El Monte special meeting tonight

| | Comments (5) |

El Monte is having a special meeting tonight. One thing is for sure: They won't be talking about the investigative report prepared to look into Ernie Gutierrez's alleged actions at a sister city event. The special meeting was called because two council members were unable to attend last week's meeting.

The three items on the agenda are a discussion on retirement benefits for city employees, the formation of an advisory committee to discuss freeway congestion, and a closed session topic on employee negotiations.

But, as always, there is an opportutnity for the public to address the council on items that aren't on the agenda.

Do you think that many people are even aware of this meeting? They are having it on Monday (City Council usually meets on Tuesdays) and it starts at 6:00 p.m. (normal city council meetings start at 6:30). It will be over before the residents even know it is happening.

In other words the city of El Monte continues to go broke. Tell us something new. What are the council members going to do about it? What are they going to cut in the budget? What departments are overpaid? Let me guess. The El Monte Police Department...da!!! Especially the retirement packages. Are we right? Well let's just see who of the city council is willing to save the city from going under. Who promised fiscal responsibility to us the tax payers? All five did. Now do what you must! Cut away.

Just saw the video of the meeting. Ernie went on the attack like an old pit bull. Maybe he needs to get neutered. The vets say it will settle old dogs down.
