Signs too close to polls?

| | Comments (2) |

This just in from reporter Amanda Baumfeld:

A Covina resident called into the newsroom with concerns of a campaign sign in support of Measure C, an extension of a city wide utility tax, right outside of a polling place.

The measure is being supported by many Covina city officials and workers who say if they extension is not approved massive cuts will be made to city services.

The resident said the sign was rather large and posted outside of Cypress School. She said she reported it to the city clerk around 1 p.m. and asked for it to be taken down because she felt the sign was too close to the polls.

At 3 p.m. the sign was still up, according to the resident.

Was this a city election? If not, why did the resident bother the City Clerk?
