The long-awaited EIR ***UPDATE****
I just got off the phone with Laura Nieto out of the Baldwin Park City Clerk's office.
She told me the draft environmental impact report for the downtown development project will be ready Monday morning.
In case you don't remember, Bisno Development Co. is studying the feasibility of 8,000 residential units, 3 million square feet of commercial space, 750,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, a 300-room hotel and a 1000-student charter school.
The EIR has been a long time coming, and I'm sure there are a ton of people that would love to get their hands on it.
Well, it looks like they'll finally get the chance.
****Price of the EIR: on a cd for $10 or hardcopy for $25

what does this EIr recommend
Just a second! How could they charge so much money for a cd? Aren't they only allowed to charge the exact cost for producing public documents?? Blank cd's cost less than a buck a piece. When you factor in the cost of the cd, electricity, hell, even wear and tear on the computer that burns the cd, plus staff time and efforts (which they aren't allowed to do), it still doesn't come up to $10! Something smells fishy, and it ain't Jen's lunch!
I thought under the Freedom of Information Act that we should not have to pay for this stuff
where can I get a copy of this.
Bird watcher:
