Concerns? What concerns?

And I actually had hope that La Puente City Manager Carol Cowley's long-awaited evaluation was going to happen last week.

Well, it didn't. It's been postponed to July 23.

Instead, the council discussed the whole Charles Co./Del Terra issue in closed session.

Mayor Louie Lujan told me today that while he couldn't provide any details -- because of state law -- the council has basically dropped their concerns.

"What I can say is the City Council essentially left this matter up to the two involved parties," he said. "It was pretty much said it doesn't involve us so let them work it out. We have other things to work on."

So after all that huffing and puffing, and requests to take the issue to the DA, nothing is going to happen.

So after all the huffing and puffing, why isn't there going to be an investigation in La Puente? Councilwoman Lola Storing sounded really tough, you know for law and order and all that crap, when asking for a DA's investigation in the paper. What changed in that closed session? Why is she now silent? Ask her that question. I know why Solis, Lujan, the Charles Co. and Del Terra don't want an investigation, but what about Storing, is she just like the rest, all talk but no action?

This was pretty much expected for both issues. It is quite obvious that the City Attorney and City Manager run the City of La Puente. They must be very happy to have a rubber stamp council.

Are you an honest to goodness DA? Seems rather out of the ordinary to announce who you are going to prosecute on a blog like this? I wonder if it might even be illegal or at the very least unethical. Oh well, Your the "DA" I guess you know best.
