The Los Angeles County Registrar's office said today that it issued 648 same-sex marriage licenses on Tuesday. Before same-sex marriage licensing, the average number of licenses issued per day during the month of June was 194.

Here's how it broke down:


NUMBER OF LICENSES ISSUED

· Norwalk Headquarters: 146

· Beverly Hills: 128

· East Los Angeles: 107

· LAX Courthouse: 44

· Florence/Firestone: 13

· Lancaster: 6

· West Hollywood: 204

TOTAL: 648
