Job interviews in La Puente Saturday
The La Puente City Council is holding a closed session meeting Saturday to interview between five and six candidates for the city manager position.
Mayor Louie Lujan said all of the applicants have had some sort of management experience, and they all have master's degrees in public administration.
Transition Manager Frank Tripepi said the candidates were narrowed down from a pool of applicants who responded to wanted ads in a job bank and a city manager newsletter. He said he was not involved in that selection process and he will not be involved in the interviews.
Councilman John Solis said Thursday he didn't know the city had even been reviewing applications. Solis and Lujan were appointed to an ad hoc committee earlier this year to oversee the application process. Looks like someone was out of the loop.

We all know what happened last time when the council didn’t do a background check on these potential city managers. You should at least do a simple google search on these guys.
How come these sessions are always closed. Why don't you let us know who is being considered for city manager. We should be able to make sure these people are legitimate.
Amen! let's hope they look into the backgrounds of all candidates this time.
Dog! I'm gonna try out for this city manager position next time. Wha Wha! wooty wooo
You can only work for the City of La Puente at this point if you offer Lujan some kind of kick-back. The City is for Sale under this guys leadership.
How come no one at City Hall got fired over the Haddick's Tow money? Between the city finance staff and the audit firm....someone should have caught this. That is unless the good folks at City Hall were enjoying part of the funds that are missing....
You guys got it wrong, someone was fired over Haddicks - Carol Cowley!
Seems like Dan Holloway got his way.
Sounds like the city should be renamed to City of Lujan. Anyone check out the candidates? Maybe it's a closed session because Lujan doesn't want us to see the suitcases of money these candidates are bringing into it.
