A tale of two props

| | Comments (0) |

Two eminent domain reform initiatives went head to head in Tuesday's election, but only one seems to have come out on top.

Wonder how Prop. 99's passing is going to effect the redevelopment plan in Baldwin Park, where Robert Bisno wants to revamp 125 acres of the downtown area?

More than 200 homes and businesses face relocation through eminent domain.

In talking to Bisno Development Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President John DeClercq last week, he said it would have been "extremely difficult to proceed" if Prop. 98 passed.

What about Prop. 99 you ask? "It has some new challenges, but we can still move forward."

We'll see.
