This week, there are two meetings in El Monte this week.

On Tuesday, the City Council will host its regular council meeting. Appearing on the agenda is the "Administrative Summary: Sister City Dinner/Dance May 3." What does that mean? They will be talking about the "investigative report" prepared to look into the alleged actions of Mayor Ernie Gutierrez.

Councilwoman Pat Wallach requested the item be placed on the agenda.

On Wednesday, the council will host a special meeting for a budget workshop. The workshop is at 5:30 p.m.

The city is broke? Check out Tues. nite's agenda. Agenda No. 6.03 Publication of the "History of the El Monte Police Dept" not to exceed $12,750. That is $25.50/book. WHY????? Who is getting paid to write and print this little gem. Do you think any council member will question that item. Bet Ernie, Emily and "J" approve it. Boy, those asset forfeiture funds are burning a hole in the police dept's pocket.

I wish they would write a book about our drunk mayor when he sold the land to Longo for a $1.00 he says thats good move for the city. I"ll tell you this we could have sold the land for 10 million easy and make 50 million in tens years on it. RECALL this fool.

"EM Resident" and "The Taxpayer" aka Pat and El Wallach. First of all, the only reason this item is on the agenda is because you Pat Wallach put it there. Any single council person can put an item under their discussion item. Second, I wish you could talk about how to solve the city's buget problems. You offer very simplistic solutions: Get ride of Person A and put "ME" in charge and everything gets better over night. What a crock of b.s. Things we bad under you too. Or do you forget?

El Monte Resident said:

Do you have a problem reading? The agenda item I mentioned was on the police agenda for the up and coming council meeting. It was not placed on the agenda by any council person. Read carefully before you shoot your mouth off. Ernie, Emily, and "J" have never seen a request for spending from the police dept. that they will question or disagree with. If anything, Emily will want to have a party to celebrate the expenditure, at our expense. Ms. Wallach and Mr. Barrios are the only ones that refuse to rubber stamp the police requests.

The El Monte Police pull the puppet strings of Ernie the town drunk, Emily the town idiot and J the town do nothing. Thesed three are a complete joke> All they do is rubber stamp what ever the police want. It is NOT their money, so they could care less. THEY OWE the El Monte Police big time. Check out their campaign contributions. Money talks ans b s walks. Hopefully Ernie, Emily and J will get the picture. Let's just see who asks intellegent questions ans makes reasonable recomendations to help balance the city budget. The final vote will say it all.

As for the town drunk. Ernie stop calling people to come to the council meeting and speak on your behalf. Don't you get it. WE NO LONGER TRUST YOU. WE DON"T EVEN LIKE YOU. YOU ARE DESPERATE AND HAVE BECOME THE TOWNS BIG JOKE. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. STOP EMBARESSING OUR CITY. GET OUT OF CITY HALL. YOU DON"T DESERVE TO BE THE MAYOR OF EL MONTE. GET YOUR BUTT TO AA AND SEE A HEAD DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. YOU NEED IT.

Nothing is ever alleged about that Mayor Ernie Gutierrez does. He knows exactly what he does good or bad. He also knows that HE can get away with it in El Monte. Everyone covers up his sorry mistakes. Re runs and rules city hall, Gomez and Ishigaki and El Monte.

Well tonight is the big unveiling. The scandelous report will be made public on Mayor Ernie Gutierrez Cinco de Mayo Madness. It will be interesting to see what was said on the report. Even more so will be what was NOT REPORTED. All theese people that attened will be shocked to hear that these allegations were just that allegations. Only because the person who picked the questions to be asked wanted it that way. Did any one really think that any kind of misbehavior would be printed on black and white. Get real. They need to cover up any and all wrong doings of our dim witted Mayor Gutierrez.

It's sad to see decent people being effected in negative ways because of people at the top who are incapable to do their jobs. (You know what) rolls downhill and I, for one, am sick of the little people getting the shaft.

Tonight's El Monte City Council meeting agenda includes item 6.03 recommending Council approve to encumber an amount not to exceed $12,750 from Asset Forfeiture Funds to pay for the publication of 500 hardcover books titled "The History of the El Monte Police Department".
In a time of fiscal uncertainty and rumored layoffs of civilian personnel it is fiscally irresponsible that this expense is even being considered for approval
regardless of funding source. A responsible City Manager would have never allowed this item to be placed on the agenda, but this is just another example of the lack of leadership in El Monte City Hall.

I totally agree. Who the heck cares about the El Monte Police Department. It only serves to glorify them more. They seem to be greater than the city council. That money could be used to help retain employees at city hall. Or better yet a non profit like the El Monte Boys and Girls Club. Someone has to watch over those street gang bangers. Why would Mussenden be so blaintly stupit to even put this item on the city agenda? What a idiot. Oviously Gutierrez, Barrios, and Gomez, and Ishigaki must of had their hand in the cookie jar as usual. Can't wait to see the vote! Four to one I bet. What a bunch of sorry elected brown nosers. RECALL ALL FOUR.

To the Previous Poster:

You NEED to keep up. The report was posted by this website more than a week ago and its details reported in detail. It seems like you know this but are PRETENDING like you do not to make people believe that something is still being "covered-up". That's kind of childish don't you think?

The Taxpayer said:

I can handle this problem lets Recall the mayor and get L.A.C.S. Dept. in El Monte?

get rid of the fat cats at the top. promote from within and a negligible pay increase. you will get rid of the incompetent ones and gain the trust and loyalty of the "underlings." they will be forever grateful and work their tails off to make better the city/job they love/work for.

obviously it isn't working with the current management. so cut the fat.
