Good news

Every couple months, we get this complaint:

“There’s never any good news about ____ (insert city name here)_____”

Last week, it was from Baldwin Park Chief Executive Officer Vijay Singhal.

Well, here’s a snippet from a story that will appear in Saturday’s paper:

After more than three decades, Baldwin Park’s history finally has a permanent home.
Nestled in a small corner of the city’s newly renovated Arts and Recreation Center, the Baldwin Park Historical Museum houses thousands of artifacts from as far back as the late 1800s.
The museum celebrated its grand opening last week after being shut down for nearly a year while moving from its previous site on Sterling Way.

*************

Inside the roughly 2,000-square-foot space is everything from original farming equipment from before the city’s incorporation to handcrafted jewelry and arrowheads from the Gabrieleno Indian tribe.
An original sign from the last trolley car depot in the city hangs over the museum’s entry way.

I have to admit, walking into the museum Thursday, I was really impressed with the site. It’s definitely worth a visit…
