Well, now that Anthony has been cleared. I guess according to that clown that got up to speak at the council meeting who said that if the arresting Officer was bias against Anthony, which is what it appears, that Chief Hadsell should resign. I think the Officer should have alittle training on those matters. Leave the Chief alone!

Cops as I like to say "go fishing".
They pull someone over for no reason, the first thing they ask you if you resemble a gang member is "are you on parole or probation". You ask why he pulled you over and he will not respond, then he will ask if you are in parole or probation. An answer of yes in a state of panic will take away any rights you have, an answer of no may lead to a confrontation with the cop and an eventual arrest for resisting arrest, when you were merely exercising your right to remain silent. Cops. How many of us have $2500 hundred dollars to hire a defense lawyer to prove that the cops did not follow the law. Cops take advantage of this situation. Some cops believe they are above the law, these arrogant cops give good cops a bad name. Is there anything that could be done to punish the cop that made the arrest or any other cops just like him.
I wish I had the money to set up an undercover car that would goat cops into these kinds of situations. I would say that 40 - 50 percent of Baldwin Park cops would loose their jobs.

Bejarano has now been stained and tarnished. His political future is broken, at best.

Yup. Stained with the dirt of the police department. He's going to need some serpico type "tide" to clean it off. But then, that's why he's in office, right?

Note to Leftover Ladies: Is it supposed to be black type on a blue background, or is it my computer? I can barely read it.

West Covina Watcher,
It is your computer :(

The only thing this idiot has been cleared of is being drunk beyond taking care of himself. The want to be attorney admits to having numerous drinks and his breath and body odor reeked of alcohol you don't need a breath test or blood test for that. The other problem he can't explain is why he is out at night drunk walking the streets. I know he was looking for new clients to handle their DUI cases. This is what this town waited for all these years for him to come back from college to show all the people what he learned in college get drunk, party and walk the streets at night what a great pillar of the community. He can blame everyone he wants but only one person put the booze in his mouth. Sometime soon he needs to take responsibility for his stupidity but for now he will blame everyone else for his actions. This is a clear case of a incompetent person.

Great syntax and grammar on the last comment.

Why does he have to "explain" why he had been drinking and walking around? When did that become a crime or some great moral failing?

Get off your high horse and go take a basic English class at the adult center.

BPer said:

According to some people anybody in office can not make any human mistakes. He had been drinking and was walking home. I suppose he should have called a Taxi. He didn't, hang him! What Anthony did dumb was stand around and open his mouth in front of an officer who realized he had been drinking. The Officer should have told him to be on his way and if he saw him again that night, expect a visit to the slammer. If Anthony would have giving the Officer any static than the Officer would have had reason to take him in. Otherwise the Officer should have returned to patroling our streets as he should have been doing. Not wasteing time on BS like this.

To dumbass "great said" said:

It is a crime to be inebriated, intoxicated, drunk, watever you want to call it... Under California statute passed by state legislation, it is illegal to be intoxicated in public. [CA Penal Code 647(f)].

In certain crimes, mostly infractions and misdemeanors (like this one); law enforcement officials are allowed to use either letter of the law, spirit of the law, or descretion. This time this officer decided to use letter of the law, and being that it was A. Bejarano, it was just iceing on the cake...

AB bye bye said:

Well what are you going to say when the unredacted police report is shown and the tape recording of his booking is going to come out and it has some very racial slurs in it. Which is not becoming of a council person. This person is no one I want to represent my city he needs to find a new city to try and screw up. Plain and simple he never should have been out in public drunk and he needs to quit sticking his nose in police business. I think anthony recalls what happened to daddy and this is going to be his down fall so take it like a man quit blaming other people for your stupidity and arrogance. May I suggest elmonte I hear they like to party over there.

BPer said:

Again my problem with this is that we need our police patroling our streets. After reading the police report it looks like Sgt.Pernell wanted Bejarano arrested more because he didn't like him speaking up for his friend. Personally i would have kept my mouth shut. In any case. If someone is intoxicated and being disorderly - take him in. We don't need that on the streets. But as one of the previous writers said it's within the discretion of the officers to decide what to do. The writer is obiously happy cause of his dislike for Bejarano. I just think that if someone has had too much to drink and he's not driving and not causing problems let him walk home!

Applaud the arresting officer he was doing his job, prise our Police Department in Baldwin Park! Since when a law braker have better rights thant a law binder citizen? Check this out; Bejarano our council man is a simpleton, a ordinary young man with a mob mentality, with a big mouth, college trained bratt. Betrayed by his own judgement he need to learn or he will end like OJ.
in the other hand the drunk driving ticket from not so distant past still hangs in his record so his political carrier has not been tainted only have become more interesting. I'm sure that one of this days we will know way he got fired from the Metrolink Commission by the LA. Mayor or perhaps the Mayor is distancing from Bejarano quality of ineptitude

Bejarano is just like his father. Enough said.

Political "carrier?" Are you for real?

How about this: GIVE US PROOF. Not just random postings on your opinion. If he has a DUI on his record, it should be easy enough to determine.

Brandie Woods said:

When was the last time any of you did the RIGHT thing after drinking by choosing to walk instead of getting behind the wheel? Sounds like the BPPD followed proper procedure (if you call drunk-walking a crime). One thing that Jr. should not have done; however, was bad mouth another city department in front of the public the way he did at the last council meeting. If he had a grievance for the way he was treated by the officers then he should have to follow the same procedure all residents must follow. All city departments should (at least) appear to have unity!

P.S. How many police officers had to be involved? Did the dude get his pot back? What other types of crimes took place in BP while this incident was happening?

BRANDIE WOODS SHOULD BE ON THE CITY COUNCIL!

BP resident said:

Was walking the streets of Baldwin Park during the middle of the night also evidence that he was still able to exercise care for his safety?

Hopefully this incident doesn't taint his political and legal career. There's a reason why they call drinking a self-destructive behavior. It affects your judgment, inhibition, decision-making.

For anyone who is reading this and who is young Latino professional, be smart and realize that you have much more too lose than the average joe who works at Best Buy. Hence, change your lifestyle and behaviors!

... said:

There's a reason why these say drinking alcohol is a self-destructive behavior. It doesn't help when you have an inherent gradiose way of thinking.

Hopefully this incident doesn't mar his political and legal career as this incident will only be a click away for a long time.

EM said:

You can learn from Mayor Ernie Gutierrez of El Monte. His political career went down the toilet because of his drinking in public and hung over at city council meetings and other events. He looks worn out and his voice and language slurr too much. His judgment calls are dumb, and his decision-making is sad and pathetic at most. Too late for this dude. He has self distructive.

Edward said:

Since when is 10pm the "middle fo the night"? People keep saying he was "wandering the street in the middle of the night," but that doesn't seem to be the case. According to the report it was just after 10pm and he and has buddies had a very specific location.

I doubt this will have any impact on his career. If Ted Kennedy could drive that woman into a lake and cause her death and STILL be one of the longest serving (and most loved) senators in the U.S. Senate, I think Bejarano's little incident will be the proverbial "water under the bridge." Besides, voters have demonstrated time and time again they like their political leaders to have a little "normal dirt" on them.

Member of the Metrolink Board of Directors arrested said:

This is the second time in a week that Bejarano has been in the news. He was a member of the Metrolink Board of Directors until he was replaced last week by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who made two new appointments to the board in his role as chairman of the MTA board in the wake of the fatal train crash on Sept. 12. Villaraigosa was seeking a greater role on the board — and the move came before Bejarano’s arrest.

Bejarano told the newspaper that he had been drinking earlier in the night but hadn’t had a drink in hours and was not drunk. “I did nothing wrong,” he said. “I was not drunk. I was not driving. I was not belligerent. I did not scream at anybody. I did nothing wrong.”

Very good post. Made me realize I was totally wrong about this issue. I figure that one learns something new everyday. Mrs Right learned her lesson! Nice, informative website by the way.

Those individuals who have already purchased the boots have essentially noted that there are no other boots that they know that can even come close to the comparison of a great high quality pair of boots.
