More allegations in chamber drama emerge

| | Comments (25) |

Well, I finally got to talk to chamber Executive Director David Luevano today (after about two weeks of trying to get a hold of him), and Luevano is saying that Councilwoman Marlen Garcia did threaten his job at an informal meeting last month.

"I mean I just thought that it was wrong," Luevano said. "I felt degraded - humiliated. What else can I say? She is a person, I guess, if the chamber doesn't swing their way, I guess it's no way."

While Garcia admits to having been at that informal meeting, she denies allegations that she threatened Luevano's job.

Chamber Vice President Jose Barrera also said Garcia did not threaten Luevano's position, but that Garcia did say both Barrera and Luevano were unqualified.

Luevano says he has an affidavit from a chamber employee who overheard the whole thing, backing up his claims.

"(Garcia) did threaten my job," Luevano said. "I have a witness to that. Maybe witnesses that were (there) don't want to say it for other reasons, but I have another witness."

They ARE unqualified. And they SHOULD lose their jobs. Ask any of the member businesses. All these guys do is sit back and collect paychecks while they contribute nothing to the success of the businesses they represent. Their job is to build partnerships between their member businesses and clients, but these guys can't even raise enough funding to keep themselves afloat.

that sound a bit harsh.

Hmmm. So two people say she didn't, two people say she did.

Although, I'm not exactly sure how important the issue is. Fact is, Garcia couldn't fire Luevano even if she wanted to and/or threatened his job.

David Luevano over promises and underdelivers. He claims to have done so much for the Chamber. If you look at what he has done and it's been all smoke and mirrors. Get that audit done and i wouldn't be surprised he runs for the hills. Be very cautious of the so call witness he's got. This boy is very slippery and just cannot be trusted.

To chaber member that made the last comment. If you are so unsatisfied why are you still a member? As far as I know, I am a new member with the Chamber and they have gone out of their way with a staff of three to help me out with whatever I needed. I have been to a couple of there events to help out and have not seen board directors or ambassadors there to help. Is that not what there position entails? Or are they just sitting on there bum and basking in their title. Let me know when you figure this one out.

Off topic, council member recall.... that is music to my ears. Since I started my business all they have done is give me grief. It took months to get the ok to get my business going, than they come back and DEMAND that I make changes which ended up costing me 8 grand. What the hay!!!!! Sorry Tania, we know what side of the fence you fall on.

What side of the fence does Tania fall on?

This sounds like marlen and tony bad mouthing the chamber again. Marlen stated she had concerns on the chamber but no actual proof or claims just b/s to stir the pot. The fact is the council wants to run the chamber and they are trying to discredit the director and president but it won't work because there is nothing wrong other than there are some certain directors who are for bisno are stiring the pot. The chamber knows who you are and wil take swift action soon i hope. I don't understand why a certain church person keeps sticking his nose in everyone's business and i sure hope his finances OF THE CHURCH AND DONATIONS ARE ALL THERE AND are in order but we will know soon enough

Curious tuttle, how long have you been a member of the chamber?

member said:

jerk sounds alot like Tuttle. Always making up their facts as they go along. Talk about discrediting and bad mouthing, that is what jerk and Tuttle are all about. These two outsiders who probably both live in Pomona just go about spreading their venom. Go back where you come from and let us who really live here decide what's best for us mr.jerk and tuttle. You know all you care about is your lame business and running your mouth. Well, you yourself will bring your own downfall. Oh and how long have you been a Chamber member what maybe a month.

all of the posts labled "anthony ben a jerk" are by tuttle, as he seems to believe that anyone with a point of view different than his is councilman bejarano

Greg Tuttle, Pomona CA said:

Yes Greg Tuttle is obsessed with Anthony. What this Pomoneon doesn't realize is that we the people of Paldwin Park, support Anthony and the entire City Council. We will not tolerate outsiders coming in and dictating to us what THEY feel is best for Baldwin Park. We, the people of Baldwin Park didn't listen to the outsiders when they protested Walmart and here again, we will not listen to people like NUTTLE, I mean TUTTLE have no vested interest in our community. Oh yes Mr. Nuttle, in case you rebut my comment stating that you pay a business license, i'm sorry but $39 a year does not give you resident benefits. Also, those 4 employees you claim to live in Baldwin Park, take them with you to the next council meeting so that their voices can be heard, not yours.

member said:

That would be a nice trick for nuttle oops i mean tuttle to get his 3-4 employees that are suppose to live here in B.P. to come to the next council meeting. But they support the developement just like the rest of us who live here. They just prefer to keep that to themselves and keep their jobs. Tuttle if you weren't so mean spirited you would accept that the developement was good for our city and what we need. You yourself would benefit big time if only you could get your head out of your void and smell the coffee.

Tuttle is lucky that no one looks more closely at some of his business practices. The EPA and IRS might not find him so entertaining. And, if his employees ever took a close look at a wage order regarding meal break periods.....watch out!

Boy we know who wrote all these comments an unintelligent T/M who doesn't know what a real city license cost and doesn't pay business taxes for fixtures, equipment and school taxes because I'am a big shot I work out of my house just like anthony. I bet marlen helped him with his spelling or maybe the unemployed attorney might give him some pointers. The business is what pays the city bills it isn't the homeowner just paying a portion of their house taxes to the city is the only thing you do but what do you do for the city besides operate a illegal business and work out of your houses because you don't make enough to get a real business. How about all that sales tax money on the jobs you do does B/P see any off it. The business every month pay sales tax revenue which a portion goes to the city every month. You people don't have a clue what the city will do to you once they get what they want from you. Your letting a security guard mayor lead this city into financial ruin with a bunch of loser council people who also don't have a clue.

Can't stop laughing either said:

carefull ath ben a jerk, you are going to get council all crazed and they will have to send their minions to give you a surprise visit or a phone call. ;) Last I heard this is a free country, freedom of speech and all that. Oops I forgot it only applies to those that live outside of BP away from the reach of council and their clowns.

Anonymous said:

All of that above sounds like a cat hissing.

Sure it's a free country. And yes, the freedom of speech is extended to even the most ridiculous, false, and incoherent speech.

And btw, how is tuttle's "business" so righteous and prestigous that he can attempt to degrade a so-called security guard.

Anonymous said:

What is this about a security guard?

to laughing said:

You definetly sound confused, lost, and just plain ignorant. It sounds like your saying that the home owners who live here only pay alittle of the taxes were as the business owners are who really pay the city taxes. You really know how to win us over. I just hope i'm not spending any of my money at your dump.

Anonymous said:

Cat hissing? Sorry I must have hit a sore spot, read back on what you posted and let me know who the cat is.

What a Joke said:

What really needs to be looked into is the mayor's Brother and the amount of people coming to and from his house at all hours of the day and night. It's no secret that the mayor's Brother has been dealing drugs for quite some time now. The mayor himself has spoken about his Brother's arrests during councils meetings.

I would like to thank Ricardo from Bisno for the fireworks that you went out of your way to give us and our neighbors as well. Thanks again you made our 4th of July!!!!

Getting back to the topic. David Luevano is bad news concerning the Chamber. Yes we know that CARA loves him and it's mutual. CARA just got in the Chamber to strengthen it's position in the city. Were where they before? They want to use the Chamber politicly at the council meetings. Look at how Tuttle spoke about our Chief of Police and tried to use our Chamber President as a rally point. And David applauds this. You see David sitting with all the CARA people and cheering them on. He's been bought and paid for. Our new Chamber President is the real thing. She's much stronger than what you thought huh David. As the saying goes... you reap what you sow. David you think your slick but your days are numbered. Right will win out.
