Jogging trails and Clark’s fliers

Councilwoman Margaret Clark sent out another round of fliers, regarding the issue of a jogging trail at Rosemead Park, to residents in preparation for tonight’s meeting.

In the flier, she attached verbatim comments made at a meeting two weeks ago, a copy of two newspaper articles on the issue, and a letter addressed, “Dear Friends.”

Mayor Pro Tem John Nuez is trying to shove his version of the rubberized asphalt concrete jogging trail which still invades the family picnic area,” she wrote.

At the last council meeting, the council rejected all bids for a concrete jogging trail and agreed that the city should try and team up with Rosemead High for a trail that could be placed at the school.

She goes on, “On has to wonder if John Nuez is using old plot to pretend to listen to the voters and then sneak the project in while no one is looking.”

The flier will likely draw a crowd, as well as a reaction from the council members. Each time that Clark sends out one of her fliers, council members get more and more irritated because they feel the fliers are full of inaccuracies.

Mayor John Tran said that he has not seen the flier, but that he is not surprised at all that Clark would send out another one. “It is something that we have to deal with,” Tran said of her flier.
