El Monte report update
I just sent over a records request for the investigative report into Ernie Gutierrez's alleged actions at a city sponsored event in June. Council members have received the report, they confirmed today, and it sounds like it will be discussed at a council meeting in two weesks.
We'll see whether they will hand over the report. At least one public record's expert said they have to hand it over to the public.
I'm working on a story about this for tomorrow's paper...
As a tax payer and long time resident I have the right to know what Mayor Gutierrez did that night. It was a city sponsored event paid by us. If there is nothing wrong why would the majority of the council not want to bring it out in the open? Seems like the only honest person is Pat Wallach. Come on Gomez, Barrios and Isigaki speak up. Seems like you couldn't get Emily to stop grand standing, and blab and blab. Now you can't get her to open her big mouth. Well we are waiting council members. What are yoiu afraid of? Ernie is not that big and bad. Just a total idiot. Don't try to cover it up either. The DA, Cooley needs to be notified immediately. The sooner the better. This is totally bs.

He has three votes in his favor. No matter what.
I don't think its anyone's business who Mr. Gutierrez hangs with or how he behaves in public.

When he is in the public representing the city as the mayor it should be of great conern to everyone. This event was on city time, city facility,city staff and city money. Our tax money Mr.Spitzer. Not the drunken Mayor Ernie Gutierrez's money.
I agree with you. Mayr Gutierrez can get drunk as a skunk for all I care, scream whatever he wants to anyone who will listen, and have motel loads of women. That is his own life style. He is just another politician who went down the toilet. But when you are an elected mayor who is representing the city of El Monte. That is a totally different story.
Jennifer what became of the investigation that took place on Mayor Gutierrez? Can youn inform us on what was reported by those who attened the event? Thank You.
Sory Jennifer the city of El Monte doesn't have to hand anything over, Especially to you. They are afraid that you may actually report the truth on what goes on inside city hall. They make up "their" own rules, and break them too. Just look at the make up of the city council, city manager and city attorney. All cut from the same cloth of mistrust, ignorance and greed. What a damm shame.
What has El Monte turned into? I am not sure at all for the citys future. I plan to move out before it gets any worse. Get the bumbs out of city hall. Ernie and Emily please do us all a big favor...RESIGN!!! The other three can do the job without you.
