No more booze?!

| | Comments (10) |

I just finished reviewing the City Council meeting from El Monte last night and there were some interesting comments made.

A handful of people spoke out in public communications, addressing allegations Mayor Ernie Gutierrez was drunk and shouting vulgarities at a city event last month.

Most of the speakers spoke out against the alleged actions. One resident told the council that they "should be setting an example to the citizens of El Monte and the employees of El Monte."

Another woman went so far as to question the necessity of allowing alcohol at city events. "If (a drunk attendee) hit somebody, harmed somebody, hurt somebody in some way, who are they going to go after? ... The city."

Those comments resonated with Councilwoman Emily Ishigaki. She recalled when the question of alcohol at city events first came up years ago.

"I remember how controversial that was," she said. Ishigaki went on: "Maybe we ought to look at that again."

Only one speaker spoke in the mayor's favor.

The resident claimed she was at the sister city event everyone's been talking about, and that the mayor did not do anything inappropriate.

She suggested the city focus on more important issues, like budget cuts and layoffs.

The woman that spoke in favor of the Mayor did not say that nothing inappropriate occured, she said that what was claimed did not occur. There is a difference - check with a real journalist to find out how to identify the difference.

To reality check....wrong!
If you're going to split hairs, what she said was: "Mayor Ernie Gutierrez did nothing at the sister city dance to disrespect the city or sister city....".

No Liquor for Ernie-No Backbone for Emily said:

NO liquor for Gutierrez peroid. He can't hold it. The man is a drunk and a fool. He needs to be recalled. What a joke to the city and the rest of the city council. Emilys comments are dumb as always. She only tries to make herself look better. It never works. Give it up Emily. Make up your mind for once and grow a back bone. You just dn't want to hurt your buddy Ernie. Two peas in a pod. That what you two know nothings are. Hit the road.

Who is the woman who spoke in favor of Ernie. His supporter or another girlfriend? She looked out of it.
Not very bright by a long shot.

AAA for Gutierrez said:

Alcoholics Anonymous has a place to meet in El Monte. It use to be in the Down Town El Monte Mall but it moved. Betty Ford is too expensive for Mayor Gutierrez. The city and Tax Payers would probably have to pay for it. This one comes out of you pocket Gutierrez. Tequilla and beer will kill your liver. It has already killed the city of El Monte. Thanks to you

AA or what ever your pal Gutierrez desperately needs help. You, as his so called friends should help him. It takes a real friend to point out alcohol dependency. He has it, real bad. Like a money on his back. We all see it all to often at community events. Many of us were there. We saw Ernie act like a druken fool.Remember the community was invited to this event of 5 de Mayo. Hasdone things for the city. But he has managed to give it a black eye in the process. OUCH! That huurts us all especially the people of El Monte. I see you have a nasty mouth like Gutierrez. No wonder your friends. Get help asap for you and Ernie.

City Hall Part of the Problem Dr. Who said:

The City of El Monte plays a big part in the mayors drinking problem. They should not serve alcohol of any kind. They know he can't hold it nor control his mouth, nasty language and hands. Stop being part of the problem.Give Ernie a gallon of root beer and Emily a bucket of chicken. Dr. Who
