El Monte's personal life in news again

| | Comments (6) |

mgutierrez.jpgEl Monte Mayor Ernie Gutierrez was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of domestic violence, Rebecca Kimitch reports.

The District Attorney's office will not file charges.

This is not the first time that Gutierrez's personal life has been in the news. In May, we reported that Gutierrez allegedly appeared at a city sponsored event drunk. On his side was girlfriend Graciela Solano. City records showed that Gutierrez voted on a driveway improvement project for Solano's home.

While reporting on that story in May, Jose Medina claimed that Gutierrez and Solano had a violent history. Medina was married to Solano's daughter.

I am not one bit surprized that the mayor was caught again beating up on some one. His drnking gets him into a lot of trouble. He needs to keep off the booze and get some help from AA and anger management. Physical violence is no way to handle any problem especially on a woman. That is a cowards way of handeling a heated problem. Too bad Gutierrez has not learned to handle his anger and drinking. The two don't mix. He shoul;d of been left in the county jail. That is wher he belongs not at city hall. Certainly not as mayor of El Monte, either.

If this woman has a violent relationship with Gutierrez why hasn't she left the brut? Does he live with her in her place or she with him at his? What condition was Grace Solano left in after Gutierrez beat her up? She is a small woman who weighs about 120 at most. Gutierrez about six ft., weighing at least 225 pounds. That is a lot of body damage to such a small person. Did he think he was fighting a gorilla in a boxing match?

The truth needs to come out once and for all. This man should of been kept in at the county jail. Treated and handeled like the woman beater that he really is. A true, mean, nasty, criminal at best. They need to lock him up and throw away the key for ever on men just like these. Mayor or not. He must not continue in any way as an elected leader of El Monte or any other city for that matter. For the sake of all...especially the women at city hall.

I agree with Angry Woman. Mayor Gutierrez should of been kept in jail. Abuse is abuse on another person, that is the law. That is why we women have no confidence in the current laws in our society. The man who does that he dame well pleases to us gets away with it. Just because he is the mayor of a city does not give him the right to roam the streets freely. Who had connectings in the District Attorneys Office to permitt his release back into society? Why would the police chief and officers allow this to happen. I hope that they all can sleep at night knowing what has happened to another woman in our community. Another face and name that will fall through the cracks thanks to men who over see and enforce our laws and civic cities.

This crime will be covered up as usual being that it involes Mayor Gutierrez. He does no wrong in the eyes of the El Monte Police. Why any one would want to live in such a corrup city is beyound me.

Personal mess! That is all Mayor Gutierrez's life seems to be now a days. How can someone run a city in the condition that this man is in? You really have to ask yourself why the rest of the city council would let him continue as the mayor. Jay Gomes the Vice Mayor should take over immediately. There needs to be clear leadership and a sence of integrity and responsibilty replaced at city hall. Thes rest of the city council needs to stand up at the batters cage and do right by the people they represent. They owe them that much. Gomez, Wallach, Ishigaki and Barrios do what YOU four have to do. We are watching and listening to your actions.
