In the nick of time

Apprently, Rosemead just wiggled out of a Brown Act violation. I just got a call from Councilwoman Margaret Clark telling me that tonight's 4:30 p.m. budget study session was cancelled because city officials just realized that they did not post the meeting time and date, which is a violation of the Brown Act.

The call came just 20 minutes after I posted a blog entry that the city would be meeting at 4:30 p.m. but you wouldn't know it because there is nothing on the city's Web site. I wonder if the post had anything to do with the meeting being cancelled...

The council will still discuss the budget during the 7 p.m. council meeting.

Who in the heck is running that department? Public meeting dates/times and location are a STANDARD for posting agendas, unless of course, the responsible city official is unqualified and/or incompetent. Not good for business!
