Although gutierrez's alleged behavior and comments are in bad taste and politically incorrect, is this really resignation material? Or even something that requires daily tribune updates? LBJ did and said far worse in office. I mean, its not like he has abused city funds, smoked meth, falsely claimed to have a medal of honor, or falsely imprisoned someone. Jennifer, you need to ignor these uneducated fools. They are Ernie's and Emily's supporters. They only see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. There is absolute truth to Ernies nasty behavior. He knows it all to well as do those who were there. Not everyone was deaf and blind as to what Ernie said and did.I too was there at the city event from hell. It will always remain in my mind, like a bad nightmaare. Mayor Gutierrez acted like a total drunken jackass that miserable night. We are still very upset about his unprofessional actions. He continues to make a fool of himself no matter where he appears. I wish the Tribune would stop trying to ruin the reputation of el monte by pushing this story so heavily. It seems like the reporter has a hidden agenda and is really tring to promote someone she has a personal relationship with instead.

The Tribune does not ruin the reputation of El Monte. You have your drunken Mayoe Ernie Gutierrez to thank for that. The Tribune simply reports what goes on in each city. El Monte has more than enough scandals that are constantly taking place at city hall. City Hall, the mayor and council, the police chief, city manager and the stupit decisons and actions that come down by Ernie provide enough "crap" for the newspaper, day after day, week after week, month after month.

Ernie can only beg his friends to speak on his behalf, and that list seems to be getting shorter and shorter. He lacks the courage to come forward and face his accusers. Ernie is the proof that you cannot make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.

Why is it that when a person doesn't like what a reporter reports, he/she automatically assumes said reporter is working for the other side? Oh, I know! Because they're ignorant morons who have no more ammunition to attack because they know the person they are backing effed up big time and it's getting attention. Newsflash: Jennifer McLain and Tania Chatila could probably give a rat's behind about Ernie Gutierrez, his supporters or opponents. I doubt it keeps them up at night, I doubt it's what they talk about when they're with their friends and family, and I doubt what you're saying to them now is going to sway their coverage of anything.

At the El Monte Council meeting on July 1st the item on Mayor Gutierrez was not on the agenda; it was in Council Communications and brought up by Wallach. The others were not interested because the city has more important issues to deal with. Stop beating a dead horse.
