment, he's should have been astuted enough to understand his actions of "affection". Unfortunately or fortunately this time, Mr. Nunez' actions resulted in monetary consequence. Male elected officials have to learn that elected offices are not stages to showcase their "manhood".

This comment is for Communanonymous who writes "It was not sexual harassment in the workplace. It was a politically motivated accusation, fanned by politically motivated city council members".....Your statements are political. Take this apology for what it is...acknowledging a wrongdoing and take your spin out of it. The only one here who is defending the three amigos is you. You are wrong. You must be Bob Bruesh, or John Tran…or an idiot to not follow the letter. Quit making this more than it is, a bad city council with the three amigos running shotgun. One man is protecting the city. If you can’t figure that out and admit you are bias, why bother with people like you.
Fight on Gary Taylor and Maggie Clark. Good will overcome evil.

"Good will overcome evil"? Now you're sounding like a Jihadist. Perhaps I will have to start calling you, "Osama bin Pravda."
OK, Osama, let me let you in on a little secret: When someone stands up and starts saying things like, "I am the Truth and the Way, and anyone who disagrees with me is evil" they are either God, or they are delusional.

Try walking in the shoes of the women who did not find this as a show of affection. It is not fair that they be disrespected by such a person who forgets his place. Especially one of respect and ethics. You Anonymous sound like a politician. You don't even have the gumption to state your real name. Do us all a favor and suggest to your friend John Nunez that there are classes on morales, ethics and honesty. This will set you free from the anger you express on your blogs. Councilmembers Clark and Taylor hang tuff. We the City of Rosemaed believe in you. Nevermind the "three amigos"

Classes on Morales? If I ever need to learn more about the Morales family, I'll keep that in mind.
That you're one of about twelve families in the entire city of Rosemead that put up a "Nunez Resign" sign might tell you something about how believable the rest of us find this smear job.
