BP mayor under investigation
Baldwin Park just can't seem to stay out of the news lately......Here's a story I wrote that ran in today's paper:
Just a side note, Lozano told me Thursday he was going to fax me all the documents he sent to the FPPC showing who exactly paid for the trip and how much they paid. But on Friday, Lozano's documents were no where to be found.
He didn't return at least a dozen calls I placed to him throughout Friday morning, afternoon and evening.
Also, Frank Chu (whose father Nelson Chu is alleged to have paid for the trip) dodged most of my calls Thursday and Friday.
I guess the mayor was to busy to fax the papers remember he has that night job as security guard. Well this council meeting coming up could be really interesting maybe Bejarano and Lozano might want to be absent and think of a real good excuse why one is admitting to being a drunk and the other one is in trouble for taking kick backs wow this can't get any better than this. We thought covina council was exciting but i think baldwin park is #1 in my book keep up the good work bp council.
How may other councilman went on this trip
The city of baldwin park has hit a new all time low. The citizens and business owners are tired of this corrupt council actions. I bet no one knows that the person who paid for this trip also owns a newly built building in the redevelopment area that stands to be demolished unless our do me favors mayor doesn't help out. What i don't understand is why the city let them build it knowing it was in a redevelopment zone only to be condo's built there. I bet because the city was making no money on the empty lot so it's called get more revenue for now.
I think it is very interesting that far east bank doesn't have a location in Rowland Heights but east west bank does and it has a connection to the Chu family it is holding a UCC lein filing on them. The mayor hasn't learned when you tell one lie it leads to another and pretty soon you can't remember what you have said. This story is getting very interesting. We know the other people who went so let's fully disclose the information to the public or we can do it one at a time your choice.
I lived in bp for about 3o years. On another blog I read that Lozano would mop the floor with anyone if they run for mayor. Well that was before all his people new how corrupted he was and still is and Im a mexican I'm ashamed to have him there on the board and as a Mayor,If my memory is right I remember hearing of convicted felon voting for the mayor I thought Felons could not vote, how do i know 1 of those felons is related to me.
The Mayor took an all-expense paid trip to China. He's a Mayor. The allegation is that he did't report it in his,"economic statements". Is that something about his personal tax statements? What is it? I didn't read anything that said he was accused of, "taking a kick back" were did that come from?
BPer..the economic statement is a reporting form required of all local politicians. However, you do bring up a good point...I wonder if he reported the gift on his income tax? Hiding income may bring additional investigation into his activity???
Good job gilman it is a gift that needs to be reported and yes he will be held acountable for it along with his lack of filing on his 700 form. The mayor might think it's as simple as amending his form but it's going to cost him and maybe his position as mayor. Thats what he gets for only having a security guard mentality with marlen as his advisor. If he wasn't gay they would make a great couple dumb and ugly.
You sound like a Mayor hater. What's up? Can you prove he's working as a security guard? If so, were? And about him being gay. HOW do you know about that. You got proof? I'll wait to hear what happens after the investigation before i think anything.

Let's talk about he is gay in the unredacted police report that the mayor had redacted because corona talked all about being the mayors lover and that the mayor was gay and had dumped him for another gay lover so get yourself a copy after the trial for corona.

So he's working at the St.Francis Hospital in Lynwood on Imperial Hwy as a security guard. Instead of me going all the way down there to find out. Can you just tell us how you get this information and we can do the same. Why would Corona be making a police report about his gay relationship with the Mayor. I don't get that?
Why don't you ask corona. He was out of control while being arrested and it's all on audio just wait til it goes to trial. Just think why all the redaction on the public report it wasn't private info. and it wasn't dirty language the city manager and city attorney were hiding the comments about the mayor, think about it. While during the arrest corona was saying he was a school board official and to call manny [mayor] he will help him get out of the situation and corona is also stating the reason he went on this rant was because the mayor dumped him for another lover. The info I get is all public info and just takes a little work to research it. You can start at the city clerks office and request public info on any city official then go from there.

Both have been arrested for being under the influence.
Both had their police reports "suppressed" by Mayor Lozano
Both were recruited by Mayor Lozano to run for office.
The last two of you use "redacted"(had to look that up) and "suppressed". In order to do that than you are saying that the Police are helping to cover this up. Since obiously it's them that have the report. What i find interesting is now i quess the police are recording when they go out on a call. When did this start?

the slick Mayor of Baldwin Park will never furnish documents to you or any body, please prepare your self to ask the hard questions; local politicians in the San Gabriel Valley are full of slogans, they are with in a political machinery, and also an embarrassment to our democratic system and they don't represent the voters. I say Tehachape is where all indecent politicians at to be special Mayor Lozano, Bejarano,Monica, and Marlene Garcia and for the rest they know whom they are.

To answer your first question the redacted report was done for the mayor by Vejay and city attorney not the police department. The police department was forced to release this report to discredit the mayors gay lover corona. This is what happens when you get mixed in with the political game as the chief found out and i'am sure she wishes it never happened. If you were in law enforcement you would know you don't have to release a report until the person has been convicted of a crime only some details to satisfy the press but you don't compromise your case. Now for your second question some police officers carry pocket recorders to help the write the reports accurately and to save evidence that really happened or was said to the officer.
No, I'm not in law enforcement but the way you put it, you are. Interesting. Is that the way you're getting your information?
I grew up here in Baldwin Park lived in a beautiful home on a cul de sac with hardworking parents who migrated from Mexico to achieve the American Dream. He loved Baldwin Park. Our 3 bedroom home grew to have 7bedroom w/3baths by the time I was 8yrs old! Papa's house was the biggest one on the block. That part was great,but as a child I remember something not so great like the drive by shootings happening down our private little street 3 drivebys in total on our street alone while growing up in Bpk. And when i was in 10th grade a boy i knew (& liked but was in a gang)was shot & killed. He was my age. I remember alot of violence, hookers, drunks hanging around the 711 on frazier/bess ave. I wouldnt dare stop in there it looked dangerous. ileft papa's house in '94 got married & moved on. Papa died 2yrs ago & mama's
alone. It's just my brother & I who live in ca out of my siblings. My husband & I now live in BP. What a Difference i see/feel here. Baldwin Park is thriving! So many new & remodeled homes with beautiful landscapes. So many great Stores, eatery's (IHOP) Business is booming in the little city. The new Esther Snyder performing ART School on Maine st is the most Outstanding Mark of change here for me. It's all so Beautiful! The streets are clean, and well lit at night. what happened to the many stray dogs I used to see and the hookers drunks? Im not afraid of my city anymore. Baldwin park has Substance. I say councilmen & Mayor Manuel Lozano of Baldwin Park is doing something right!
Does it really matter if the mayor is gay or not? Your main concern should be "if he does a good job as the mayor of your city or not". Some of you sound paranoid of this man. Do you all know for a fact that he prefers men. If he does who really cares. It is his choice not yours nor mine.
Have any of you met with him or even talked to him? Set up a meeting. He is very nice, a professional and polite. That bad now a days considering how elected officials come these days. Give the man an opportunity.
